As New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg pumps millions of dollars into the airwaves, President Obama is getting ready for a brand new campaign. Obama will travel around the country on a gun control tour, despite Democrat Harry Reid killing Senator Dianne Feinstein´s latest gun control legislation last week. Reid has offered for Feinstein to issue her legislation as an amendment, but won´t bring the legislation as part of a larger gun control package to the Senate floor for a vote. Bloomberg´s pro-gun control group Mayors Against Illegal Guns is
Comments: Isn´t it wonderful that we have a president spending millions of our tax dollars running around the country campaigning against the Second Amendment. s/o
The statists are closing services to the public (WH tours, ATC towers at some small airports, releasing illegal alien felons) so that the King can continue to spend with wild abandon, running around the country on another one of his never ending campaigns.
I hope the numb skull LIV´s out there finally take note of this.
Most amusing! The absolute *slaughterhouse* Obama calls his home-town, with a murder rate higher than Afghanistan, AND the toughest gun laws in the nation...
And the idiot-in-chief has NEVER uttered a public peep about his peeps...
So to recap - he demands more ´registration information´ from a citizen to own a firearm - than he himself has been willing to provide the public in order to be president of the US, while he runs around the country flanked by the same firepower he´d deny the rest of us.
Sequester Obama in the White House until he gives up these juvenile tactics. It really is time for Congress to defund federal agencies that have policies which contravene the United States Constitution. Pile of savings in that action, as well as restoring our liberty.
I agree with #1, Obama will be hitting the liberal college campus circuit preaching to the choir. Minds have been made up on this issue long before Obama appeared on the scene. Gun control is a joke, since criminals and insane people setting out on their own personal suicide by cop missions do not comply with gun control laws, leaving gun control laws to infringe on the rights of law abiding people to keep and bear arms.
The number one question in most intelligent people´s minds is; the Mayors, Senators and a President that keep harping about 1.7 million, felons and mentally ill, were stopped from purchasing a firearm because of the FBI background checks. But how many were prosecuted? How many were institutionalized? How many were contacted at all? And how many times was Adam Lanza denied a purchase? Twice? And your making more law abiding citizens limit the firearms they can purchase will do what? Please tell us you are going to first enforce the laws we already have. Please tell us you won´t release any more violent illegals or reduce prison populations because of budgets. You Mr. President and Mayor Bloomberg really hold our public safety hostage.
A great counter move to this newest taxpayer funded vacation would be for groups of gun owners at each of his stops to hold open-carry demonstrations while he reads the teleprompter. It would insult his huge ego and create a nightmare for the secret service.
I think that the Republicans should start an ad campaign telling the American public about how the Dims, several decades ago, forced the release of mental deranged people and the closure of mental hospitals across the nation. As a result, we have the homeless everywhere we look and the mental deranged acquiring weapons of all types(and they are NOT acquiring them legally)and going on shooting sprees for whatever reason that only they know. And that brings out the gun control crowd.
Our Dear Reader loves all those really cool things, like fying in his big fancy really cool jet, and all those fawning members of his Entourage (just like in that really cool show on tv!), and being before adoring crowds, which is REALLY cool, and parading around in his really cool Beast. Life is really cool as pretend POTUS.
I have read other stories that indicate it cost the taxpayer 18,000 dollar a minute to operate Air Force one(747). To me, Obama represents the greatest threat to our Constitution and every Gov´t employee who has sworn to uphold the Constitution against all enimies Foreign and Domestic really need to wake up.
This man needs to be adored. Bill Clinton had the same problem, but Obama´s is so much worse. I do believe he is totally incompetent for the job, and he knows it, so sitting in the White House trying to work shows up his incompetence. The trips are his way out. Plus I am sure he has a ´´special smoking section´´ on board Air Force One.
The perfect leader for the Low Information Age we now find ourselves in. One of the great thing about America is that the worm always turns and everyone gets eventually found out. And when that happens there is hell to pay. Time is ticking on the razzle dazzle that is bHo and Co.
Ground all of his planes and leave him only the big black bus or 1 "beast " to drive at his expense. Charge him for use of college facilities to speak because he is promoting a private issue not the will of all Americans.
