Obama faces choice on

WASHINGTON— President Barack Obama supports requiring girls younger than 17 to see a doctor before buying the morning-after pill. But fighting that battle in court comes with its own set of risks. A federal judge in New York on Friday ordered the Food and Drug Administration to lift age restrictions on the sale of emergency contraception, ending the requirement that buyers show proof they’re 17 or older if they want to buy it without a prescription. The ruling accused the Obama administration in no uncertain terms of letting the president’s pending re-election cloud its judgment when it

How in the name of God did this issue ever reach this point? Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows such medication carries substantial risk and to allow kids access to it without a doctor´s prescription in absolutely nuts.In fact given the possible consequences no one should use morning after pills.

FTA: currying favor with conservatives who want the ruling to stand probably won’t do much to help Obama make progress on his second-term priorities. It won’t help him with Republicans in Congress to get policy matters attended to, Sheinkopf said.

It´s amazing that is the eyes of the media this is strictly a political hot potato(e). No sense of morality or concern for underage girls taking the drug without any guidance.

From what I can see on the box illustrated, it says something about being effective for 72 hours after unprotected sex. Boy I wish Lucianne had italics or bold. Unprotected sex!!!!!!!!!!!! It´s an invitation to pre-teen and up girls to have unprotected sex which, while they may not have to worry about getting pregnant, can lead to all sorts of STDs including syphillis and even HIV. The democ rats/liberals have managed to move their own war on women into the 10 year old range.

Do you realize that in New York City, your daughter (underage or not) can get unfettered access to morning-after-pills and all sorts of contraceptive medication.

But Mayor Doomberg doesn´t want her to take it with a large soda.

WASHINGTON -- House Speaker John Boehner (BAY´-nur) says President Barack Obama likely has the authority to raise the minimum wage for new federal contract workers. But the speaker warned against any other unilateral steps that could encroach on the Constitution. Boehner told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference Tuesday that a unilateral increase in the minimum wage is bad policy that will cost low-income Americans their jobs. He says that will hurt the people the president intends to help. The Ohio Republican said the GOP will be watching Obama to ensure he doesn´t exceed his authority with other executive

Washington- Three numbers to keep in mind Tuesday night as President Barack Obama delivers his State of the Union address: six, 30 and 43. Six as in the number of seats Republicans need to gain this November to take control of the Senate. 30: The historical average of House seats gained by the other party -- in this case the Republicans -- in a two-term president´s "six-year itch" midterm election. And 43%, of course, is Obama´s job approval rating -- a reminder that his political standing is weak, though up slightly from its recent low point, as he stands before

“Repealing and replacing” Obamacare with market-oriented reforms has been the Republican mantra for years now. If you’re a long-time follower of this space, you know that we’re skeptical that Obamacare will ever be repealed, GOP slogans to the contrary. Today, however, a trio of experienced Senate Republicans—Tom Coburn (Okla.), Richard Burr (N.C.), and Orrin Hatch (Utah)—have put forth the most thoughtful and constructive plan yet developed to repeal and replace Obamacare. The plan seeks to ensure that as many Americans have health coverage as Obamacare does. It’s a proposal grounded in the real-world tradeoffs that all serious reformers must make.

Former Vice President Al Gore raised eyebrows last week when he suggested that “fertility management” was the key to fighting global warming and promoting economic development in poor countries. Gore’s comments drew criticism from free-marketeers who said his remarks amount to “eco-imperialism.” “Gore’s agenda for saving the world from global warming has always included population control,” Myron Ebell, director of global warming and international environmental policy at the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute, told The Daily Caller News Foundation. “Advocating population control specifically for Africa is just another form of imperialism. But this magnetic field, so important to life on Earth, has weakened by 15 per cent over the last 200 years. And this, scientists claim, could be a sign that the Earth’s poles are about to flip.
