Train Men Not to Rape?
Or Train Women to Shoot to Kill?

Townhall, by Doug Giles

Original Article

Posted By:lcl4, 3/10/2013 4:58:34 PM

Last week on Hannity a “Democratic Strategist” named Zerlina Maxwell told Sean and his audience that guns are not the proper deterrent to dissuade rapists, but rather “teaching men not to rape is the key”. When I heard that chunk of stupidity I blew apple juice out of my nostrils -- and I haven’t had any apple juice in the last eight years. That’s what you call “strategy”, Zerlina? Man, I hope she advises the Dems in the upcoming midterms and in 2016, because she’s denser than a chunk of Turkish walnut.

I saw this piece on Hannity as well and I was stunned by her absolute stupidity and total disdain for women. Talk about a war on women. Ladies, look no further than the liberal women in the Democratic party today. They could not care less about you and your safety.
What the H does Zerlina think most women are saying as they are being raped? I assume the victim is telling ther rapist, "No, don´t this. Don´t rape me. Stop!" Ummm, doesn´t seem to work for them.

I saw this Hannity segment as well. Maxwell came across as an angry woman. Her advice was so absurd as to be incredulous. Sometimes I wonder if they really believe what they are saying, or if they come up with this nonsense just so they can disagree with the other side.

I saw this and have to credit the others on the panel.

None of them fell off their chair laughing or even responded to this inane statement. They recognized how stupid it was and kept making their points.

You have to wonder what she had for parents and was her upbringing in a bubble? She never got gropped in the back seat of a car in her teenage years? Maybe, she´s never said, NO to anyone.

I heard her...teach men not to rape!
And if they do rape, what then? Remedial anti-rape training?

in response to 7, I suspect a pseudonym. Zerlina is a character in Mozart´s opera "Don Giovanni". She is the most youthful and innocent of the singing leads DG is romancing/wooing. His attempted seduction fails when he is interrupted by the appearance of a previous conquest, Donna Elvira, who is hopping mad.

Liberal females must just love to embarrass themselves on a national platform. They have to love it because why on earth would a woman deliberately do this to themself.

It takes great skill and willpower to not fall off your chair when in the presence of such ignorance.

Many rapist start with burglaries, than over time escalate to rape and than murder,so they have no witness. So,actually we would have to start with thieves, maybe chop off a hand or two at first.

As long as we live in a society with no boundaries and immediate gratification, there will be rapes, robberies and murders.

There is no fear of going to jail because they have friends and family inside. It´s also safer to be in jail than on the street.

Never mind the feral youth on the streets.

The only way for women to prevent and protect themselves from being raped is be armed, trained and accurate.

Rape has nothing to do with sex. It has to do with control and power in lieu of weakness.

Really? Train men to not rape, molets, rob, kill, cheat, steal, vandalize, torture, maim, etc. I am curious to see her teacher´s manual.

Okay, I think I see the problem here. She didn´t express it well. A lot of rapes are committed by boyfriends and family members who their victims are likely going to hesitate to kill. Even if they wouldn´t hesitate, these are people they know and they are likely not going to be armed when the situation occurs.

As far as her thinking that they can be trained, I just have to feel sorry for her. That means that she´s been exposed to a lot of regular men she knows who were so badly brought up that they think it is their right to do that - and actually would benefit from remedial "don´t rape" training.

Wow. What can I say?

The headline on the front page of the New York Times said it all: "Women in the Senate Confront the Military on Sex Assaults." In a triumphalist article showcasing the growing numbers of women on the Senate Armed Services Committee, "one of the Senate´s most testosterone-driven panels," the story line presents female Senators attacking male military officials over charges of sexual assaults against women in the armed forces. Us-against-them stories are great for generating excitement in the media and in politics.

If you listen to liberals, you´d think that Rush Limbaugh is the de facto boss of the entire Republican Party. There are millions of Republicans, myself included, who became conservatives because of hearing quotes like these from Rush Limbaugh.

In recent columns, I´ve mentioned a disturbing trend involving the lack of due process in the adjudication of campus rape cases. The fact of the matter is that rape cases are rarely handled properly on university campuses. They are usually either a) taken too seriously or, b) not taken seriously enough. That is unsurprising, given that rape is both the most over reported and under reported crime in America. To say that rape is the most over reported crime in American is to say that there are more false allegations of rape than of other serious crimes like robbery, burglary,

Progressives can’t help themselves. When normal person hear of a tragedy, they feel the natural range of emotions – fear, anger, sympathy, etc. But progressives are not normal humans. When they hear news of a tragedy their first thought is “How can this help the cause?” There’s something oddly perverse about this mental defect that somehow overrides decency in tragedy’s aftermath, but it’s as widespread amongst the political left as freckles are on redheads. Harsh? Perhaps. But sometimes the truth hurts.

He accuses me of applying double standards, promoting hypocrisy, and of being "inconsistent." But I am perfectly consistent in my beliefs. And, truth be known, so is Don. The reason so many people are unfairly labeled as "inconsistent" is because the term "double standard" is applied in such a haphazard fashion. People are actually guilty of applying a double standard when they treat two identical things differently.

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.
