RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
...and you and Bill O`Reilly are looking out for us...right? I remember not so long ago that you said more than once "I let you know when to start worrying" well that warning never come, and a lot of things got out of control and couldn`t be fixed. When voices with any influence, should have been screaming on the rooftops about Obama and a slew of other pure evil people on the left, we got nothing! I never did have to much faith in "man" but I truly believe that you and a lot of other so-called conservative voices (forget the RINO`s I know they will not speak up for anyone) could have, and could be. doing a better job of looking out for America and care less about losing your precious job!!. You both are RICH, and you will never have to worry about how you are going to make it you have already made it...a lot of good decent American`s will never have that chance.
Socialism is a cancer that kills. We became a socialist country under FDR, but it really started with the 16th amendment, which is a primary tenant of Marx´s communist manifesto. We´ve been growing this tumor for a long time, but now we are a nation in hospice. Obama´s re-election was the beginning of the end-stage.
Careful #1, your bitterness is showing. We the people are responsible...not a radio talk show host. Rush did his job and kept the public informed. Unfortunately, Rush´s wish that Obama would fail did not come true. Obama has succeeded. We are transformed. To find our way back means a long and painful process teaching the next generation what it means to take care of oneself. ...that or the Second Coming. Either way, this regime will have its reckoning.
I can appreciate #1´s underlying fear, but what is Rush supposed to do other than what he´s already doing? Rush is a godsend, especially during these difficult times. Rush hasn´t quit; he hasn´t thrown in the towel.
I believe Rush was warning us what an Obama administration would look like if he was re-elected. You can´t convince those who do not want to hear. The country has become a nation of people with their fingers in their ears saying, la la la la la la. The jury is out on whether or not they will wake up in time or even if it´s already too late. It worries me that Rush is goes negative because he has always been the eternal optimist. However, there comes a time when reality slaps you in the face and you can´t deny the truth. Like most of you, I don´t want to think the United States would ever be in such a decline that we could not pull out of it. Sadly, now I believe it would take divine intervention to turn this around.
Sorry #1... that class warfare ("they´re RICH") dodge won´t fly here. And putting Rush and "Ted Baxter" in the same category is enough to raise the warning flag of "seminar poster" suspicion. (Not accusing... just noting.)
IMHO, this particular lament by Rush was NOT melancholic, end-of-the-week blues... but a green-eyeshaded, economic/demographic audit.
It´s always someone else´s fault isn´t it? #1 made a comment so typical of people.today. Blame someone or something else for failure, take no responsibility. No one is going to save YOU but yourself, that is the reality. Why would you expect Bill O´Reilly or Rush to be your personal rescue plan?
Labor participation is down to 1979 - Jimmy Carter levels to give you this fictitious 7.6%. Record numbers are on food stamps, below poverty lines, on disability. Thirty years of prosperity created by Republicans has been blown by this man in three years. Yet the RINO ridden Republicans are so hapless that all they can do is sit down to split the difference with evil. I have worked hard, obeyed the laws, paid taxes and raised sons who are now in harm´s way for their country. Yes, my bitterness is showing.
I don´t think many sincere battles for the country´s future are fought from outside our geographical borders, #11. When Limbaugh speaks of "leaving", he clearly means leaving the battlefield. It´s ok. The rest of us don´t need him.
Funny, isn´t it, that the all-seeing all-knowing MahaRushee kept Romney at arm´s length and therefore many of his listeners wouldn´t give Romney their full support, either. Now, what. He doesn´t like what´s happened to our country?
#7, respectfully, Rush is not the problem and you´ve got your info wrong.
It´s New Zealand he talks about, not Puerto Rico. Mostly, Rush is the lone voice on the right who has persevered, done an exceptional job of keeping people informed, thinking outside the box, and may be the single person with a huge audience who teaches daily. Glen Beck is doing a good job, too, but he´s far more pessimistic than Rush.
And, #1, Rush did say he´d tell us when to panic, yes. But if he actually does that, he will set off huge repercussions across the country, his influence is that great. He walks a fine legal line between entertainment and incitement or sedition. The FCC and the Left are still trying to shut him down. If they succeed, America will be the poorer for it.
We are living in a dying country. Unless we get some divine intervention or Democrats actually getting it right, we are done for.
WE are our own worst enemy. Rush is just reporting what is going on and trying to give his audience hope where there is precious little of it. Save the vitriol for our real enemies.

It is the combination of the 16th and 17th Amendments that we are paying for now. The 16th let the Feds tax ( instead of existing on trade tariffs). The 17th allowed for Senators to be elected not selected as the state´s ambassadors to DC.
Those two Amendments led to the Senators as Panderers and where we are today.(Lack of term limits didn´t help either.)
For years, Rush has said he is the most misunderstood man in America. This thread is proof of that. Not sure how to even respond to #1. Rush told everyone what would happen to this country if Zero was elected, which is where the "I hope he fails" comment originated. Rush is simply pointing out the state of our economy based on the latest economic numbers. You really need to listen to Rush instead of reading about him or repeating what the MSM tell you. I heard this segment on his show yesterday and, while it was depressing, it was an exact description of the current economic situation.
