Thanks but no thanks: Tree gifted
by President Obama to Israel
this morning is dug up hours
later for ´pest´ testing

Daily Mail [UK], by James Nye

Barack Obama´s first tricky presidential visit to Israel has not gotten off to an auspicious start. First his $1.5 million armored car known as ´Beast´ broke down in embarrassing circumstances and now it seems his Israeli hosts have dug up a beautiful magnolia tree he planted in the morning in the name of peace. [Snip] President Obama told Peres, ´It is an incredible honor to offer this tree to this beautiful garden, and to someone who is champion of the Israeli people and a champion of peace.´ However, The Times of Israel and Israeli news website Ynet reported that

Comments:
Wow! Look at that tree-planting style. THIS is how it should be done:

Too bad about the tree. But a pest DID touch it after all.

Every time I go to read a UK paper´s articles,I get sidetracked by lofo celebrity gossip.I mean Taylor swift is dating some sort of beach bum surfer? The only positive news out of that is at least he´s white.Tiger Woods has another white woman that the celebrity cult can´t get enough of.

But anyway,I don´t get this tree thing at all.Somebody had to know an imported plant or tree going into Israel had to go through a rigorous 10 point inspection to make sure it wouldn´t wipe the country out with a contagious disease and now the exam will take months before it can be replanted.

Is this just really a lame excuse to dig the tree up and the real reason was a repudiation of Obama in general.

And what about that sharpie limo driver who didn´t know the car took diesel? Did he miss this in training sessions or has a new level of incompetency hit these people.

Since the tree has to be quarantined for six months to make sure it is disease free and Obama touched the tree he should be quarantined for six months as well.

It´s usually a big deal to move botanical specimens across national borders, possible invasive species and all. We have quite a few locally, including ailanthus altissima fraudulently call the "Tree of Heaven" and imported from China, late 18th cent.

But obama knows best. He is a world class genius, ya know.

Maybe I´ve seen too many movies, but I don´t buy the takes-diesel story. Not even an entry level Secret Service agent would not know what fuel to put in the Prezzie´s main limo.

Something else was going on and this fuel mixup nonsense is the cover story. I´m guessing some kind of sabotage or plot found out.

As for the tree, what a stupid thing to do. We all love trees and the symbolism of a living, growing thing - but, really? A tree native to the American Deep South, from Mr. Racism?

I suspect he´s delivering a message, more than a tree. Monkeys and pigs, perhaps?

What ´´gift´´ did he take to Ramallah? (A: Himself! badabing!)

In the U.S. the diesel nozzle is a different the size from the gasoline nozzle, as well as the filler holes on the vehicle. This was done to alert the fool that they are using the wrong fuel. I do not know if this standard is the same in Israel.

A Magnolia Tree is a good choice to offer to Israel given the temperature ranges. However, the fact that the POTUS crew did not consider customs clearance and send the tree over in July of 2012 is just pathetic. As for the fuel story, I don´t buy it. Unless you are going to tell me that the White House fired all the drivers from the Secret Service and replaced them with temporary staff from Manpower, this just doesn´t pass the giggle test. Even if the nozzle sizes were the same, diesel has a different smell. The fact that diesel has a higher vapor pressure means that it doesn´t evaporate off the nozzel, consequently it attracts dust making everything look a little dirty. No, something else is afoot here.

I don´t buy the diesel fuel story. I think it was a message to B0 that he can be gotten to.

Don´t most newer diesel vehicles have a sticker somewhere near where the nozzle fits saying diesel only?

And don´t they take 2 limos for the president on these trips so they have an emergency backup for things like this?

Somewhere, among the 600 people on this roadshow, there has to be at least one functioning brain.

Incompetence at the top will eventually spread down to all levels. I can’t buy the fuel story either. If the limo buns diesel, why wouldn’t it be fueled up from the git-go? It’s unloaded off the plane and first thing they have to do is re-fuel it? From what? From where. From a local source? Doesn’t make any sense!

Barry the Boy King gives the Queen an I-pod with his telepromter speeches that doesn´t work on UK power. Lucky Queen and stupid Barry.