He is spending all the countries money and doing NOTHING. He is the biggest bag of hot air that has ever been in this country. His salary should be about $200 a year with no plane, no body guards, no perks of any kind. He is the biggest farce that has ever held that office. He needs to be impeached - now. We really need a President -- really - really.
Oh, puh-leeze! He would travel around the country on a toe nail clipping campaign! Anything to keep campaigning and not having to do any real work. Check out how many golf days he has on his "New Gun Control campaign".
Every pro-gun control fanatic in the country knows that gun control really can´t work. They know that they cannot win on the issue, and maybe they don´t really want to win. But they are going to throat cram us anyway and attempt to force their way upon us. They will do what it takes to beat us, and this is part of it. They are better and smarter, doncha know?
The Federal government has the responsibility to: Maintain and supply the military Protect our borders provide the infrastucture all the rest is for the States. He, his wife and kids need to sit home on their arses. Someone needs to tell Obama we can´t afford a Federal gov´t. anymore.
If Obie gets a concealed carry permit and can show me what he is carrying, maybe I´ll listen to him. If not, Obie, bugger off, pal.

Obama/Soetoro knows that the ONLY way he can implement the rest of his foul agenda is to take Americans´ guns away first. It ain´t going to work.
The "bitter clingers" must have trillions of rounds of ammunition, which is no match for 1.b billion plus 350K rounds of ammo purchased by DHS. Just love the guys on reality TV who are building artillery. Who´s going to take their toys away from them?
He has to disarm the public. Either by buying up all the ammo of getting rid of our guns. He has to reduce the the populace´s ability to mount an uprising. He announced early on that he wants a civilian army bigger and better funded than the US Army. Why else would the DHS be building this military force? I think he knows his actions will be unpopular and there will be some sort of uprising and he is going to put it down with force. The Constitution be damned. Rev Wright must be proud of him and his buddies.
In other news, we have yet another sub-class of white male hetero perp on the idiot box: CONSTITUTIONAL EXTREMISTS (gasp). Thats right, there are people out there who actually believe in the full and obvious intent of the Constitution. And the Bill of Rights. And belt-fed weapons.
"They didn’t care about how they looked. It was just fierce indifference to human life that caused America to say enough is enough. ‘I don’t want to see it and I am not a part of it.’ What the hell! If you have to bomb little kids and send dogs out against human beings, give me a break." But Rangel had praise for a few Republicans. He mentioned New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, citing Christie´s criticism of House Republicans for delaying a vote on federal relief aid for states hit by Hurricane
The House voted Friday to prevent the IRS from enforcing any aspect of ObamaCare, a bill meant to exact revenge against an agency that Republicans say is incapable of neutral enforcement of the law. Members approved the Keep the IRS Off Your Health Care Act in a 232-185 vote. Four Democrats supported the bill along with every Republican. The vote capped off several days of work in the House on bills aimed at reining in government regulation and government overreach. House Democrats cast the votes as merely for show, given opposition from the White House and the Senate
The Los Angeles and Chicago metropolitan areas had the most gun murders among the nation’s fifty most-populous metropolitan areas in 2009 and 2010 (the latest years for which date is available), according to a report released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. During those two years, 1,141 people were gunned to death in the Los Angeles metropolitan area and 1,139 were gunned to death in the Chicago metropolitan area. The New York metropolitan area ranked third with 1,101 gun homicides. The Los Angeles, Chicago and New York metropolitan areas also ranked one,
Terrorist-supporting conservative uberhawk Rep. Peter King (R-New York), sounding very much like a man feeling left out of the Chris Christie vs. Rand Paul story, played the McCainesque America-Firster card against Paul Wednesday on CNN: [W]hat this reminds me of, someone like Senator Paul and others in that isolationist wing -- now, the Republicans had this debate back in the 1930s when you had the isolationists and the Charles Lindberghs that said we should appease Hitler. And the Democrats had it in the
EACH of us took turns over the past 43 years running the Environmental Protection Agency. We served Republican presidents, but we have a message that transcends political affiliation: the United States must move now on substantive steps to curb climate change, at home and internationally. There is no longer any credible scientific debate about the basic facts: our world continues to warm, with the last decade the hottest in modern records, and the deep ocean warming faster than the earth’s atmosphere. Sea level is rising. Arctic Sea ice is melting years faster than projected.