I greatly appreciated the fact that Rush did not hop on the Romney bandwagon early on. That he gave time to other candidates. That he consistently urged the GOP to choose the most Conservative candidate, not the one who appeared to be the most electable - because Rush knew that the most Conservative candidate would be the most electable.
Rush is truly a "Great American", as Sean Hannity likes to say to his guests. Rush and Sean have both tried to inform those who will listen, that Obama is destroying America as we know it; and that was O´s intent all along (really the intent of his puppet- masters).
Rush has had some bouts with the "powers that be" over the Fairness Doctrine. He knows how far he can push the envelope. Those who want to criticize Rush, should ask themselves - which would you rather have: a cautious Rush still on the air, or a silenced Rush and not on the air?
As far as O´Reilly is concerned, I can´t figure him out. I used to like him, but since 2008 and Obama came to power O´Reilly has become "squishy". I don´t think he´s the force that he thinks he is. He´s also very disrespectful to his guests and won´t let them get their thoughts out without overtalking them. Sean does that, too, and it drives me nuts.
The Old Media still control the conversation, choosing to report lies and rainbows, slurring and burying any contradictory realities. We in opposition are far better informed than ever but it appears to be too little, too late.
No one bears more blame for this mess than the media, it´s a grave new world.
I believe the current decline began in 2003, when the overwhelming force of the worldwide Left in collusion with the MSM managed to turn world opinion against the US and in favor of a terrorist regime - Saddam Hussein´s. This wildly successful campaign so weakened the US will to defend itself, that much of the nation began wondering if its values (which the world now hated and blindly equated with Abu Ghraib) were worth defending. Hence, the election of the anti-American Obama, whose implicit, stealth promise to the electorate was to finish the job and bring the warmongering, trigger-happy nation all the way down, as it deserved.
Respectfully suggest those that have posted here so negatively about Rush ... do your homework and listen to him, to his heart and his love for America... His wisdom and humor continue to be cutting edge...
He is a Statesman and Patriot...like our Miss Lucianne... What does that make you...
While I often listen to Rush and find him to be both an incisive conservative thinker and a great entertainer, I´m finding it increasingly difficult to listen to him. He´s becoming a defeatist. His pessimism is not something I want to listen to for any length of time.
And really, where are our new uplifting leaders? Our next Reagan? We need a new generation of leaders who will reaffirm the greatness of our founding principles and inspire us, not merely share our despair.
I´m no longer interested in complainers and compromisers. I want our new champion to emerge and lead us back to retaking this country.
Rush is just speaking the truth. He can´t control the electorate, who have squandered our country´s future for their own claim to freebies and favors. This extends from crony capitalists to welfare queens.
I´ve listened to Rush religiously for 20 plus years and I heard this segment yesterday. As usual, Rush is right.
The only issue I´ve ever had with Rush is that he, like Hannity, Ingraham et al refused to ever delve into zippy´s eligibility issues. I can´t help thinking that if all of talk radio pursued it, we might have been able to do something about it. Remember that Drudge and talk radio eventually forced the Lewinsky issue to the front of the news despite the LSM trying its best to cover it up. The only conclusion I can draw is that they were all threatened in some way.
It isn’t the sixteenth amendment, or the seventeenth, that set our country on the road to ruin, it is the establishment of a federal department of education and the formation of educational unions both of which allowed socialist propaganda to be systematically sown in our schools.
The production of a cohort of useful idiots in America has enabled Akexis de Toqueville’s prediction to come true; when the people realize that they can vote themselves money from the treasury, the American experiment in democracy will fail.
The low information voters of today are that cohort of ill-educated voters that the Left has produced by means of government schools, run by the Democrats, designed to produce a pliable and obedient voting block which will respond with Pavlovian predictability to the Left’s agenda.
These people re-elected the worst president in the history of the Republic, and they aren’t going away.
Obama and the anti American left are a consequence of too many good people doing nothing over time while evil never rests. What we call the left targeted education and began their efforts to control American schools at every level decades ago. And they were quite open about their intentions. Now we are reaping the results: media that is nothing more than a propaganda mill for the left; millions of functional illiterates who have no idea - or a wholly distorted idea - of the history and traditions of their nation; and "elites" bent on destroying the very foundations of the culture that gave them the freedom to succeed.
The warning to take Rush´s prediction and advice at one´s peril is truly rich, coming as it does from the most relentless Romney cheerleader at this site this time last year.
From time to time Rush does mention New Zealand, not PR (which is part of the US, by the way.) The Kiwis are worth studying. They were stagnating when they adopted some free market style reforms. We always hear that such reforms will create a mean, dog eat dog society but New Zealand remains a genteel and now far more prosperous place.
