Rep. Jim Clyburn Hammers Justice
Scalia As ‘White And Proud’

Mediaite, by Garrett Quinn

On Friday the Huffington Post interviewed Rep. Jim Clyburn on the latest Supreme Court’s hearing on the Voting Rights Act and he had some harsh words for conservative Justice Antonin Scalia saying that his criticism of the landmark civil rights legislation is rooted in the fact that he is “white and proud.” During last week’s hearings Scalia said that the 1965 legislation created a “racial entitlement” that is very difficult to get out through “the normal political process.” Clyburn compared these remarks to what he experienced growing up in South Carolina, saying that he developed an immunity

Clyburn and most of the old marchers in the Civil Rights establishment who were definitely on the side of the angels in 1955-65 have turned into racists just as virulent as those they opposed back then. So too have editorial pages in many big cities. What a shame. There won´t be true racial equality until black racists have been as ostracized as thoroughly--and held to the same moral standards--as Klansmen of old. If you scratch the surface, there isn´t much difference between them.

Whatever its origin, racism stinks, and I´m sick of it. (Are you listening, Mr. President? I thought not.)

Jim, you are a blooming idiot. Justice Scalia is an Italian Catholic whose family emigrated through Ellis Island. There was a time that Italians were not considered to be "white" or white enough, and Catholics were discriminated against.

Jim, members of your race, Barack Hussein Obama and his cabal, have been given an opportunity to govern, to lead our fair land, and they are trying to destroy America. Affirmative action has failed, and minorities stupidly bite the hands of taxpayers who feed them.

I am half Italian and damned proud to be both "white" and Catholic.

You are an embarassment to our country and to your state. Stop whining and race baiting and do something to reduce the self-inflicted crime, murder, poverty and out of wedlock births among your own people.

This racism needs to be addressed by our side. Why do Republicans stay silent when the left savages Justices Thomas and now Scalia.

#18, not all that uncommon among whites either or any other race for that matter. Stuff like this is why I don´t tell more people about this usually wonderful forum. Sweeping statements reflect badly on all of us. I prefer to leave that kind of thinking to leftists.

Anyway, it´s a shame that many civil rights "heroes" were bought off by the Democrat Party & took kickbacks & influence from their new masters in exchange for selling out their people & making sure they´re kept slaves to the Dems. Clyburn, Jackson & several others sold their souls for personal gain. MLK was no saint, but he had 1000 times more integrity than these guys (who I believe were in on his assassination with the Dems). I know he is rolling over in his grave. Sadly, King´s family (except his neice, Alveda) also sold out his memory for quick money too.

#28 actually there is an average gap of 15 points between whites and blacks. the typical American black still scores below 75 percent of American whites on most standardized tests. On some tests the typical American black scores below more than 85 percent of whites.

Now you might object to that fact but it is true

#32, that seems to have been Hank Johnson, a Democrat from Lithonia, Georgia. I just looked up what he said. ´´This is a[n] island that at its widest level is what ... twelve miles from shore to shore? And at its smallest level ... uh, smallest location ... it´s seven miles between one shore and the other? . . . about seven miles wide at the least widest place...´´ Somehow, I´d guess Justice Scalia would be able to speak the English language better than that. Many Americans are proud of him for his ability to serve our nation so very well, and that has nothing to do with the color of his skin.

Reply 34 - Posted by: 4Justice, 3/3/2013 3:38:51 AM     (No. 9205483)

#33, you forget that most blacks live in inner city urban areas or very poor rural areas controlled by Democrats who have intentionally destroyed their educational system and through leftist policies have broken up their nuclear families. There is no way to honestly evaluate their intelligence (or even potential) using those tests when the odds have been deliberately stacked against them. They are taught NOT to think for themselves and they are not given any critical thinking skills in school. This has been going on for generations.

Remember that new member of Congress sometime ago who was elected from a majority black district? He cared enough for his constituents to try to join the CBC so he could better serve them but the CBC turned him down flat. He was not black. I think he was Asian. Clyburn and his ilk do not care one whit for the average black in this country, only about holding on to their own power base.

I too am proud to be white Mr. Clyburn.

Reply 43 - Posted by: marthaville, 3/3/2013 8:53:05 AM     (No. 9205636)

Clyburn likely knows that representatives like him can only continue to be elected when the district from which they come has been gerrymandered to insure a candidate of a particular race is elected.

With the assistance of the Department of Justice and bigots like Thomas Perez, many congressional districts will continue to send representatives to Congress based solely on their race, not on their qualifications. Clyburn has racial privilege, and no doubt he likes that very much. For Clyburn, running in a district not determined by racial makeup would cause him to risk losing an election. In Clyburn´s eyes, no doubt, that would just not be fair. For he knows he may not be the best qualified, other than he marched with Dr. King.

