Thanks but no thanks: Tree gifted
by President Obama to Israel
this morning is dug up hours
later for ´pest´ testing

Daily Mail [UK], by James Nye

Barack Obama´s first tricky presidential visit to Israel has not gotten off to an auspicious start. First his $1.5 million armored car known as ´Beast´ broke down in embarrassing circumstances and now it seems his Israeli hosts have dug up a beautiful magnolia tree he planted in the morning in the name of peace. [Snip] President Obama told Peres, ´It is an incredible honor to offer this tree to this beautiful garden, and to someone who is champion of the Israeli people and a champion of peace.´ However, The Times of Israel and Israeli news website Ynet reported that

Comments:
Wow! Look at that tree-planting style. THIS is how it should be done:

Too bad about the tree. But a pest DID touch it after all.

Every time I go to read a UK paper´s articles,I get sidetracked by lofo celebrity gossip.I mean Taylor swift is dating some sort of beach bum surfer? The only positive news out of that is at least he´s white.Tiger Woods has another white woman that the celebrity cult can´t get enough of.

But anyway,I don´t get this tree thing at all.Somebody had to know an imported plant or tree going into Israel had to go through a rigorous 10 point inspection to make sure it wouldn´t wipe the country out with a contagious disease and now the exam will take months before it can be replanted.

Is this just really a lame excuse to dig the tree up and the real reason was a repudiation of Obama in general.

And what about that sharpie limo driver who didn´t know the car took diesel? Did he miss this in training sessions or has a new level of incompetency hit these people.

Since the tree has to be quarantined for six months to make sure it is disease free and Obama touched the tree he should be quarantined for six months as well.

It´s usually a big deal to move botanical specimens across national borders, possible invasive species and all. We have quite a few locally, including ailanthus altissima fraudulently call the "Tree of Heaven" and imported from China, late 18th cent.

But obama knows best. He is a world class genius, ya know.

Maybe I´ve seen too many movies, but I don´t buy the takes-diesel story. Not even an entry level Secret Service agent would not know what fuel to put in the Prezzie´s main limo.

Something else was going on and this fuel mixup nonsense is the cover story. I´m guessing some kind of sabotage or plot found out.

As for the tree, what a stupid thing to do. We all love trees and the symbolism of a living, growing thing - but, really? A tree native to the American Deep South, from Mr. Racism?

I suspect he´s delivering a message, more than a tree. Monkeys and pigs, perhaps?

What ´´gift´´ did he take to Ramallah? (A: Himself! badabing!)

In the U.S. the diesel nozzle is a different the size from the gasoline nozzle, as well as the filler holes on the vehicle. This was done to alert the fool that they are using the wrong fuel. I do not know if this standard is the same in Israel.

A Magnolia Tree is a good choice to offer to Israel given the temperature ranges. However, the fact that the POTUS crew did not consider customs clearance and send the tree over in July of 2012 is just pathetic. As for the fuel story, I don´t buy it. Unless you are going to tell me that the White House fired all the drivers from the Secret Service and replaced them with temporary staff from Manpower, this just doesn´t pass the giggle test. Even if the nozzle sizes were the same, diesel has a different smell. The fact that diesel has a higher vapor pressure means that it doesn´t evaporate off the nozzel, consequently it attracts dust making everything look a little dirty. No, something else is afoot here.

Don´t most newer diesel vehicles have a sticker somewhere near where the nozzle fits saying diesel only?

And don´t they take 2 limos for the president on these trips so they have an emergency backup for things like this?

Somewhere, among the 600 people on this roadshow, there has to be at least one functioning brain.

Incompetence at the top will eventually spread down to all levels. I can’t buy the fuel story either. If the limo buns diesel, why wouldn’t it be fueled up from the git-go? It’s unloaded off the plane and first thing they have to do is re-fuel it? From what? From where. From a local source? Doesn’t make any sense!

Barry the Boy King gives the Queen an I-pod with his telepromter speeches that doesn´t work on UK power. Lucky Queen and stupid Barry.

Now the ´black panther´ driver of the limo puts gasoling in a desiel car. Put a sticker on the inside of the fuel window ´Diesel Only You Stupid Idiot´.

So Barry the Boy King thinks the simplest easist way to cheap out on a gift is a tree.
An edible arrangement might have been a better choice. It seem Barry skills with that shovel should tell you he didn´t confer with his illegal alien Mexican gardener before the trip.