It´s like the old saying goes, the answer lies not from without, but from within. And I mean that collectively as well as individually. It was only a matter of time before we reached the tipping point. The liberals planted the seeds of infection by taking over the educational apparatus in the 1950s and 1960s, as well as the media. They knew those were the ways to reach a people that was becoming, on the average, more dependent and intellectually lazy. They knew it would take generations, not just years, for the flower of destruction to bloom. We´ve raised two generations now of people who look to others both to blame and to help them. Those of us who were raised with conservative parents now see that our parents are gone and our numbers are dwindling. The cure will require a similar approach. It will be long and painful and may require a complete collapse before a restoration can begin. Listen with the ears of history. Already the storm winds whistle through the decaying branches. To undestand, look with open eyes upon the destruction of an entire racial minority made dependent on government handouts. See the chaos and utter contempt of morality and decency running rampant in the "flash mobs" on the streets of Chicago, while the media and those in authority look the other way or seek to blame others. See the utterly ruined landscape of modern Detroit to visualize the endgame of liberalism and government dependency. How far those formerly great places have fallen. A "dying country"? Hard to argue with that.

I have had my disagreements with Rush, but I have disagreements with other people as well. As for the complaint that Rush was not supportive of Mr. Romney; take a minute and consider all the implications of that statement as well as its obverse.
The LSM has tried for years to make Rush the official spokesman of the GOP inorder to further fracture the conservative coalition. Rush has always studiously avoided any comment of preference on any primary candidate in the GOP, as he should. As for the staff´s addition of Churchill to the home page, well done, but incomplete. The rest of the quote reads:
and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the British Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.

And there in lies our current problem. We have no new world to turn to if we fail here. Yes, Australia is nice, but disarmed. The old world has already gone all in socialist, including Mr. Churchill´s Great Britain. And yes, a select few of our bretheren may find refuge on some unknown south Pacific island, but life will not be as pleasant without the material comforts produced by the first world. No my friends, this is it. November of 2012 was our Rubicon, and either a majority of citizens embraces the comforts of subserviant slavery to the public teat, or there was massive vote fraud and our elected representatives had no stomach for the combat required.
I have written previously that we are living narrative of ´Atlas Shrugged´. I fear that we are now either Hank or Dagney, fight with all our energy to preserve a world that seems bent on destroying itself.
Long before Rush was known, back in 1984, Allan Bloom wrote The Closing of the American Mind. It´s a free download. Get it. Read it. In 1984 it was ignored but it was the last warning bell and it´s why we´re not coming back even though we´ll continue to fight; at least I know I will. It´s over kids but if you blame that on Rush, you really are ignorant. Read the above book. It´s not religious at all, however a nation sans God, yeah, the God of the Bible not the TV series, was given promises that don´t end well for that nation, especially a nation that started out like Solomon´s reign and went way south. That would be us.
Don´t blame Rush. Just take a look at your fellow citizens- those of the tattoo generation, the dancing with the stars people desperately wanting to worship their black American Idol, cool guy. No knowledge of history, economics or anything other than the latest trivia and any news they can snatch from their comedian of choice. It was their votes times two that has accelerated the change.
Judges 21:25 - In those days there was no king in Israel: every man did that which was right in his own eyes.
A cursory review of the ways which the United States has been led into insulting God after our Nation was founded on His Principles ought to tell you everything. Begin with how Washington treats Israel.
If it doesn´t ... time is short for you to figure it out.
#38 that´s easy for you to say but re-set to what. The people who are causing us to fall apart know exactly how they want to re-set us . . . in fact causing us to fall apart and re-setting us has always been their plan. We need to stop, them before we fall apart and they get the chance to re-set us. Fortunately we have elections every two years and so we have a good chance of stopping them.
So, what will the end game look like for the regime? What will they have to hang their hats on, be proudest of? The Destruction of the Greatest Country in the History of the World. Think about that . What kind of Karma comes with that feat? Do you think the Universe will reward such negative intention?
And all those who have benefitted from the successes and LEGITIMATE hard work of American ingenuity will now have very little because the successful are pulling in, no longer caring or trying to participate or sharing with those who just want to steal. IMHO, there is a rude awakening coming to those who militantly think they are entitled when there is nothing left about which to have a grievance. They are going to experience what real impoverishment is, sadly. Welcome to Africa, IMHO...However, there is one Ace in the Hole: our DNA! TRADITIONAL AMERICANS NEVER GIVE UP OR GIVE IN. We overcome. And we will.
Limbaugh is likely the most astute commentator on where America is. There is not a better analyst. However, Rush is mortal. He, like us, cannot see into the future. But he he does forecast better than most.

Rush is correct: we are living in a dying country. It has been a long road, beginning in earnest with FDR, but our own times, Rush´s time, has been the most disheartening to a Constitutional conservative. He has helped the socialist Democrats for years by refusing to call the enemy by name: Democrats. Instead he has always called them by euphamisms, his favorite being "liberals." Democrats mercilessly degrade and villify Republicans by name so as to clearly mark and destroy their enemy. Many conservatives, including Rush, Hannity, Levin will not self-identify as Republican. They have been defeated by Democrats. Also, remember back in the Clinton years when Rush promised to hold the class of ´94´s feet to the fire? Did he? No. He spent endless hours defending Mr. Speaker and his cadre of corrupt handmaidens. He promised to hold Bush´s feet to the fire. Did he? No. He spent endless hours defending one of the worst presidents of all time, turning a blind eye to that progressive wolf in sheep´s clothing. I don´t rely on any talk show host to guide me or help me save my country. Take care of yourselves and your familie´s. That´s all we can do in this rotten bourough of a country.
