Joe Scarborough: Republicans
that filibuster gun control ´put
rapists´ rights over parents´ rights´

Daily Caller, by Jeff Poor

Original Article

Posted By:sparky86, 4/8/2013 11:05:50 AM

On Monday’s broadcast of MSNBC “Morning Joe,” host Joe Scarborough voiced his agreement with Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain, who on Sunday’s “Face the Nation” on CBS questioned those Republicans who are threatening a filibuster on pending gun control legislation. Scarborough said such a filibuster would be an example of the GOP putting “rapists’ rights ahead over parents’ rights.” “[I] tell you what, Richard Haass, I saw John McCain there,” Scarborough said. “And I’m hopeful. Because, you know, there are a lot of guys out there in the Senate and they are going out because it’s a free shot.

Comments:
This is very convoluted thinking on the MSNBC RINO-in-chief´s part.

The goal here isn´t to get a Republican elected for the sake of getting one elected, but to get one elected that won´t promote the growth of government intrusion on people´s lives.

Joe has a lot of aggression issues and really ought to shut his big mouth about the subject of rape. Joe and people like him are the ones who enable rapists because all the gun control measures will only disarm women victims. Rapists can overpower threaten an unarmed woman, they RUN from someone who is armed, or they attack and society is usually freed from another rapist after their last attack.

It´s pretty damn amusing to listen to liberals ranting about ´women´s safety or rights´ in connection to gun control - *particularly* a networks such as MSNBC...

This would be the same MSNBC - who, unless I´m mistaken - has NEVER criticized the treatment of women under Islam - which not only *permits* rape (sanctioned by their most ´senior clerics´), but murder - disfigurement - a whole slew of what can only be described as barbarity - including at this juncture in history - Islamic mistreatment of women in *Western* ´civilization´.

Sounds like the two most prominent idiots in the ´gun control debate´ are both named Joe.
Piers Morgan, on the other hand - makes idiots look bright...

And BTW Joe - the issue isn´t ´parent or rapist rights´ - the issue is Constitutional Rights - as much as that might chafe your liberal arse.

If you go in to buy a gun now, they will do a background check before the sale. If they discover you are a convicted rapist, they will refuse to sell the gun. You can either try again, steal a gun, or commit your planned rape with a knife. But you have total confidence that your attempt will go unnoticed because the feds never prosecute gun crimes particularly in locales that regulate guns.

Scarborough´s point is that Republicans will be painted as being on the wrong side of background checks,
which the overwhelming majority of Americans , including Republicans , support.
Two polls last week had 91 % and 87 % support for background checks.
At present , there isn´t even a bill to filibuster.
Scarborough rightly point out that Republicans will be accused of prohibiting " background checks against rapists, people who have committed manslaughter in the past, people with mental illness,
dangerous mental illness ."
And, when the inevitable next horrific shooting happens-and it will, unfortunately -the fingers will point at the entire Republican Party.
Whether or not a background check could have prevented the carnage.
McCain´s point is that the Senate should have an open and public debate on background checks , let everyone go on the record yeah or nay.
Scarborough predicts that this is going to be another public relations disaster for the Republican Party.
Reid can end the filibuster with 60 votes- he already has 55 , although politically,
he may not want to end it , because the Democrats can use it to paint the entire Republican Party as protecting
the next Adam Lanza, etc.
We are just 18 months and 16 votes away from the distinct possibility Pelosi becomes Speaker again.
If we lose the House , Obama will be unstoppable.

Every effort by any government, including Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, and Communist China, to ban and confiscate guns, began with what those governments claimed was sensible gun control and registration. Millions died at the hands of their own governments because those people were no longer a threat to those governments and could no longer protect themselves. I am a parent, and I fear what my own government is doing to my child´s future right now far more than what some hypothetical rapist might do in the future.

Powerful winds in the Pacific Ocean, which have driven surface heat deep underwater, could be the reason behind the current ‘pause’ in global warming. This is according to a joint Australian and U.S. study which has looked at why there has been a slowdown in the planet’s global average surface temperature over the past decade. Their research shows that trade winds in central and eastern parts of the Pacific have caused warm surface water to sink to the ocean´s depths, reducing the amount of heat in the atmosphere.
