Friends and allies of Baroness Thatcher expressed ‘surprise and disappointment’ last night as it emerged President Obama is not planning to send any serving member of his administration to her funeral. Whitehall sources have revealed that the U.S. delegation at tomorrow’s service in St Paul’s Cathedral will be led by two Reagan era secretaries of state: James Baker and George Shultz. Though President Obama himself had not been expected to attend, there had been speculation that he would be represented either by Vice President Joe Biden or wife Michelle. The Queen’s decision to attend
The farther Obama and his sycophants remain away from anything representing English and American tradition, the better. It proves the utter contempt he has of both countries´ history. Obama isn´t worthy to be near such greatness as Thatcher showed the world. The bust of Churchill must be smiling now.
Extremely bad form. It is obvious Obama and no-one in his administration comprehend protocol. I am shocked that the United States of America would behave this way. Unfortunately what he does and doesn´t do reflects on us. Disgusting.
Obama got his fanny kissed all over socialized Europe, his butt boys arranged--bought--him a shiny new peace prize, then, Dang!! He heard the Brits were not going to make him a knight. Well, he showed them! Sulk. Pout.
Obama´s response to this situation underscores the enormous changes that our society will have to endure to restore any sense of correctness and dignity to our way of life. If we ever expect to regain the respect of the real world, the task at hand seems almost incomprehensible. God help us!
Maybe it´s all those years of Monty Python that have twisted my sense of humor. But in my mind I picture Obama and Moochelle, at the funeral next to Lady Thatchers coffin. When all of a sudden the lid opens and Lady Thatcher sits up, flips Obama the bird and yells "Marxist I have seen your future, and you will not win!".

Have you considered the Brits sent the message to Obe and company STAY AWAY we can´t deal with your 200 SS agents and stop the funeral procession so they could drive through? Plus they can´t hold back the service to long enough to bullet proof the church windows and hotel rooms. Remember when Obe demanded the palace windows in his 3rd floor suit had to be replaced with bullet proofing for a one night stay?

Of course he did. If he returned Winston Churchill´s bust to them the moment he set foot in our White House, he´s certainly not going to soil his reputation crossing the pond for them. He has an immature point to prove about anti-colonialism.
That´s about the only thing he has had an original thought on. Everything else was programmed by the marxist radicals &/or written and directed by Val Jar.
As usual, he thinks it´s all about him. Our government should be represented officially at the funeral. As much as I despise this administration, they are the current US government. I continue to wonder how many more times he will embarrass us on the world stage. I hope the Brits return the snub someday.
It would be impossible for anyone in the classless Obama administration to sit there while Margaret Thatcher was being praised. Progressives are all about being snide and snarky, and from day one have showed themselves to be ignorant of decorum and protocol. Baroness Thatcher deserves better representation and she will get it from James Baker and George Shultz.
He must sit around strategizing about how to be the anti-president because he does it so consistently and so well. I quit being surprised after his first bow-from-the-waist to a foreign potentate. But I still despise him for his hatred of America.
Sending O to represent Ronald Reagan´s America would be like sending Kim Kardashian to represent Audrey Hepburn; a grotesque and ludicrous incongruity. The America Baroness Thatcher loved, and to which she was a friend and essential ally barely exists anymore.

We do not even have an Ambassador to UK and are represented by Charge d´affaires. Obama has referred to the Falklands as Malvinas-giving support for fellow socialist Kirchner. One of Thatchers greatest achievements was keeping the Falklands British. Our fake POTUS would have been among the " enemy". Perhaps he was afraid of being exposed as the fraud he is? Perhaps he knew about the Boston bombing beforehand and wanted to be here to exploit it?
tacky to the max - and it is embarrassing that this behavior is on display internationally. surely he could have sent someone appropriate as his representative as he is president of all the people - not just liberal dems. playing politics at time of death is really a new low. it will boomerang sooner or later
Think how far back you would have to go to find a dem admin with class, integrity and dignity to send someone to pay America´s respect. Obama(no), Clinton(no), Cater(no), Johnson(no), Kennedy(no), Truman(finally). It´s a sad state of affairs to see such trash occupying the highest levels of the dem party for so long.
Frankly, it´s a huge relief -- if Skippy or Mrs. Skippy attended, they´d be making the occasion all about them. As for Biden, now we don´t have to worry about his embarrassing our country with one of his flaky remarks.
Rest in peace, Lady Thatcher. You served your country, and the world, superbly.