Presently, I derive a small amount of satisfaction by doing everything I can to NOT feed the beast: Minimize any activity (within reason, and within the law) that involves paying taxes. Do not pay one red cent toward liberal publications/entertainment. Cancel cable. Use businesses with conservative owners, or in conservative locales whenever possible.
#30 has the pithiest comment, IMHO. The fact that King Putt cannot pass E-verify and could not pass ANY kind of government background check is an amazing fact. Sealed records, millions to quash sunlight being brought to bear, and the absolute refusal of any Republican to take this seriously means we are very far along the path to serfdom. How sad for the once greatest nation now in third-world decline.

#1; Your anger is misplaced. Rush can´t tax us, ban our guns and other freedoms, nor impoverish our children. Politicians can and do.
Think of how we allow the left to attack any new conservative voice, Michele Bachman, LTC Allen West, Sarah Palin and now, Dr. Ben Carson and we do not challenge it. I kept waiting for the Silent Majority to show up last November, but no. Too many have given up. I know how distasteful it has been to watch the news and every once in a while to peek behind the MSM´s curtain. But, we cannot give up. We fail ourselves and our children when we give up - and what does that teach them? Rush and BO´R are hardly equivalent!
#27--Thank you for voicing the one optimistic comment on this thread. I can´t bear the constant drumbeat of pessimism, although I confess that I, too, feel our country is on an inevitable decline at times.
We need modern Reagans: bright and optimistic conservatives. I have to believe that this country´s course can be altered.
All the left´s word twisting like double dip recession, going into a recession, recovery are all made up lies. We are entering a depression. Obama´s media just feeds us fake numbers to keep us quite.
I now know what despair people had in the all depressions not just the one in 1929.
Wall Street in no indication of the US economy moving along. It´s a carnival of hipsters playing and hoping to make money in a golbal economy. All of us, a majority, are not playing with the little money we have.
Yes we are a dying country when we don´t have to be. This country was bound and deterined to perform the ´black experiment´ and it couldn´t have chosen a worst one. With Obama´s low IQ and his media this great nation has commited suicide for what reason I don´t know.
This is global and we are part of the global scene rather we like it or not but this great nation didn´t have to die.
An intense hatred for everything American by un-Americans is causing this nation to die. These same America haters could have moved to what they percieved as a great nation, Cuba, but they chose to destroy this one. The communist/socialist tumor just might be too big to remove by simple elections.
#9-that class warfare ("they´re RICH") dodge won´t fly here. And putting Rush and "Ted Baxter" in the same category is enough to raise the warning flag of "seminar poster" suspicion. (Not accusing... just noting.)
You must be new to this website to think that I`m a "seminar poster" I have been here for years!! since the Clinton 90`s and I ´listened´ to Rush for years-as for the Rich comment, he is! no class warfare just the truth. I am not stupid enough to think that Rush or Bill could "save" us from all evil, what I`m ´simply saying is, these two have made their living off and gotten quite rich off of letting us think they are looking out for us, Yes, they both love America and both are good men I`m sure, I just don`t put much truck in what they say anymore..one thing I do know its their jobs to perform to keep their fame and money, and they will do what is necessary to keep that.
Now, some may quibble about details of doctrine, but it would do us all well to remember that the woman who touched Jesus´ robe in Mark 5 had only faith. If you say you are a Christian, and mean it in your heart, by God´s grace you are. And THAT makes America a Christian nation.
America is not dying. Oh, some are desperately trying to murder her. But America is still here. Waiting. They went too far too fast before and inadvertently gave birth to the Tea Party. That scared the whoopee out of them. What will they inadvertently cause us to do next?
Some have given up, and I will admit to being close to that point myself, but another factor is that there just aren´t as many of us left anymore. I was raised by very conservative parents (Dad was a WWII vet, Mom worked all her life as well as being Mom) and they are long gone. I don´t have too many years left myself (60-something). Look at the generations that have followed us. Entertainment nation, tattoo generation, government instead of family. The country is going where the (majority of the) people take it. Right now, if you ask the average 20-40 voter on the street where the solution to the country´s problems lies, I´ll bet you most of them will say "the government". If you ask them who is "looking out for them" (to coin a phrase), they´ll likely say "the government". Most of what they look towards as providing their needs, it is likely "the government". The answers to questions like these gives you a pretty good idea of why we´re heading where we are today.
