What Do You Think about
Obama Pardoning the Sequester

National Review Online, by Andrew Johnson

Original Article

(Video)In a hilarious but revealing segment titled “Confusing Question of the Day,” late-night host Jimmy Kimmel gave us yet another example of low-information voters and their unwavering partiality. The question to passers-by: What do you think about Obama pardoning the sequester and sending it to Portugal?

Comments:
Yes, of course it´s laugh-out-loud funny, but then we want to cry, don´t we.

I don´t know that I believe that there are people who will just answer a question they couldn´t have any possible inkling of the answer to.

If these people aren´t ringers, then the issue isn´t about how ill informed people are about the sequester. It´s about how ill informed they are about the state of their own knowledge: they don´t know that they know nothing about a particular subject but proceed to pontificate anyway.

It might as well be an answer to a differential equation or a question about the long term effects of global warming. This is the lowest rung of stupidity.

I thought that these people might be "ringers", too. However after remembering the bit about "Obama´s stash" and free cell phones, this just might start a new theory that instead of man evolving into a higher life form from some slimy amoeba we are devolving into Democrats.

Some idiot Leftist told me today that the reason the IRS is late in issuing tax refunds is because of the sequester! As though cuts would be made in the one gummint agency that is growing in leaps and bounds.
I told him that the delay was indeed caused by the sequester, which has limited gummint cash. And Obama just gave a ton of cash to the A-rabs in Egypt. So, he will just have to wait until more tax money comes in to get his refund.

He believed me.

This was the most hysterical thing I have witnessed in a long time. Very much like Leno´s "Man on the Street" or whatever it was called.

What killed me was that despite no one had a clue what the question was about, they answered as if they knew (with exception of the last woman who said she did not know nuttin ´bout no sequester, she jus voted for hin cause hes black) what the sequester is and what it causes.

It would be great if every news and talk show had a segment like this to reveal how incredibly stupid and ignorant the public is regarding very important and serious events.

AUSTIN, Tex. — Luci Baines Johnson leaned forward in her father’s private suite at the L.B.J. Presidential Library, her voice breaking as she recounted the “agony of Vietnam” that engulfed Lyndon Baines Johnson and the pain she feels to this day of witnessing his presidency judged through the prism of a failed war. “Nobody wanted that war less than Lyndon Johnson,” said Ms. Johnson, 66, who is the president’s younger daughter. “No matter how hard he tried, he didn’t seem to be able to get out of that quagmire. SAN ANTONIO — Sen. SOCHI, Russia – T.J. In a heavyweight clash that evoked memories of the 1980 Olympics ‘Miracle on Ice’ when a group of American college players upset the former-Soviet Union’s ‘Big Red Machine’, Oshie delivered the knockout punch scoring on four of his six attempts, including the winner, in an epic shootout to deny Russia its Lake Placid revenge. Starbucks isn´t an Olympic sponsor and is therefore forbidden to have an official presence here. The nearest Starbucks is about 350 miles away by car in a little-known city called Rostov-on-Don. The only branded coffee player is supposed to be McDonald´s Corp. , which has been gaining grounds globally with its McCafé outlets. The American people still need to hear from Lois Lerner. That’s a point that can’t be made often enough. Remember her? She’s the IRS official who gave a statement before Congress declaring herself innocent of any wrongdoing — and then promptly took the Fifth. Recently, Congress unearthed another IRS e-mail on which she was copied, talking about taking “off-plan” a discussion about how to harass the 501(c)4 groups the IRS had targeted. Meanwhile, leaks from officials involved in the investigation claim the FBI has not found anything criminal. That’s an amazing finding, given the statement by the American Center for Law and Justice,

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. — The UAW suffered a devastating defeat at Volkswagen’s plant here as workers rejected union representation by a 712-626 margin. The defeat, which came despite Volkswagen’s neutrality, tarnishes UAW President Bob King’s legacy and could make it next to impossible for the union to extend its reach beyond domestic automakers.
“While we certainly would have liked a victory for workers here, we deeply respect the Volkswagen Global Group Works Council, Volkswagen management and (German union) IG Metall for doing their best to create a free and open atmosphere for workers to exercise their basic human right to form a union,” King said in a statement.

Gaining the ‘freshman 15’ may no longer be the biggest nutritional issue facing some college students. A study recently published by the Journal of Nutrition Education and Behavior surveyed 354 students at Western Oregon University and found that 59 percent felt that they did not have enough access to affordable, healthy foods – a condition known as ‘food insecurity.´ As defined within the study, food insecurity is “the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods, and limited or uncertain ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways.”