BHO, Mooch, and Bird Brain have individually and collectively been "on the dole" grifters all their lives. Thatcher would have known them for what they are. And besides, Moochelle would have shown up looking like a drag queen. (My apologoes to drag queens).
As a contrast, you may recal that last month the press reported that the US was planning to send an official delegation to the Chavez funeral. As it turned out none was sent because they were discouraged from attending.
Lady Thatcher never wavered in her support for the principles which secure liberty, the very freedom which the USA stands for. It is thus no wonder the militant lefties of this world still revile both Thatcher and Pres. Reagan, for when the Berlin Wall came down & the USSR fell flat, these magnificent champions for freedom proved that statist/socialist tyranny CAN be defeated and those enslaved by it CAN be set free.
For the leadership of any current free country on the planet not to honor so great a champion of freedom as Margaret Thatcher brings disgrace upon that country and is a petty betrayal of Liberty.
0bama & his harpy gaggle of radical dem socialist politicos have no shame.
Rudy Giulliani said it best, "Weddings are optional, funerals are mandatory..." This is a grave insult to Lady Thatcher. The beautiful tribute she played to her friend President Ronald Reagan at his funeral should have been returned by the present American President. Sad...
In a message sent to the Americas on Dec. 12, a day the Catholic Church celebrates in honor of the Virgin Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe in Mexico, Pope Francis, who was named Person of the Year this week by Time magazine, said that America is called to be “a land prepared to accept life at every stage, from the mother’s womb to old age.” The Pope made his remarks during the course of the weekly general audience on Wednesday, and the message for the Americas was subsequently broadcast on Vatican Radio. Dec. 12 is the feast day of Our
Iranian negotiators abruptly ended nuclear talks with Western powers in Vienna on Friday just a day after the Obama administration announced tighter sanctions on Tehran. Iran had threatened that new or tighter sanctions would nullify the recently reached Geneva interim deal, which is not yet in effect. The Iranians abruptly “halted” the talks and left Vienna so that they could consult with higher-level officials about how to proceed with talks following the tighter sanctions, which were announced Thursday morning by the U.S. Treasury Department. “The Iranian negotiators interrupted the talks with the [P5+1] for consultations in Tehran,” a negotiator said on Thursday, according
The schizophrenic South African sign language interpreter who said he hallucinated during Nelson Mandela’s memorial on Tuesday reportedly has an extensive criminal record, including murder, rape and kidnapping charges. According to South African news network eNCA, Thamsanqa Jantjie has “faced rape (1994), theft (1995), housebreaking (1997), malicious damage to property (1998), murder, attempted murder and kidnapping (2003) charges.” Despite his record, the station said it was not clear whether Jantjie has ever served time in prison, as “many of the charges brought against him were dropped, allegedly because he was mentally unfit to stand trial.” Even more bizarrely, it was not
Mike Huckabee’s announcement that he’s considering entering the 2016 presidential fray has the potential to completely shake up the race. That’s because he would immediately leap to be among the front of the heap because of his national name ID and his deep support among Evangelical Republicans. The race is currently bereft of a clear Evangelical favorite; Huckabee would immediately fill that void. Since the rise of Evangelicals as a political force in the mid-1980s, Republican nominating races often see a “surprise” candidate bursting out from the pack with support from evangelicals. Reverend Pat Robertson broke ground in 1988 as that
A 58-year-old airport worker was charged Friday with allegedly planning a suicide bombing at a passenger terminal at the Wichita Mid-Continent Airport in Kansas. The suspect, Terry Lee Loewen, an avionics technician who lives in Wichita, was arrested earlier in the day as he attempted to use his security pass to drive a vehicle that he thought contained explosives onto the tarmac at the airport, law enforcement officials said at a news conference in Wichita. In fact, the car contained only dummy explosives. U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said Loewen spent months developing a plan to drive a carload of explosives to
RUSH: Like Silvio Dante once said on an episode of Sopranos (paraphrasing), "Every time I try to get out, they pull me back in. Every time I try to get out, they suck me right back in." That´s how I feel. I haven´t said anything about this budget deal, and yet I´m being blamed for it now. JOHNNY DONOVAN: And now, from sunny south Florida, it´s Open Line Friday! RUSH: I´ve stayed out of it. You know I´ve stayed out of it. I´ve told everybody I don´t even care about it. It´s the same old BS. It´s the same old soap opera