I second #6. I spent a year in Austria 1969-1970 trying to answer that question. I didn´t then. I do know now. The only, and unfortunately I do mean ONLY way out of chaos is with a dictator. Obozo has brought us into chaos, and G-d help us when we see what this will bring. Tyranny from the right, or from the left. But to the lo-info idiots, they will be happy as long as they have their free obamaphone up to the time they are expected to make the supreme sacrifice for the state.
Once upon a time God founded and then led this country in great blessings of wealth and freedom. Apparently, He can no longer lead this government, but if you let Him, He can lead you personally in the same manner. Let Him.
Read II Chronicles 7:14, and then be one of the people who can bring this country back.
Yes, we are a dying country. The evidence is all around you. It´s just that so many just look but do not see.
I have posted numerous times here that I firmly believe that the only cure for this once great country is another revolution. In that way, we could correct the problems that the original founders could not foresee. Sadly, I´m coming to believe that there simply is not enough people in this country that would rise up and join a revolution. Far too many are too occupied with their own daily lives and who is the next idol, who´s dancing with whom, etc. that the ability to take time to reason and see where the country is headed is being lost. How many people can you count that take the time to read a book? Or have a discussion about current events that doesn´t end up in a shouting match? I don´t think the founders ever thought that Americans would come to what they have become.
Rush: "You are being stabbed and backstabbed to death, over and over. You are bleeding to death. You need a real surgeon now. You need to stop the incompetent doctors from bleeding you, as well as stabbing you. You also need the disinfectant of truth, and God´s healing power. You need help from alies and friends and praer partners. You need to tell them clearly what the problem is. Speak it plain and clearly. You need to arrest or impeach the criminal doctors who are stabbing you and backstabbing you. They need to be held accountable for attempted murder immediately, so they will stop killing you. Do you understand? You are bleeding to death. You are near death."
Stylish Response: "´Never give up. Never, never give up.´ Never, never set your hair on fire. There, fixed it for you. Tea time."
Rush is right 98.8% of the time..(whatever)...However, he always preaches for ideological perfection and Romney just wasn´t perfect...I voted for Romney because I didn´t measure him against perfection....I measured him against 0bama...Far too many DIDN´T...and....there´s a precious lesson in there...
Years ago I read Stephen King´s "Dark Tower" series of novels - 7 volumes and more than 4,000 pages. I´ve been thinking about that story lately because it takes place in a primitive world that has "moved on". It´s a world filled with rusted out obsolete machinery, empty cities and evil people who have no memory of what the machinery was for or who populated the cities. Sometimes I can´t help thinking that our world is about to "move on".
America is a dying country because freedom-loving people are being overwhelmed by lofo´s promised everything by Machiavellian politicians in return for their vote. This is exactly what Juan Peron did in Argentina. Then, after 8 years of corrupt rule, this fascist dictator was forced to flee to Uruguay. Argentina is still a mess both politically and economically. America is rapidly sinking to its level.
#1 does not listen to Rush. Anyone who did knows exactly who President Obama is. The problems we face do not come from conservatives like Rush. The problems we face are created by moderates who are not like Rush at all. The Irony is delicious.
Rush is just chronicling our societal problems. When someone does not work, he does not pay taxes. Mitt Romney explained this very clearly but was rejected by the Moocher Nation (with help from unopposed voter fraud).
88,000 jobs in one month and 82,000 Moochers go on permanent disability. Now we have 8.800,000 people on disability. Please note that at age 65 they transition effortlessly into Social Security payments. Moochers also get Foodstamps, free Obamaphones, meals for their schoolchildren and much more. They watch Netflicks all day long.
So it is not that Rush is a pessimist. The Left-wing extremist Hussein has been the reparations president that ruined this wonderful country. A black cloud cover the Land. No point in fighting amongst ourselves. Better to shame the Democrat coalition of special interests into realizing what they have become. Ideas are very powerful.
#27 – This country’s “new champion” may be in the mature, experienced, resolute and religious faith of Texas Governor Rick Perry. The GOP has some wonderful newcomers needing a bit more political experience before reaching for the presidency. Comebacks are possible: Winston Churchill, Abraham Lincoln, Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Harry Truman.
#44,#49 – Indeed, God rules the universe and everything in it. (Psalm 66:7 – Daniel 5:21) God uses economy, weather, and war as a means of discipline.
The constant in our material world is change, yet many are chagrined. Empires and nations rise, fall and sometimes rise again transformed and not for the better eg. Egypt, Rome, China, Hapsburg Spain, Great Britain, Russia, among others. Their longevity was never preordained; rather it was a function of their decisions. We ´appear´ to be changing and for the worse but we shall see. Regardless, it´s of our own making, as societies get the governance they deserve and tolerate. The inference that ´our downfall´ started w/Obama is beyond preposterous. Far too many remain in perpetual thrall to the GOP, as the ´good guys´. In fact they are every bit as culpable as the D´s but far to many just won´t abide that cold reality.
I´m the same as you, #68....In my 60´s, Vietnam Vet, Catholic upbringing, altar boy, choir boy, College on the GI Bill, AA, BA, MS, Deans Honor List..The teachers always asked us this question back in the late 70´s and early 80´s.."Is America on the decline"?..Today, I would say to them, "Yeah, thanks to you and your ilk!"...