Let’s stipulate a fact: Most men cannot complete US Marine Corps combat training. Let’s stipulate another fact: Washing out trainees who cannot complete the training is one of the purposes of the training. Keep those who can complete it, weed out those who can’t. Let’s stipulate another fact: Washing out trainees who cannot complete the training saves lives by eliminating weak links in combat units. “Weak,” in the context of military combat training, encompasses physical and mental. Most people simply are not suited to military combat, male or female. The Pentagon is trying to integrate
Sen. John McCain appears cautiously optimistic that the House of Representatives will ultimately pass some kind of immigration reform — and says that the GOP is doomed in the 2016 presidential contest if the effort fails. “The crystal ball is a little cloudy because I think August is going to be a very seminal month,” he said, pointing out that members are back interacting with constituents and that a broad coalition of interest groups back comprehensive immigration reform. Mr. McCain was part of a bipartisan group that helped
The State Department issued a worldwide travel alert on Friday to U.S. citizens over an Al Qaeda terror threat, as the U.S. government prepared to close its embassies and consulates throughout the Muslim world this Sunday over security concerns. U.S. officials have not offered many details on the nature of the threat, but apparently are taking it seriously. John Bolton, former U.S. ambassador to the U.N., said the alert indicates the U.S. government must have some "pretty good information" about a possible threat. The travel alert issued Friday warned Americans of the
On Wednesday’s “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa reacted to criticisms from conservative talk show host Mark Levin had made on the same program just 24 hours earlier. In that appearance, Levin suggested the House Republican leadership wasn’t doing its due diligence in investigating the scandals involving the Obama administration, including the Benghazi terrorist attacks and the targeted audits of the Internal Revenue Service. Issa explained to Cavuto that his investigators and his committee were doing its best to connect all the dots,
The House approved an amendment to legislation Friday that would prevent the White House from imposing a carbon tax without congressional approval. The lower chamber agreed to Rep. Steve Scalise’s (R-La.) amendment by a 237-176 vote, with 12 Democrats crossing the aisle to support it. The amendment was added to an underlying bill that would require Congress to OK regulations that carry a $100 million economic impact or greater. That bill is dead in its tracks in the Democratic-controlled Senate, and the White House has threatened to veto it. Scalise’s measure doesn’t
Congress can breath easy now since it won’t be subjected to the ironically titled Affordable Care Act. As I mentioned on Tuesday, according to the New York Times, many in Congress were “freaking out” about having to get their insurance through the Obamacare exchanges without the lavish subsidies that they usually benefit from as federal employees. Manhattan Institute’s Avik Roy has a good summary of the issue t:his morning. Here is a tidbit: According to John Bresnahan and Jake Sherman of Politico, President Obama has personally involved himself in the
I think she’s one of the most fascinating women of our time and this world,” confessed Bob Greenblatt, the chairman of NBC, as part of his announcement that his network is making a miniseries about former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, with Diane Lane in the starring role. Words are funny things. For instance, G.K. Chesterton once remarked that that the word “good” has many uses: “For example, if a man were to shoot his grandmother at a range of 500 yards, I should call him a good shot but not necessarily a good man.” So it is,
Colin Powell has admitted to exchanging ´very personal´ emails with a Romanian diplomat but denies having an affair with the much younger woman after a hacker threatened to release their intimate messages. The 76-year-old retired general told the Smoking Gun that he met Corina Cretu, 45, roughly 10 years ago when she was working as an assistant to the president of Romania. She is now a member of the European Parliament. ´After I left the Department of State in January 2005 we stayed in touch via email,´ he told TSG.
