Lord Bell said: "It is with great sadness that Mark and Carol Thatcher announced that their mother Baroness Thatcher died peacefully following a stroke this morning." Baroness Thatcher was Conservative prime minister from 1979 to 1990. She was the first woman to hold the post. Her family is expected to make a further statement later. Baroness Thatcher, born Margaret Roberts, became the Conservative MP for Finchley, north London in 1959, retiring from the Commons in 1992. Having been education secretary, she successfully challenged former prime minister Edward Heath for her party´s leadership in 1975.

Comments:
We are losing all the good, honorable people who have served us so well. RIP Baroness Thatcher.

This is a tremendous loss. Her failing health was known, but the biggest loss was her diminished mental faculties in recent years. She could have added so much.

Now she joins Ronnie and let´s pray they will be watching over us as the free world falls to pieces.

Some of the comments from British news sources are blood-curdling. Commies and lay-abouts still hate Ladt Thatcher. She was principled, stood her ground, and gave no quarter in the queationing sessions we watched on bbc from house of commons.... Seeing her rip into a liberal was a thing of beauty...she did it with facts, not personal attacks. Wish she could have interrogated Hilly Hag over Benghazi. Lady Thatcher would have gotten the answers out of the Hag. Instead, we are threatened w possibility of having the wretched H Hag rule over us and preside over the final dismantling of the USA. Lady Thatcher, rest in peace and pray for the land of your friend, Ron Reagan. What a lady!

Her career was long enough for me to go from young liberal who could not stand her to a mugged-by-reality fiscal conservative/small-government-with-strong-military advocate who could not be more grateful for what she did not only for her country but for the world.

Baroness Thatcher, Ronald Reagan, Pope John Paul II - what an unbelievable combination of people who together had synergies that fundamentally changed the world for the better during an era of peace.

She´s the last of the three; I find myself tearing up. A 57-year-old man probably shouldn´t do that but for this I´m happy to make an exception without shame or embarrassment. Thank you Baroness!

We´ve lost another of the greats who had no quarter or excuse for the greatest evil ever known to man, communism.

The world was blessed to have three wise, good and resolute people such as Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, and Ronald Reagan who did not believe in co-existing with evile, but in confronting evil and working to bring about its downfall, sparking the most widespread liberation of men and women from communist totalitarianism.

Now that they are all gone, we are once more confronted with those who believe they know is what is better for you, who will compel you to give in to their beliefs of whats right, who will use force of arms to disarm free men and women.

If we fail this test, the world will be plunged into a darkness that will make the 85 years of communist oppression merely look like a dress rehearsal for a new Dark Age.

God bless Margaret Thatcher. May she rest in peace.

David Malpass, who ran in the 2010 Republican US Senate primary, also was involved in planning the breakfast, sources said. Cuomo attended a similar event last month. Republicans are unhappy that President Obama is invoking his executive powers to govern in the face of a do-nothing-in-2014 House of Representatives. To hear them talk, you would think our chief executive is modeling himself on the late Hugo Chavez and wants to seize dictatorial control. This, of course, is nonsense. In fact, Obama has in many ways been less aggressive in his use of executive authority than his predecessors. Take the matter of executive orders. According to the American Presidency Project at the University of California at Santa Barbara, Obama issued 147 executive orders in his first term. This compares
