Dianne Feinstein — more than
a sixth grader, less than
a Senator doing her duty

Power Line, by Paul Mirengoff

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 3/15/2013 10:09:06 AM

As a pensioner, when I’m not blogging, I spend much of my time reading and watching sports on television. But nothing I do these days is more amusing than watching Ted Cruz annoy the legacy Democrats on the Senate Judiciary Committee and cause some of them to betray their foolishness. The latest victims were Dianne Feinstein and Chairman Patrick Leahy. Feinstein has proposed a ban on 157 different models of assault weapons. Many of them are commonly used, which means that, under the Supreme Court’s decision in Heller, banning them is problematic in terms of the Second Amendment.

Comments:
Cruz obviously flustered her and that´s a good thing, but he simply cannot help sounding like a trial lawyer. He´s going to have to refine that attitude.

I like his attitude. Who cares if the dimocrats (including McCain) don´t like it. The less they like it, the more I do.

Thank God, Ted Cruz is doing what we elected him to do. He isn´t backing down and he is speaking truth to power.

The actual exchange was priceless. I thank the PO for posting but I disagree with his comment re Kruz needing to change.
THe dinasaurs in the Senate need to change. Her snit was reminiscent of Baba Boxer getting her thong bunched up because a General called her "Maam".

But she didn´t answer his question did she? Of course not because she is a leftist ideologue who can´t. All she could do was tell Ted how long she had been in the Senate and that is the real problem professional politicians who just want to rule over us. They actually believe they are better than us and it is their duty to tell us how to live.

Senator FineSwine is a very fine fine swine - fine in the sense of belonging to her swine species not in the sense of attractive.

We´ve all heard that swine are very smart animals. But with FineSwine, that is not the case.

Ever see a swine suffering from rectal-cranial inversion? It´s not a pretty picture.

Ted is behaving like a Conservative. Period. Any confusion is due to the fact there is actually an entire generation who has never seen one willing to stand and fight for what he knows to be true.

That said, it was the intellectual equivalent of watching a tank play chicken with a tricycle. They truly keep these idiots around as sacrificial lambs. Poor guy will be dealing with SJL soon enough.

I wish we had many more with his attitude, along with his knowledge, understanding and wisdom regarding our Founding Documents and the American Ideal, and his courage and ability to articulate that knowledge in a way that gives understanding to the less knowledgeable.

He is exactly the kind of person we need to confront the attitudes of those who are determined to make changes that are destructive to our freedoms while strengthening their power.

God bless him. I´m thankful for him. His attitude, and that of a, thankfully, growing number of others who have arrived on capitol hill, is calling attention to the truth and dangers of what is going on in our government.

I´m not a big fan of all these attorneys in Congress but unlike so many. Sen. Cruz has been an actual lawyer arguing cases upto and before the US Supremes; not just some company or agency counsel parsing over policy statements. He has had to think on his feet and quickly.

Feinstein (who has helped make herself and her husband very wealthy while in office), McCain, etc - dinosaurs whose time has come and gone. Retire already!

Banning some firearms will only inconvenience law abiding people since criminals and insane people setting out on their individual suicide by cop missions do not obey gun control laws.

What the liberal Democrats really want to do, and if you read the Feinstein´s bill it becomes clear, is ban just about all modern semi-automatic firearms produced and sold in the USA today, that could "possibly" accept a clip or magazine that could "possibly" contain over 10 rounds of ammunition. If that happened, the liberal Democrats would essentially be putting most of the conservative oriented US small arms and relating industries out of business because they could not survive on bidding for a diminishing number of military contracts. They would mean that many thousands of well paid American jobs, and the technical know how connected to them, would also be gone.

This is only an interim gun control step for the liberal Democrats, who know they must wait until they can flip the US Supreme Court by Obama nominating a couple of more extreme liberal justices. Following that, by way of court decisions, they will change the laws that provide that individual Americans have the right to bear arms, and will come back with a comprehensive firearms confiscation bill in the future.

Feinstein is the white, female Jesse jackson.

Jesse rode to fame on the strength of the blood he wiped on his shirt at MLK´s asssasination in 1968.