THEY control the message! TV Commercials, tv programming, Hollywood movies, and of course the enemedia newspapers, news shows, talk shows, late-night crap...and Academia, brainwashing and hypnotizing the students with left-wing Alinsky Marxist agenda, only hiring the lefties, the daily drumbeat of school and TV and the papers...how do we counter that? Again, THEY control the message, they mock and ridicule us, I´m made fun of repeatedly by them because I am white, religious, own guns, and am a traditional family, non-abortion, non-illegal alien, patriotic, NASCAR-loving, Hockey-loving,GTO-driving, V-Twin riding, conservative. I am still active, still vital, but what´s dying all around us is those freedoms and liberties the founding fathers bestowed upon this great nation, again, thanks to the Alinsky-taught Low information voters and their army of far-lefties who now seem to outnumber us....Do we need more Caucasian procreation to counter the minority explosion? Is it a matter of numbers? Or are the white kids and grandkids being hoodwinked into the leftist movement too? Mine arent..are yours?
You are a rare breed that is becoming rarer. And, sadly, you and those like you (myself included) are the only ones in the country who can legally be discriminated against, insulted, laughed at, have our feelings "hurt", be offended with nothing done about it, hated, marginalized, made to feel worthless, and all other manner of injury and insult. Yet we are the ones who built the country, defended it, played by the rules, raised our kids, stood by our wives and husbands, took care of our parents, paid our taxes, and shed our blood, sweat, and tears in the long, bloody fight to preserve it all. Now comes along generations of takers who feel they are owed what they have, and if they don´t have what they want, they feel entitled to take it from someone else who they think has what is theirs. That is the real killer of our country and civilization. We have a citizenry who feels that everyone owes them something, and will use "the government" as the means to get it.
#84, I wholeheartedly agree. Sitting around in a pity-party circle, wringing hands and looking for those to blame is not an activity I either enjoy or will participate in. Nothing will be improved, much less fixed, unless we, the citizens, put out the effort. If it must start locally, then we can do it locally, then in states and finally in Washington. For those who insist there is no hope, all efforts are futile, I might let you ride in my wagon while you observe. For a little while.
#68,I would like to politely point out that you are totally mistaken if you use words like "pity-party" to chastise the great comments from my fellow intelligent L-Dotters! You´re not listening! It´s no pity-party",these men and women are looking for CAUSES, for ANSWERS as to why Rush says we are living in a dying country. Read responses from #´s 25, 36, 63, 67, 86 and 87 again and reconsider your attack, it doesnt sound like a very cordial thing to say...No pity party here, we are strong men and women, proud of what we´ve built and disgusted and somewhat shaken by what Obama and his ilk have done to the USA. Dont you get that? Stop with the name-calling and accusations, they dont help...we all are INVOLVED, not just you, so lay off the heavy pats on your own back and try to listen to those on here wiser than you, and that includes the truly wise man Rush! And a big thank you to Lucianne and staff for being here, providing this wonderful salon where we can agree or amicably disagree on hot-topic issues like this one! You folks rock!
There is still a way out -- the States. Many would consider nullifying ObamaCare and Federal gun laws, if they weren´t afraid of the US Army coming down on them. All we need is one President who would give the Governors a nod, promising not to invade.
If Lincoln had not invaded the Confederacy, slavery would still have ended with the advancement of farming technology and morality. More importantly, the Confederacy had a Free Trade policy, and would have set the precedent that States had a right to withdraw from a Federal Government that oversteps its bounds. We would still have Constitutional government!
Yes, there are things we can do. Begin at the LOCAL level because THE MEDIA at the LOCAL level is still relatively untarnished. Our message can be heard there. DO IT! The national media decided to forsake objective journalism in order to represent the voices of "those whose voices are not heard". With the advent of 24/7 news, however, the hourly regurgitation of minority opinion became distorted and began to sound like the majority. Lofos happily accept whatever they´re told, especially repeatedly. Rush has been 100% right about the MSM all along. THEY are the problem. But WHY don´t any of our conservative voices propose that we BOYCOTT the MSM? I don´t get this! No ratings, no sponsors. No sponsors, no business. No business: the MSM is toast. Problem solved. WE have power, but we don´t seem to be able to take action. WHY is that?
RUSH: Let´s go to the audio sound bites. The gross domestic product number is out. And, by the way, I don´t know what this is. There´s a new way of measuring the GDP. The Obama administration is measuring it in an entirely different way, which is showing growth. The standard measure of gross domestic product is showing flat. But this new measure, which the media is applauding and loving, is showing a growth rate of 1.7%, and it´s being hailed. The stock market earlier today was having a pretty good day.