RUSH: Here´s Wayne in Denver. Wayne, it´s great to have you on the EIB Network and Open Line Friday. Hi. CALLER: Hey, Rush. It´s a great privilege to talk to you. RUSH: Thank you very much, sir. CALLER: Hey, I am a conservative, and I am not going to go away. RUSH: Nor am I, and it´s great to hear you say that. CALLER: Yeah. RUSH: There´s nothing they can do to send us away. CALLER: Yeah. Hey, something else. I listen to your podcast every day, and you hit a home run yesterday when you talked about the cost of drugs. That was absolutely the best
RUSH: Okay, now, mentally strong people, the 13 things they avoid. Now, here´s how Forbes gets into them. "For all the time executives spend concerned about physical strength and health, when it comes down to it, mental strength can mean even more. Particularly for entrepreneurs, numerous articles talk about critical characteristics of mental strength -- tenacity, ´grit,´ optimism, and an unfailing ability as Forbes contributor David Williams says, to ´fail up.´" Do you know people that fail up? I do. My brother knows some. It really irritates him. Do you know people that fail up? The Democrat leadership´s a classic example
RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, another glittering example of one of the greatest gaps, the greatest divides that I think exists in the country. The Democrat National Committee is fundraising off of a joke that I told earlier this week. It might have been late last week. Do you remember, ladies and gentlemen, the story I told you, I´m sure many of you didn´t believe it. You thought, "Come on, Rush, this is a bunch of fringe kooks. This isn´t gonna happen." A bunch of liberals wanted to outlaw men gazing at women because the gaze was said to objectify women.
“I don’t want to be emotional but this is one of the greatest moments of my life,” declared Nelson Mandela upon meeting the Spice Girls in 1997. So I like to think he would have appreciated the livelier aspects of his funeral observances. The Prince of Wales, who was also present on that occasion in Johannesburg, agreed with Mandela on the significance of their summit with the girls: “It is the second greatest moment in my life,” he said. “The greatest was when I met them the first time.” His Royal Highness and at least two Spice Girls (reports are
President Obama keeps claiming that he had no knowledge of the Internal Revenue Service´s abusive muzzling of conservative groups. That line is hard to swallow given that his Treasury and IRS are back at it—this time in broad daylight. In the media blackout of Thanksgiving week, the Treasury Department dumped a new proposal to govern the political activity of 501(c)(4) groups. The administration claims this rule is needed to clarify confusing tax laws. Hardly. The rule is the IRS´s new targeting program—only this time systematic, more effective, and with the force of law. That this rule was meant to crack down on
President Obama isn´t the only Democrat who has had a difficult few weeks. The past month has also been particularly challenging for the woman who has all but declared her 2016 presidential campaign: Hillary Clinton. If this winter is any guide, to win the nomination Mrs. Clinton will have to master her two-step: sticking close to a president still beloved by the Democratic base—as she did this week, flying on Air Force One with Mr. Obama to South Africa for Nelson Mandela´s memorial service—while distancing herself from his unpopular policies. The former secretary of state knows that in order to win
New York — The anchor who might beat Bill O’Reilly gets her eyelash extensions applied one at a time, with tweezers and dabs of glue, about 90 minutes before showtime, right after a motorized gun sprays foundation over her face, neck, shoulders, collarbone and sternum, wiping out a galaxy of light freckles that spreads across her — Let me stop you right there. Photos of the day Uruguay legalizes marijuana, Kiev police pull back from protesters, aging U.S. prison population and more. Tuesday´s Photos of the day Would you write this way about a man? About O’Reilly himself? At least that’s what Megyn Kelly might ask at
In August 2013 I became very sick with what I thought was a cold. After a few days I lost vision in my left eye and I checked into the hospital. I soon found out that what I thought was a summer cold was actually Strep bacteria poisoning my blood stream. The bacteria blinded my left eye, ate a hole through my heart, caused five strokes on both sides of my brain and forced the removal of my prosthetic left knee. Dr. Lee was the surgeon assigned to perform open heart surgery. What was originally scheduled to last four hours ended
The health director who approved the release of President Obama’s birth certificate has died in a plane crash, Hawaiian officials said Thursday. Loretta Fuddy died after the Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft she was travelling on went down shortly after leaving Kalaupapa Airport at around 3:15 p.m. local time (10:15 a.m. ET) on Wednesday. The other eight people on board were rescued, Richard Schuman, president of Makani Kai Air, told NBC News early Thursday, adding that that there was no indication as to why the plane had crashed. Fuddy hit the headlines two years ago when she approved a waiver request allowing Obama to