This clown´s bias should surprise no one.

Except for its monied leaderhip and weak-minded intellectals, the Left is drawn from and appeals to the worst types of people, like this nasty affirmative action ignoramous Clyburn and Maxine Waters, among many more just like them. Why else would America-haters Soros, Ayres and the others have seen the paydirt potential of the well-spoken if essentialy unqualified Obama, and rushed him up the political ladder to the presidency?

For the most part, whites left racism behind in the 50s and 60s, and raised their kids accordingly. But as I posted above, socialists like Obama and his people have made every effort to bring it back. In effect, making the right pay for the sins of earlier generations of Americans while advancing their leftist political views.

#34: Sorry, but Democrat-controlled bad schools didn´t create the acknowledged gap between various population cohorts.

Yet again, I refer one and all to the Lynn and Vanhanen data. A ready connection to it is at La Griffe du Lion´s "The Smart Fraction and the Wealth of Nations." heck the IQ numbers by countries around the world. Kids from those countries weren´t flown to US toilet cities and giving garbage "educational opportunities."

There´s just far, far too much data pointing to correlation. Far too much.

I´m a proud black man who DIDN´T vote for the idiot we have in the White House. That being said Clyburned is nothing more than an old tired typical black racist democrat. He is in the same mold as leftists morons like Waters, Jackson-Lee, and the rest of those dimwits in the CBC. What this low watt dummy doesn´t get is that he insulted one of the greatest minds on the Supreme Court today. This is what we get folks when the freeloading lo-fos reelect racist meatheads to stink up Congress with their stench. When I tell my fellow blacks this I´m called an Uncle Tom or worse. Most blacks in this country need to wake the heck up and realize that Odumbo, Clyburn, and the CBC do not have our best interests at heart.

WASHINGTON- Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says he wants U.S. military law changed so senior commanders can´t overturn courts-martial verdicts in major crimes such as rape. Hagel said the Pentagon´s top lawyers would prepare legislation for Congress that would strip commanders´ power to toss out convictions, "except for certain minor offenses that would not ordinarily warrant trial by court-martial." Convicted defendants still would be able to appeal their cases. But in a move berated by advocacy groups for military sexual-assault victims, Hagel also said he would recommend commanders retain the power to alter courts-martial sentences,

If presidential politics ever involved time travel, President Obama might be in a little trouble. If an election between Ronald Reagan and Barack Obama were held today, 58% would vote for Reagan over Obama, according to a survey of 1,000 Americans age 18 and older conducted by Kelton Research for the National Geographic Channel. Though when the field is narrowed to people ages 18-34 -- those either too young to have known Reagan as president or too young to remember much -- the gap shrinks to 51% in favor of Reagan.

The consultants were opposition researchers, hired by the campaign to ferret out damaging information about actress Ashley Judd, who at one point considered running against McConnell.

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

The murder trial of abortionist Kermit Gosnell largely is being ignored by the mainstream media, even in the face of grisly testimony, such as what we heard yesterday. Life News reports: ...a former employee described how she heard a baby scream during a live-birth abortion. Abortion clinic employee Sherry West described an incident which "really freaked (her) out" and related to the jury how she heard a child who was born alive following an abortion scream.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Chelsea Clinton has raised her profile in the last few days, which sparked the inevitable question about the former first daughter´s future: Will she ever be like Mom and Dad and run for office? Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. "Right now I´m grateful to live in a city, a state and a country where I strongly support my mayor, my governor, my president and my senators and my representative," said Clinton, whose father, Bill, was president from 1993-2001 and her mother, Hillary

More than 700 Special Operations veterans are urging members of Congress to back a select committee to investigate last year’s Benghazi terrorist attack, according to a letter first obtained by Fox News. The letter from the group, “Special Operations Speaks,” supports the appointment of a special committee tasked with the single mission of investigating the attack that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, and shut down the CIA operation in an annex of the Benghazi consulate, in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack. “Congress must show some leadership and provide answers to the public

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

Amid all of the very real threats of war and stuff from North Korea, you´d think American intelligence officers want as much video footage of the enemy as possible. Well, here is one video featuring North Korean exercises and Kim Jong-Un holding a gun, and we´ll say this: they certainly get points for presentation. Remember the clap-happy report from Dennis Rodman´s diplomatic basketball vacation? This video comes courtesy of the same Youtube channel that gave us that Rodman video. The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
