Newsweek Reporter: Gabby Giffords,
Newtown Families Will One Day Be
More Powerful Than NRA

Mediaite, by Garrett Quinn

Newsweek‘s Eleanor Clift predicted a coming sea-change in American gun politics on this week’s McLaughlin Group. Clift said that the emergence of prominent victim advocates after tragic shootings has changed the politics of guns. “The Newtown families and Gabby Giffords are in the gun debate to stay, and over time their voices will be more powerful than the NRA. The culture of guns is beginning to go through a transformation in this country,” she said. Votes on proposed gun law reforms are expected to take place next week and right now it

Oh puhleeze. Of course the insufferable Eleanor Clift would say something idiotic like that.

In a year, Newtown will be a memory, just like Columbine, Virginia Tech, and all the other school shootings.

The only reason Giffords is still in the news is her cynical husband and other gun politicians love to trot her out like a prized marionette.

This is (another) waste of bandwidth.

Anyone checked gun sales lately?

The "culture of guns" has never been more strong, thanks mostly to those who are attacking it.

Newsweek? McLaughlin? Eleanor Clift? That´s a hat trick of irrelevance if ever one existed.

Poster #1 is right. Giffords is a tool, used by other tools who are themselves tools.

The transformation that the msm won´t report is that more and more "we people" are exercising their God given 2nd Amendment right. Gun ownership is increasing among law abiding citizens not waning. Obama has been the greatest gun salesman in history.

The left has totally become the party of victims. Sad commentary, as opposed to the true conservatives being the party of opportunity and self worth. We have a chance to change America beginning in 2014. Do yourself a favor and dispose of a liberal or RINO and elect a true conservative, with principle.

Giffords appears to be functioning at a very low level (severely mentally impaired). Her husband got caught in VERY public lies when he attempted to be a straw man for the purchase of an AR-15.
The Newtown families will be derided when another incident happens, one that could have been avoided if there were armed people in the facility or home.
The next time there is a shooting killing a large number, the finger will be pointing back at those parents.
Out of a population of more than 300 million, we cannot control all the crazies.
I haven´t heard the parents ask for more screening and help for children at risk, have you?

As a Colorado police officer said the other day (on FOX), "The problem is in the heart of man."

He is right. If the person is not deranged, mentally ill, then he/she is evil. Taking the guns from the law-abiding will make everyone less safe.

Unfortunately, demagoguery and the use of heart-rending emotionally charged situations are the methods the power-hungry resort to with alacrity.

I loathe the way the Dem/Lefties exploit the suffering for their own purposes... NOT the greater good, as they purport their motivations to be.

Jimmy Carter has been very active in the decades since his presidency, and his successors have occasionally called for his advice. Except, it turns out, the current occupant of the office. A clip from Carter’s upcoming Meet the Press interview reveals that President Obama is the first president since Carter left office not to solicit the Southern Democrat’s advice. Carter explained, “President Clinton did and President George W. Bush and H.W. Bush and even Ronald Reagan used to call on us to go into sensitive areas.” They all asked Carter to deal with “unsavory characters,” but Obama hasn’t reached out to

CBS News reported on Friday that a mass mobilization of Russian forces was taking place on Ukraine’s eastern border with at least twice as many troops as the 20,000 number originally reported. The defense “exercise” included tanks and tactical aircraft and appeared to show signs of a logistical buildup required for a sustained operation. In 2011, over 8,000 kids were suspended from preschool — preschool! — in America. More than half were black, despite comprising less than half of the student population.