Next time Barry just give a Hallmark card with a bookmark in it.
This is what happens when a low IQ illiterate who runs with like minded illiterates cruises the world acting like a King.

The Beast story can´t be true. Everyplace the president goes, they take fuel for AF1 and the other vehicles as a security measure. They are not going to drive up to the nearest gas station and "fill ´er up".
Somebody needs to do some invetigation journalism on this story. Oh, how stupid of me to think that would ever happen.

Photos plastered all over Israeli media of Obama giving his teleprompter speech directly under a giant Arafat sign. As Caroline Glick said, most Israelis have no idea why he is there.

Something is fishy about the gas/diesel story. We may get the real truth after he´s out of the country.

Good analysis #15. This visit is like two country club members who despise each other jockeying back and forth in a cold war. There probably is something secrete & symbolic in Obama giving that variety of tree, there is always some kind of mind game/inference to most everything he does. [That potential modus reminds of how after the Germans invaded Paris in WWII, they found and dragged out an old railway car where the armistice ending WWI was signed as an in your face "take that" measure and obewon is no different.]

Ahhhh the presidential limosine bwoke down: Obama might have to walk. Hope he doesn´t collapse from all that work and shoveling a spoon full of dirt. He looks pretty brittle/frail. What kind of people does he hire who don´t even know what kind of engine his limo has? ha ha ha ha. Obama has the same problem-he´s putting the wrong "gas" into the economy as in oppressive taxes a la ACA and the 2013 payroll tax hike, EPA regulation, etc.

Like others, I simply don´t believe a single word about putting gasoline in a diesel engined vehicle. Like said before, AF 1 has it´s fuel tested before any flight and put under armed guard. The same is done with "The Beast". All of this is under the guise of security for the president. And I´m not going to believe that the fuel tank is drained prior to transporting it in an airplane. The military transports fully fueld vehicles all the time. And as small a Israel is, you cound drive around it many times on a single tank of fuel. Something here smells to high heaven.

The Israelis should wait until Obama leaves the country and then burn the tree. As far as the "beast" story goes, I think Obama and his entourage remind me more of the Three Stooges every day. How come Obama can afford to take along an entourage of
600 people to Israel, but can´t afford to keep the White House tours for American citizens? This whole trip is sickening on so many levels. Obama is a Schlemiel.

Aside from the tree´s health prior to arrival in Israel, it wouldn´t live long the way it was planted, which was TOO deep.

There´s a bizarre quality about the entire visit, from before AF1 took off from the USA.

1. The BBC knows it´s in trouble and is desperate to prove it still has meaning. Nigel Farage was tonight accused of being ´dangerous´ after admitting he ´admires´ Russian President Vladimir Putin and defending Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad. Two snap polls showed the Ukip leader easily triumphed in the second live TV debate with Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg, in which he urged voters to join a ´People´s Army´ to topple the political establishment in Brussels. But Mr Farage was forced on to the defensive after claiming Assad did not use chemical weapons against the Syrian people. In the nightmare world of George Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, three vast totalitarian states were permanently at war. Big Brother needed outside enemies to rally the masses behind his rule. As ever, real life suggests that Orwell was on to something: authoritarian states do seem more likely to go to war; democracies, by contrast, very rarely fight one another. The country which might have modelled itself on Orwell’s vision, North Korea, duly tells its people that they are permanently on the brink of war. Whenever the tension with South Korea eases, North Korea always turns the temperature back up again. Only

I’ve been too cynical about these debates: tonight’s was brilliant. How exciting to see two people, representing opposite ends of our political divide, actually discussing competing visions for what Britain is and what it should be. [Snip] Britain is increasingly no longer divided by Left v Right but by establishment v populists. It’s an exciting moment in our politics--and we have the promise of an EU referendum to thank for it. Farage won. Oh, his answers were glib and simplistic; many of his policies are unreal and lacking in substance. But time and time again, he hit Clegg on the

