Supernanny Cass Sunstein’s
‘Friendly Paternalism’: It’s
For Your Own Good, America

Canada Free Press, by Warner Todd Huston

Original Article

Cass Sunsetein, one of President Obama’s leading left-wing, university eggheads, has penned an interesting piece in New Republic explaining how the nanny state is really a very important and useful aspect of today’s modern Democrat scheme. It’s for your own good, don’t you know? Launching his April 8 piece, “Why Paternalism Is Your Friend,” Sunstein evokes New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s (mostly failed, not that Sunstein says so) nanny state efforts to take away his constituents’ freedom on such things as trans fats, sodas, and guns. Sunstein points out that to his mind, all

Comments:
Sunstein is just one of them. All of them are the most dangerous, anti-American Democrats ever to rule in Washington, Barack Hussein 0bama included as the Supreme Leader. Other than a few, most Americans have no idea how they are the same as the most dangerous dictators ever to rule in this world. Note to Staff, I found the full title after a search, unlike what is shown the site.

Well meaning tyrants are always the most dangerous because they make their proposals with the full approval of their convoluted consciences.

From Wikipedia...all you need to know:

Sunstein was born on September 21, 1954 in Concord, Massachusetts, the son of Marian (née Goodrich), a teacher, and Cass Richard Sunstein, a builder.[1][4] His family was Jewish. He graduated in 1972 from the Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts. He earned an A.B. in 1975 from Harvard College, where he was a member of the varsity squash team and the Harvard Lampoon. In 1978, Sunstein received a J.D. magna cum laude from Harvard Law School, where he was executive editor of the Harvard Civil Rights-Civil Liberties Law Review and part of a winning team of the Ames Moot Court Competition.

...also, he is now a Professor at Harvard Law School and married to Susan Power, another Harvard professor and hardcore Communist.

Someone tell Mama Cass here to back off. For his own good.

America is about Life, Liberty, and Pursuit of Happiness, not about ´friendly paternalism´.

God gives us life and leaves us free -- to freely give our lives to service and defense of others, not to have our lives and livelihoods forcibly taken and our freedom forcibly denied.

Perhaps author Huston is letting something in the back door. A little paternalism is necessary - rules of the road for instance. but paternalism suggests the control and direction of someone of inferior status by someone of superior status. Rules of the road are different. They are laws based on necessary practices as initiated by political action leading to majority consent as expressed in a series of votes - votes for officeholders, votes by congressional committees, and a vote by the whole legislative body. Laws set a standard that all should be subject to. This is not paternalism. As to Sunstein, pretty common for Harvard and similar types to think they know better, they should be in charge, so it´s paternalism they seek, not consent of the governed.

Anyway, yeah these guys just want what is best for you. /s I hear that locking a person up in a padded room, feeding them a regulated diet, sending them for exercise every day for an hour or two, providing their clothes and necessities could be for one´s own good too. That way, the person can´t hurt himself, eat unhealthy food, get hit by a car or trip and fall, get lost, or any other dangers that could happen when one is free.

These evil b----ds make me so angry. They should all be shipped out of the country and forced to live among themselves in some tyrannical dictatorship far away. Send them to North Korea.

WASHINGTON (AP) — In strong, often personal terms, President Barack Obama on Thursday called for vigorous efforts to reverse underachievement among young black and Hispanic males. He also cautioned young minority men not to repeat his own youthful mistakes in an unforgiving world. The president kicked off his "My Brother´s Keeper" initiative from the White House East Room, appearing on stage with teenagers involved in the Becoming a Man program for at-risk boys in his hometown of Chicago. The aim is to "start a different cycle," Obama said. "If we help these wonderful young men become better husbands and fathers and well-educated,

There are Americans today, holding themselves up as conservatives, who argue that one can be both an atheist and a conservative. This is absurd. There is a God, He made us and all things, and His immutable moral laws apply to all men, in all nations, at all times. These fundamental truths--recognition of which is not confined to any particular religious denomination--were embraced by our Founding Fathers. A social and legal order consistent with these fundamental truths is at the very heart of what modern conservatives seek to conserve. William F. Buckley Jr., founder National Review, wrote the following in

Today President Obama announced a My Brother’s Keeper initiative to help young men of color, and present at the announcement were both Al Sharpton and Bill O’Reilly. This odd coupling did not go unnoticed by the president in his remarks today. Obama spoke about the need to “encourage fathers to stick around and to remove barriers to marriage,” among other things, and said it’s clear that this is such a broadly agreed-upon message that it can bring personalities from two politically disparate networks together. “If I can persuade Sharpton and O’Reilly to be in the same meeting, then it means that there

The political headlines of late February, 2014 have perhaps been the cruelest to President Barack Obama as any since those of mid-October, when the Affordable Care Act’s debuted to largely unflattering reviews. But Obama is not fighting tangible events that the White House can frame and shape with rhetoric and gestures. Instead, the White House is battling perception — a far more abstract phenomenon. And voters’ perceptions of Obama’s presidency are not good. “Amid continued pessimism about the economy and direction of the country, 59 percent of Americans say they are disappointed in Mr. Obama’s presidency (including 37 percent who
