| WASHINGTON - The European Union´s top climate change official said on Thursday that if the Obama administration rejects the controversial Keystone XL pipeline, it would send a strong message that the United States is serious on combating climate change. "That would be an extremely strong signal for the Obama administration," Connie Hedegaard, the EU Commissioner for Climate Action, told reporters in a briefing in Washington on Thursday. The people getting killed by gas prices are your average working American. I have two employees who each travel 20 miles one way to work. Four dollar gasoline really hurts them and this extends right through the entire economy. Money poured into their gas tanks is money that can´t be spent for a movie or new shoes for the kids.

BOISE, Idaho — Authorities in eastern Idaho are investigating the shooting deaths of two men and a woman whose bodies were found in a home that contained a marijuana grow operation. The deaths took place sometime between Thursday afternoon and evening by someone who had some type of relationship with the victims, the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office said. The bodies were discovered Friday outside Holbrook, a town of about 400 people just north of the Idaho-Utah state line. Authorities said a 2-month-old was found under the arm of one of the victims — 27-year-old Yavette Chivon Carter.

As freshwater glaciers melt, cold water sinks into the ocean, keeping the sea colder than it would otherwise be.