RUSH: In one hour, we´re gonna have Utah Senator Mike Lee on the program to explain in detail and in an understandable way what he´s trying to do. As you know, Mike Lee is leading the effort to defund Obamacare in the United States Senate. The entire Republican establishment has aligned against him. Consultants, establishment bigwigs, party bigwigs, even some donors have aligned against him because they are convinced that attempting to defund Obamacare at the next negotiation, the end of September, on a continuing resolution will lead to a government shutdown,
RUSH: Here´s Brad in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. It´s great to have you on the EIB Network. Hi. CALLER: Mega dittos, Mr. Limbaugh. A pleasure to speak to you. I told your call screener there that I am an attorney. I teach law. I´m a former public official and a Republican, and I advise my clients and my students, "You can´t take legal advice from the people across the table. They´re going to give advice, obviously, that is in favor of their position." RUSH: Exactly. CALLER: That sounds so obvious, why even say that, right?
IRS-Gate: From stonewalling Congress to Federal Election Commission collusion to harassment of already-tax-exempt conservative groups, the IRS scandal metastasizes. Someone high-up was clearly giving orders. ´Phony scandals," to use President Obama´s term, should not generate near-daily news coverage from a media that would like nothing better than to see its dream president let off the hook. Yet everywhere you look comes another bolt of lightning keeping this Frankenstein monster "alive!": • In addition to conservative organizations being ultra-scrutinized in applying for tax-exempt status, existing conservative groups like Morton Blackwell´s Leadership Institute, around since 1979, and the
So why did the French Revolution — initially premised on the ideas of liberty, equality and fraternity — come to be defined by the guillotine, regicide, rivers of blood and the Reign of Terror? To reveal a common historic error, the revolution didn´t start pristine and somehow get hijacked by the likes of Maximilien de Robespierre. He and his notorious Committee of Public Safety ruled through terror and systematically beheaded thousands at the guillotine. The violence was there from the very start, in the bloodcurdling words of the revolution´s propagandists — journalists, pamphleteers and writers, some of whom
The good news is that the Commerce Department´s second-quarter GDP report shows that the U.S. is richer and the economy larger than previously believed. The bad news is that this has nothing to do with anything that has happened lately, and certainly not in the last nine months. The current not-so-great economic recovery trudges on. *** Wednesday´s second quarter report is especially interesting because it includes economic revisions based on new assumptions that re-measure the size of the U.S. economy going back to 1929. The Bureau of Economic Analysis does this every five years or so,
Graft: The relationship between the Clintons and the wife of embattled Anthony Weiner grows curiouser and curiouser. Forget sexting; this may be the real scandal. And one senator sees a possible criminal element to it. Republican Chuck Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, is demanding documents from the State Department shedding more light on the private consulting work that Huma Abedin, aka Mrs. Weiner, performed while working for the government, where she had access to top secret information. Abedin served as former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton´s deputy chief of staff, where she earned $135,000 a year.
If we learned anything about Barack Obama in his first term it is that when he starts repeating the same idea over and over, what´s on his mind is something else. The first term´s over-and-over subject was "the wealthiest 1%." Past some point, people wondered why he kept beating these half-dead horses. After the election, we knew. It was to propagandize the targeted voting base that would provide his 4% popular-vote margin of victory—very young voters and minorities. They believed. He won. The second-term over-and-over, elevated in his summer speech tour, is the shafting of the middle class. But
President Obama promised to mend the failings in the American health-care system, and yet for cancer treatment, ObamaCare is taking a rotten feature of the old system and making it worse. The Affordable Care Act expands a program called 340B, which siphons money from drug makers and insurers to subsidize certain hospitals. The program has been expanded as a way to offset some of the cuts that the law imposes on hospitals. One significant side effect: 340B is increasing the cost of cancer care—and harming its quality. When the program began in 1992, its aim was to support
Most Americans would agree that academic freedom is a sacred right of the academy and crucial to the American experiment in democracy. But what is it really? That´s the question raised by the Associated Press´s July 16 release of emails between Mitch Daniels, when he was the governor of Indiana, and his staff concerning Howard Zinn´s "A People´s History of the United States." The emails were written in 2010 and Mr. Daniels, whose second term as governor ended this January, is now president of Purdue University in Indiana. Published in 1980, Zinn´s "A People´s History"
Fiscal Policy: President Obama has proposed a "grand bargain" with Republicans: They get a tax cut for corporations, he gets more money to spend on worthless government stimulus. That´s no bargain — that´s surrender. In the latest attempt by Democrats to disguise GOP capitulation as centrist "compromise," Obama said he´ll sign off on a cut in the corporate tax rate from 35% to 28% — with an even lower rate of 25% for manufacturers — if Republicans will agree to spend more on Obama´s "investments" and OK a tax hike on U.S. companies doing business overseas.