And he has been riding that pony for 45 years.

Feinstein rode to fame on the strength of getting Harvey Milk´s blood on her hands at his asssasination in 1978.

And she has been milking that cow for 35 years.
Especially whenever she is backed into a corner in a debate.

Mrs. Feinstein did not answer the question posed to her, I believe a sixth grader would have been able to answer it. She doesn´t feel she has to answer anything especially to someone younger than her which means to her less smart...she and her group of anti constitution specialists think that the solution to crime is to control the law abiding citizens because her bunch can´t control the NON abiding citizens. Take the weapons away from the honest, law complying Americans to have something to show everybody because the crooks, thieves, killers, rapists, robbers, highjackers, etc. for some reason will not listen to her and her bunch. So they go to the ones that follow the law. Pretty crazy huh???

Yo! Diane!

Senator Cruz was responsible for the Amicus Brief for 31 States in the Heller Case which established the 2nd Amendment as an Individual Right. In the Appeals World it is the briefs and not the Oral arguments that prevail. He doesn´t need to establish his bona fides on the Constitution and the Second Amendment, you have to establish yours. Your law is a Fail in that regard.

Also, you´re alone in a NY State House. You hear someone breaking in. Laying on the table is a Sig-Sauer .380 Semi-automatic with 7 rounds. Also laying there is an M-4 Colt Carbine with 20 rounds. Which one would you pick up for self defense? Why? If you get this right, you can move on to the seventh grade.

Furthermore, DiFi is misleading. When Danny White shot Moscone and Milk in 1978, he used a police revolver. He did not use a "military style" weapon.

DiFi has "Milked" this situation long enough. If Cruz were less of a gentleman, he would have pointed out that 20-years is too long for anyone to serve in the Senate.

As to "leaky" Leahy: the name says it all.

Dianne Feinstein could be the poster girl for a State´s rights movement to force term limits on their US Congress critters and Senators.
The State citizens elect them and should have the right to limit their unconstitutional lifetime careers instead of expecting the federal body to do so.

The quasi-official ideology of the U.S. armed forces holds that generals are virtually interchangeable, that individual personalities don’t matter much, that ordinary grunts are in any case more important than their leaders, and that what really counts are larger systems that make a complex bureaucracy function. There is some truth to all of this. But for all of the bureaucratic heft of the services and the heroism of ordinary soldiers, it is hard to imagine the Civil War having been won without Grant, Sherman, and Sheridan—or World War II without Marshall, Eisenhower, Patton, Bradley, Arnold, LeMay, Nimitz, Halsey,

The Supreme Court could soon end one of the federal government´s most archaic practices. Since the 1930s, the Agriculture Department has turned California raisin growers into pawns of its Raisin Administrative Committee, which can commandeer up to half of the farmer´s crop and then pay them little or nothing for the product. Marvin Horne, a 67-year-old raisin farmer in Fresno, Calif., was fined almost $700,000 for refusing to surrender control of much of his harvest to the government committee in 2002. There are many who scoff at Andrew Cuomo’s chances in a presidential primary campaign, but I am not among them. His name is an iconic Democratic brand, he’s forceful on the stump and a prodigious fund-raiser. Besides, somebody has to win the nomination. Of course, there are hurdles. Saint Hillary is gearing up to run, and there will be a scrum among contenders, probably including Vice President Joe Biden, competing just to be Clinton’s top rival. Historian James Thomas Flexner referred to George Washington as "the indispensable man." Americans all know he was a general, but have you ever wondered what grade of general? How many stars did Gen. Washington have? In today´s Army, a one-star general is a brigadier; two stars is a major general; three stars is a lieutenant general; four stars is just plain general. During World War II, Congress created the five-star general, the modern rank of general of the Army. There had been an earlier grade that was called general of the Army,

To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson, considered by some to be a potential Republican contender for president, apologized to Johns Hopkins University for the "poorly chosen words" he used in expressing his opposition to gay marriage last month.“I am sorry for any embarrassment this has caused,” Carson said in the letter, reported in New York Magazine.(Snip) "Although I do believe marriage is between a man and a woman, there are much less offensive ways to make that point. I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