Fox News host Megyn Kelly has made herself the center of a racial controversy by declaring that Jesus Christ and Santa Claus are white. On Wednesday night, Kelly was responding to an article by Slate writer Aisha Harris, who wrote an article entitled “ Santa Claus Should Not Be a White Man Anymore .” The popular news host told viewers of “The Kelly File,” her hit FNC program, “When I saw this headline, I kinda laughed and I said, ‘Oh, this is ridiculous. Yet another person claiming it´s racist to have a white Santa.’ And by the way, for all you kids
Views of the tea party are at all-time lows in a new poll, as primary challenges to establishment Republicans continue to heat up Washington. Just 30 percent of Americans view the tea party favorably in a new Gallup poll released Wednesday, the movement’s lowest point since Gallup began polling about it during its rise in 2010. Also in a first, a majority of Americans had an unfavorable view of the tea party, at 51 percent. Similar numbers of respondents described themselves as proponents or opponents of the tea party: Twenty-two percent identified themselves as tea party supporters, while 24 percent said they
Columnist Charles Krauthammer attacked new Obamacare rules unveiled by HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in a late Thursday conference call, saying the Obama administration is “approach[ing] banana republic lawlessness” by issuing the decrees. Krauthammer spoke with Fox News’ Bret Baier on a panel with Juan Williams and Judge Andrew Napolitano, as the three reacted to Sebelius’ new directives for insurance companies. “This is exactly a reaction to a deep understanding among Democrats that [Obamacare] is a train wreck,” he said. “And it’s a panic reaction. As the judge said, this is utterly lawless. This now approaches banana republic lawlessness.
WASHINGTON – It’s not exactly a ringing endorsement of the budget deal.“Embrace the suck,” House minority leader Rep. Nancy Pelosi told fellow Democrats Thursday morning, a source told Politico.“We need to get this off the table so we can go forward,” she added. It’s a way of telling her colleagues the budget deal negotiated with Republicans is the best they can get. Democrats are fuming that the bipartisan budget deal doesn’t extend unemployment benefits for more than a million Americans. One of Pelosi’s top lieutenants, Rep. Chris Van Hollen, the top Democrat on the House Budget Committee, said Thursday it
Fearing that many people will think they have health insurance coverage when they do not, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius is "urging" insurance companies to "give consumers additional time to pay their first month´s premium and still have coverage beginning Jan. 1, 2014." Insurance companies should cover people who haven´t yet paid, in other words. With just a few weeks to go until Obamacare takes full effect, Sebelius announced additional changes on Thursday, some that tell insurance companies how to run their business and others that "strongly" encourage insurance companies to waive their rules -- on premium payments,
THE Internet has been abuzz over the spectacle of President Obama and the prime ministers of Britain and Denmark snapping a photo of themselves — a “selfie,” to use the mot du jour — with a smartphone at the memorial service for Nelson Mandela in South Africa on Tuesday. Leaving aside whether it was appropriate, the moment captured the democratization of image making that is a hallmark of our gadget-filled, technologically rich era. Manifestly undemocratic, in contrast, is the way Mr. Obama’s administration — in hypocritical defiance of the principles of openness and transparency he campaigned on — has systematically tried
If you go down on the ice today you´re sure of a big surprise - a rare glimpse of 20 polar bears gorging on a bloody midnight feast. These photographs show a rare cluster of males, females and cubs all dining out on the remains of a whale carcass. They spent a night and a day stripping every last morsel from the mammoth sea creature. Usually Polar bears are solitary and would never tolerate being so close to each other. But with food in plentiful supply and bellies dragging on the floor they seem too lethargic to fight.Wildlife photographer Michal
The Sexiest Man Alive is being enlisted to spice up Obamacare. Pop singer Adam Levine, who won the designation from People magazine last month, is among the celebrities who’ll be promoting enrollment in online health insurance exchanges as part of a social media campaign kicking off tomorrow. With enrollment totals behind administration projections after the botched start-up of the federal exchange, 17 state exchanges joined by an advocacy group are drawing on Obama administration allies in entertainment and sports to promote sign-ups, using social media such as Facebook and Twitter. Reprising a tactic President Barack Obama successfully employed in his 2012 re-election, organizers
A landmark budget agreement that passed in the U.S. House on Thursday faces certain death in the Senate unless at least five Republicans step up to support it--but so far there are no takers at all. The GOP´s Senate leaders plan to launch a procedural effort to kill the plan over a laundry list of objections--including a claim that it short-changes military veterans and other government retirees. Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin conceded that he needs to find Republicans who will vote for the measure after Republicans announced their intention Thursday night to block the deal. ´We need Republican votes to pass
