The Holocaust Just Got More Shocking
New York Times, by Eric Lichtblau

Thirteen years ago, researchers at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum began the grim task of documenting all the ghettos, slave labor sites, concentration camps and killing factories that the Nazis set up throughout Europe. What they have found so far has shocked even scholars steeped in the history of the Holocaust. The researchers have cataloged some 42,500 Nazi ghettos and camps throughout Europe, spanning German-controlled areas from France to Russia and Germany itself, during Hitler’s reign of brutality from 1933 to 1945. The figure is so staggering that even fellow Holocaust

Just pause and think, George Soros, the mentor of the man who leads the so-called Free World, turned people over to these monsters. Incomprehensible, isn´t it.

If the goal is to exploit others and permanently take their money and possessions, and a manufactured and widely-accepted justification is found, it becomes a epic tragedy like the Holocaust.

The Holocaust should be held up as the ultimate shameful end result of unbridled greed, selfishness, and entitlement. And, as this study has shown, benefiting from the tragedy while maintaining an "I didn´t realize what was going on" attitude is baloney.

I wish more people would see that the real lesson of the Holocaust is not that one horrible, evil person did these things but that a whole culture, supporting a popular "leader," put all this together, convinced they were doing the "right" thing, reassured by their media that indeed they were.

We have gotten lazy, thinking our founding documents would protect us from something similar happening here. But the power and the tyranny of the "majority" is just as dangerous as our founders knew it to be.

I am scared most of the time, now. Knowing history is no comfort at all...

Today´s world is nothing like the late 1920s or early 1930s. Just ask any progressive and check out most of the media, they say the same thing, so don´t worry about it.

Goebbels would have been thrilled to have today´s US media and academia. In the early 1930s Hitler had 30 followers, but he also had a corrupt and ineffective government to manipulate. 10 years later he appointed himself supreme leader, for the good of Germany, he said. Enough Germans either believed him or were too terrified to stop him, that the nightmare actually happened.

We had just watched an excellent recently made movie about WWII set in France, ´´Saints and Soldiers: Airborne Creed,´´ (Netflix) and all of its MUST SEE Special Features this afternoon, when I checked Lucianne.com to see what is happening and found this NTY report. Both that movie and this article remined of growing up during the years following WWII as we remember the many personal stories, family stories, news reports, movies & etc., which permeated our lives then, and which resulted in profound thankfulness for the blessings of freedom which had been sacrificially won when tyranny was defeated and tyranny´s captives were liberated.

...´´Lest we forget,´´ we dare not take freedom for granted in 2013.

VATICAN CITY—It took Jorge Mario Bergoglio four minutes to convince fellow cardinals he was their leader. Speaking in the Paul VI grand hall of the Vatican, the Argentine cardinal warned the Catholic Church against focusing too much on matters close to home—advice that came against the backdrop of a papacy that had been consumed by infighting among Vatican officials, a dwindling flock in Europe and secular trends in the West. The 76-year-old Father Jorge, as he is known back home, said Roman Catholicism needed to shift its focus outward, to the world beyond Rome—rather than being "self-referential," he said.