Mark Levin, who hosts one of America´s top radio talk shows and is considered by supporters to be the people´s pundit on the Constitution, is rallying his 8.5 million-strong audience to demand an historic convention of state governments to halt the "oppressive power" of the federal government. The author of two New York Times bestsellers on the threats to the Constitution, Levin hopes his latest, "The Liberty Amendments," out mid-August, will spark the state lawmakers to tap a rarely used Constitutional provision to institute measures that would brake President Obama´s use of executive orders, bar thousand-page laws and
CNN has uncovered exclusive new information about what is allegedly happening at the CIA, in the wake of the deadly Benghazi terror attack. Four Americans, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens, were killed in the assault by armed militants last September 11 in eastern Libya. Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret. CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy
The former commander of special operations in Northern Africa told a closed-door briefing today that he was largely detached from events the night of the Benghazi attack as he was traveling at the time. The testimony of Col. George H. Bristol, USMC, Former Commander, Joint Special Operations Task Force-Trans Sahara, Marine Corps Forces Special Operations Command Africa, had been eagerly anticipated by members of Congress. Originally, lawmakers had been told by the Defense Department that he had retired — the actual date is Aug. 1, an “administrative error” according to the Pentagon — and that they didn’t have
Arizona Sen. John McCain was the Republican Party´s 2008 presidential nominee and he still wants the keys to the Oval Office. But he is beginning to sound more like a fan of likely 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. "She´s a rock star," he said in a newly released interview. "She has, maybe not glamour, but certainly the aura of someone widely regarded throughout the world," he added in a reference to her work as secretary of State. McCain, reportedly trying to win back his reputation as a GOP maverick, was asked by the New Republic
Serial sexter Anthony Weiner’s wife partly blamed herself last year when her horndog husband confessed to her that he was at it again. Friends and family told People magazine that Huma Abedin was kicking herself at the time for bailing out of couples counseling and focusing more on their newborn baby boy. But, thanks to a new round of joint therapy that continues even now, the couple was able to put the relapse behind them. “They really became a unit, and she feels much closer to Anthony now,” a relative told the magazine. That’s a long way from how Abedin
The United States will temporarily shut down its embassies and consulates around the world Sunday, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan and Egypt, as a precautionary measure, the State Department said Thursday. State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf did not say how long the international installations would stay closed -- only that the decision was taken “out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting.” Sunday is a normal workday in many Arab and Middle Eastern countries. Embassies in Europe and Latin America would be shuttered that day anyway.
In preparation for the release of Oscar-bait film The Butler, Forest Whitaker, Oprah Winfrey, and director Lee Daniels (Precious) sat down with Parade magazine. The film chronicles a butler (Whitaker) who works in the White House through seven administrations. Winfrey plays the butler’s wife. In the interview, Winfrey explained her sadness that so few Americans know about the history of the civil rights movement: “They don’t know diddly-squat. Diddly-squat.” She then said of the historic use of the n-word, “I always think of the millions of people who heard that as their last
If we learned anything about Barack Obama in his first term it is that when he starts repeating the same idea over and over, what´s on his mind is something else. The first term´s over-and-over subject was "the wealthiest 1%." Past some point, people wondered why he kept beating these half-dead horses. After the election, we knew. It was to propagandize the targeted voting base that would provide his 4% popular-vote margin of victory—very young voters and minorities. They believed. He won. The second-term over-and-over, elevated in his summer speech tour, is the shafting of the middle class. But
American scientists claim the planet is undergoing one of the largest changes in climate in the past 65 million years. Climatologists at Stanford Woods Institute for the Environment have warned the likely rate of change over the next century will be at least 10 times quicker than any climate shift since the dinosaurs became extinct. If the trend continues at its current rapid pace, it will place significant stress on terrestrial ecosystems around the world, and many species will need to make behavioral, evolutionary or geographic adaptations to survive, they said.
[Video] Ouch. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie turned down an offer by Sen. Rand Paul to join him for a beer and bury the hatchet in their ongoing -- and very public -- feud. "I´m running for re-election in New Jersey. I don´t really have time for that at the moment," Christie said in an interview on a local radio station. The New Jersey governor said if he finds himself in Washington, "I´ll certainly look him up." But he added: "I don´t suspect I´ll be there anytime soon. I´ve got work to do here."
Hollywood actor Kevin Spacey — whose most recent work includes the psychological thriller, “House of Cards,” about an unethical congressman — said in a recent interview that most Americans just aren’t grasping President Obama’s greatness. “President Obama will go down as having passed some of the most historic bills in the history of this country,” he said, in a recent talk with Hot Press magazine. “That despite constant knee-jerk opposition from the Republicans. A lot of people don’t realize how much he’s done in the most difficult circumstances.” Mr. Spacey is far less appreciative of Congress. “It’s maybe interesting