Four people are dead and 16 people injured after a uniformed soldier with suspected PTSD opened fire on Fort Hood military base, where 13 people were killed in a massacre in 2009. [Snip] Milley said the shooter, identified earlier as 34-year-old Ivan Lopez, entered one building and fired shots at individuals then returned to a vehicle before entering a second building to fire more shots. He finally turned his weapon, a .45 caliber Smith & Wesson semi-automatic pistol, on himself after a heroic female military police approached and engaged him, Milley said. ´It was clearly heroic what she did. When the U.S. Supreme Court struck down a law Wednesday morning that limits Americans´ contributions to political candidates, liberals in Washington hyperventilated. Within minutes, far-left Sen. Chuck Schumer of New York fired off a terse press release slapping the five justices, all appointees of Republican presidents, who joined in a majority to open the floodgates to more money in politics. [Snip] ´It could lead to interpretations of the law that would result in the end of any fairness in the political system as we know it.´ Bernie Sanders, a Democratic senator from Vermont who describes himself as a socialist, tweeted

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – President Obama compared the Republican budget plan to a "stinkburger" or "meanwich" during a speech here Wednesday, using a series of zingers in an attempt to strike a contrast with the GOP on economic issues in an election year. In a speech to an enthusiastic crowd of 1,400 at the University of Michigan, Obama repeatedly mocked Republican ideas about how to improve the economy, as he touted his own proposal to raise the minimum wage. Obama, who visited the local Zingerman´s deli before the speech, said that Republican proposals to cut taxes for wealthier Americans and

The North Carolina State Board of Elections has found thousands of instances of voter fraud in the state, thanks to a 28-state crosscheck of voter rolls. Initial findings suggest widespread election fraud. 765 voters with an exact match of first and last name, DOB and last four digits of SSN were registered in N.C. and another state and voted in N.C. and the other state in the 2012 general election. 35,750 voters with the same first and last name and DOB were registered in N.C. and another state and voted in both states in the 2012 general election. 155,692 voters

Sources on the ground in Benghazi during the 2012 terror attack are pushing back hard on former CIA acting director Mike Morell´s testimony on Capitol Hill, where he defended his role in shaping the administration´s narrative and claimed politics were not involved. As part of Morell´s testimony on Wednesday, the former acting and deputy CIA director acknowledged that he overruled the guidance of the top CIA officer in Libya at the time. That official told Morell the attack was not an "escalation of protests," but Morell said he had to weigh that against analysts who concluded the opposite. He ultimately went

Big changes could be just down the road for North Carolina drivers. A proposal is in the works that would change the state tax system to charge drivers by the mile, instead of at the gas pump. The proposal would be to charge a half cent per mile for cars, which would generate almost $500 million in annual state revenue. A driver who travelled 15,000 miles in a year would pay about $75. "Basically you pay per the mile. It´s treating transportation as a utility, much like your water and sewer," said Larry Goode, with the Institute of Transportation Research and

Do you think members of Congress are overpaid or underpaid? Most likely you’d go with the former, but Democratic congressman Jim Moran argues it’s actually the latter. In an interview with CQ Roll Call, Moran says, “I think the American people should know that the members of Congress are underpaid.” The House recently took up a bill to freeze members’ paychecks, placing another halt on the annual cost-of-living pay increases they would normally get and keeping annual salary at $174,000. Moran believes that this is the wrong way to go, not necessarily talking about himself in particular, but saying there

The human kindling that makes up the flammable Republican base may soon burst into flames, again. Portions of that excitable cohort are looking — some with fawn-like eyes filled with hurt, others with sparks shooting from eyes narrowed like gun slits — askance at other Republicans urging Jeb Bush to seek the 2016 presidential nomination. A candidacy by Florida’s former governor would be desirable. But if Republicans want to avoid intra-party carnage, they should be very careful about doing what The Post recently reported: “Many of the Republican Party’s most powerful insiders and financiers have begun a behind-the-scenes campaign to draft

Sarah Palin continues to act in ways that confirm some of the more negative things said about her. For example, she’s taken to Facebook to attack the most recent budget plan by House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan.(Snip)Whatever differences Ms. Palin may have with the Ryan plan–and perhaps she’ll take the time to offer an actual critique of if rather than a Facebook entry with lots of upper case words–it’s hardly a joke. But what might elicit a roll of the eyes is comparing Ms. Palin’s views now versus what they were nearly four years ago. Consider this: On December

At a press conference to push legislation to raise the minimum wage to $10.10 an hour, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) criticized industrialists David and Charles Koch, calling them “shadow billionaires” who use their wealth to “rig our political system.” Reid’s sharp comments come on a day when the Wall Street Journal published a commentary written by Charles Koch, in which he described the brothers’ decision to get involved in politics to preserve the individual freedom and free markets that he said are the pillars of the American republic. “These two men are a pair of shadow billionaires spending