Now the ´black panther´ driver of the limo puts gasoling in a desiel car. Put a sticker on the inside of the fuel window ´Diesel Only You Stupid Idiot´.

So Barry the Boy King thinks the simplest easist way to cheap out on a gift is a tree.
An edible arrangement might have been a better choice. It seem Barry skills with that shovel should tell you he didn´t confer with his illegal alien Mexican gardener before the trip.

The Beast story can´t be true. Everyplace the president goes, they take fuel for AF1 and the other vehicles as a security measure. They are not going to drive up to the nearest gas station and "fill ´er up".
Somebody needs to do some invetigation journalism on this story. Oh, how stupid of me to think that would ever happen.

Photos plastered all over Israeli media of Obama giving his teleprompter speech directly under a giant Arafat sign. As Caroline Glick said, most Israelis have no idea why he is there.

Something is fishy about the gas/diesel story. We may get the real truth after he´s out of the country.

Good analysis #15. This visit is like two country club members who despise each other jockeying back and forth in a cold war. There probably is something secrete & symbolic in Obama giving that variety of tree, there is always some kind of mind game/inference to most everything he does. [That potential modus reminds of how after the Germans invaded Paris in WWII, they found and dragged out an old railway car where the armistice ending WWI was signed as an in your face "take that" measure and obewon is no different.]

Ahhhh the presidential limosine bwoke down: Obama might have to walk. Hope he doesn´t collapse from all that work and shoveling a spoon full of dirt. He looks pretty brittle/frail. What kind of people does he hire who don´t even know what kind of engine his limo has? ha ha ha ha. Obama has the same problem-he´s putting the wrong "gas" into the economy as in oppressive taxes a la ACA and the 2013 payroll tax hike, EPA regulation, etc.

Like others, I simply don´t believe a single word about putting gasoline in a diesel engined vehicle. Like said before, AF 1 has it´s fuel tested before any flight and put under armed guard. The same is done with "The Beast". All of this is under the guise of security for the president. And I´m not going to believe that the fuel tank is drained prior to transporting it in an airplane. The military transports fully fueld vehicles all the time. And as small a Israel is, you cound drive around it many times on a single tank of fuel. Something here smells to high heaven.

The Israelis should wait until Obama leaves the country and then burn the tree. As far as the "beast" story goes, I think Obama and his entourage remind me more of the Three Stooges every day. How come Obama can afford to take along an entourage of
600 people to Israel, but can´t afford to keep the White House tours for American citizens? This whole trip is sickening on so many levels. Obama is a Schlemiel.

Ha-ha #1.

Aside from the tree´s health prior to arrival in Israel, it wouldn´t live long the way it was planted, which was TOO deep.

There´s a bizarre quality about the entire visit, from before AF1 took off from the USA.

As the US and China grow increasingly involved, Kim Jong-un must be brought into line if war is not to be triggered by an act of recklessness. There are two schools of thought about what lies behind North Korea’s increasingly frenzied posturing. The first goes like this: the rhetoric emanating from Pyongyang--including calls to “break the waists of the crazy enemies [and] totally cut their windpipes”--is no worse than their decades-old ritualistic promises to turn South Korea into a “sea of fire”. President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explained to the Women in the World summit in New York today that the clock is turning back for women in America. Clinton praised her own mother for helping empower her to success and marveled at the opportunities that her own daughter Chelsea has pursued. But Clinton warned that there is still so much to do to promote women´s rights in America. "As I look at all these young women that I am privileged to work with, or know through Chelsea, and its hard to imagine turning the clock on them," Clinton said.

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

SANFORD - Trayvon Martin´s parents have settled a wrongful death claim for an amount believed to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their teenage son was killed. Their attorney, Benjamin Crump, filed that paperwork at the Seminole County Courthouse, a portion of which was made public today. In the five pages of the settlement that were available for public review, the settlement amount had been marked out. Lower in the agreement, the parties specified that they would keep that amount confidential. When asked during an earlier interview whether the amount was

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