In Chattanooga on Tuesday, the latest stop on his economic inequality tour, President Obama made himself an offer he couldn´t refuse. If Congressional Republicans agree to a corporate tax increase, he said, then he´ll agree to spend more money on his favorite public-works projects. If Republicans bargain hard, will he also offer an expansion of ObamaCare as a sweetener? We know this sounds like an exaggeration, but that´s the essence of what the President proposed as what he called a new "grand bargain." Mr. Obama will agree to reform the corporate tax code—a GOP priority and one
Arizona Sen. John McCain was the Republican Party´s 2008 presidential nominee and he still wants the keys to the Oval Office. But he is beginning to sound more like a fan of likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "She´s a rock star," he said in a newly released interview. "She has, maybe not glamour, but certainly the aura of someone widely regarded throughout the world," he added in a reference to her work as secretary of State. McCain, reportedly trying to win back his reputation as a GOP maverick, was asked by the New Republic
President Obama has been rolling up his sleeves campaigning across the country delivering a surreal stump speech message supposedly aimed at the middle class: big government works, Obamacare is manna from heaven, the wave of recent scandals are “phony” figments of the imagination, and all economic problems are the fault of the Republicans. Conveniently, he leaves out the bankruptcy of Detroit, a city run by his own party for more than half a century. His message is so stale and unconvincing, that even The New York Times and Washington Post have noticed. Both papers, usually loyal to Obama, remarked that
FORNEY, Texas - George Zimmerman, the former Florida neighborhood watch leader cleared of all charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, was pulled over for speeding in North Texas on Sunday, CBS DFW reports. According to the station, Zimmerman was armed when officers pulled him over on Highway 80 in Forney, east of Dallas. (Snip) The officer reportedly did not recognize Zimmerman, who was driving a Honda pickup. Zimmerman told the officer he was armed and was then told to put the weapon in his glove compartment, according to the station.
Gotta figure her lead would be even bigger without Joe Miller in the field here. Her nomination for the taking? Alaska should be a top tier pick up opportunity for Senate Republicans next year…but their top choice of a candidate is Sarah Palin. 36% of GOP primary voters in the state say they’d like Palin to be their standard bearer against Mark Begich to 26% for Mead Treadwell, 15% for Dan Sullivan, and 12% for Joe Miller.
Embattled Internal Revenue Service official Lois Lerner and an attorney in the Federal Election Commission’s general counsel’s office appear to have twice colluded to influence the record before the FEC’s vote in the case of a conservative non-profit organization, according to e-mails unearthed by the House Ways and Means Committee and obtained exclusively by National Review Online. The correspondence suggests the discrimination of conservative groups extended beyond the IRS and into the FEC, where an attorney from the agency’s enforcement division in at least one case sought and received tax information about the status of a conservative group,
Sen. John McCain — a Democrat? There was confusion Wednesday after the Arizona Republican mistakenly strolled into President Obama’s meeting with Senate Democrats at the Capitol. The room full of Democrats — who happened to be meeting in the same room where the Senate GOP usually holds their weekly policy luncheons — erupted in applause and laughter as the former Republican presidential candidate made his entrance. As McCain, 76, walked out of the Dem-filled space, reporters pressed him as to why he stepped foot in the room.
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
Karl Rove and more than one hundred Republican donors sent a letter to Republican members of Congress on Tuesday, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration reform bill that would include, among other provisions, granting "legal status" to illegal aliens who meet certain criteria. Anticipating that lawmakers will face resistance to the bill when they go home for the August recess, the letter marks the escalation of a campaign in which Republican leaders and donors are pressuring House Republicans to act on an immigration reform bill.
No matter how much you may hope for it, it seems unlikely that you´ll be using the phrase "Senator Sarah Palin" with any great regularity in 2015. A new poll indicates that the former Alaska governor is about as popular in the state as Barack Obama — which is to say, not very popular at all. But even more surprising, while the former vice presidential candidate has made Alaska a central part of her public image, the state´s residents split on the question of whether Palin is all that Alaskan. Conducted by Public Policy Polling,
In her first speech since taking over the Environmental Protection Agency, Gina McCarthy came out swinging Tuesday and promised to ramp up the aggressive climate change agenda laid out by President Obama.(snip)“Can we stop talking about environmental regulations killing jobs? Please, at least for today,” she said during remarks at Harvard Law School. “We need to cut carbon pollution to grow jobs. We need to cut carbon pollution to strengthen the economy. Let’s talk about it positively. Let’s approach this as an opportunity of a lifetime. There are too many lifetimes at stake.”
A sex tape that Monica Lewinsky recorded for Bill Clinton at the height of their scandalous affair has leaked, during which the former White House intern is heard planning a secret sexual rendezvous with the president and declaring she is “too cute and adorable” to be ignored. On the audio tape obtained by The National Enquirer, Lewinsky at one point tries to seduce the commander in chief: “I could take my clothes off and start… well… I know you wouldn’t enjoy that? I hope to see you later and I hope you will follow my script and do what
Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey — whose most recent work includes the psychological thriller, “House of Cards,” about an unethical congressman — said in a recent interview that most Americans just aren’t grasping President Obama’s greatness. “President Obama will go down as having passed some of the most historic bills in the history of this country,” he said, in a recent talk with Hot Press magazine. “That despite constant knee-jerk opposition from the Republicans. A lot of people don’t realize how much he’s done in the most difficult circumstances.” Mr. Spacey is far less appreciative of Congress. “It’s maybe interesting
