Liberal Racists
Warn of Chaos

Wall Street Journal, by James Taranto

Original Article

"A Democratic group is under sharp criticism for controversial online messages about Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell´s wife," reports WFPL-FM, an NPR station in Louisville, Ky. For months Progress Kentucky, a liberal super PAC, has been stalking McConnell, the Bluegrass State´s senior senator, holding "demonstrations at his offices and home." But the attack on Mrs. McConnell, who in public goes by her maiden name of Elaine Chao, took place on Twitter. The station quotes a Progress Kentucky tweet dated Feb. 14: "This woman has the ear of (Sen. McConnell)—she´s his wife.

I heard the cretins apologized.

You know, one of those "I´m sorry I was caught" apologies that the left uses.

Rarely, of course.

Three Years Before the Vote,

With the news that America´s largest liberal fundraising group is to back a Hillary Clinton presidential bid in 2016, a growing sense of inevitability is building around her prospective candidacy. The former secretary of state who once occupied the White House as first lady and narrowly lost the Democratic nomination in 2008, has been coy about whether she plans to run again. But she has said that she will decide this year and, with a full 24 months before even the first party primaries, the "draft Clinton" movement is not waiting for its heroine to formally announce. She swamps other potential Democratic contenders

Earlier this week in the New Yorker, President Obama suggested his approval ratings are down because America is full of racists (the same racists who elected him, twice). Now, bonus excerpts from the same article by David Remnick show President Obama blaming his failures on Fox News while accusing the network, conservative media and Rush Limbaugh of turning him into a "caricature." The president also complained that conservative media had created a "caricature" of him divorced from "reality" that made rallying voters from those areas particularly difficult. "The issue has been the inability of my message to penetrate the Republican base so

Mitt Romney came on the Today Show this morning to weigh in on the security threats facing the Winter Olympics but added his two cents about the prospect of a Republican beating the likely Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, should she decide to run. Asked by Savannah Guthrie on Today whether or not Mrs Clinton is beatable, Romney said: ‘I´m sure she is, because people recognize the country is just not doing what it needs to be doing’. He vehemently denied that he would ever run again after his failed 2012 bit, and then gave off a quick list of possible GOP

When New York Governor Andrew Cuomo told a local radio host that "extreme" conservative champions of life have no place in his state, he alienated a lot of residents, including Fox´s Sean Hannity. This past Tuesday, Hannity told Greta Van Susteren, "[A]s soon as I am able ... I´m getting out of here as quick as I can." Cuomo´s planned rhetoric managed to rev up pro-life New Yorkers at the same time they were getting ready to attend their annual March for Life rally in Washington, D.C. Why would a progressive politician from a state known as "the abortion capital of America"

War On Banks: The Obama administration thinks driving payday lenders out of business will help the urban poor. In fact, a Fed study suggests it will only drive them into the jaws of loan sharks. The administration has launched a secret and possibly illegal multi-agency enforcement operation to destroy a legitimate $9 billion industry providing short-term loans to consumers with jobs and weak credit. Under "Operation Choke Point," the Justice Department, FDIC and Consumer Financial Protection Bureau aim to crack down on payday lenders — and the big banks that extend them lines of credit — with a flurry of investigations

In fact, the rest of the world has been incredibly successful over the past 20 or 30 years, and, despite the hysteria raised over this week over a widely misinterpreted report from Oxfam that dramatized wealth inequality in the world, the globe has in some ways gotten more equal (flatter, you could say, if you were a Times columnist). In his State of the Union speech on Tuesday, President Obama is expected to make income inequality the centerpiece of his address. Political analysts say it´s a way for him to connect with a public still anxious about the tepid economic recovery — now in its fifth year — and upset with Obama over the disastrous rollout of ObamaCare. They also see it as a way to rally his liberal base in advance of the 2014 midterm elections. But what Obama is unlikely to say in his lengthy address is that income inequality — as measured by the Census Bureau´s Gini index

The Democrats´ new much-vaunted master plan for annihilating the Tea Party movement calls for aggressive class warfare, demagoguery, and lying about the beliefs, motives, and goals of Tea Party supporters, Sen. Chuck Schumer revealed yesterday. Echoing President Obama´s infamous "bitter clingers" remarks, the New York Democrat argued that Tea Party supporters are cartoonish figures who are easily ridiculed. Invoking all the usual liberal cliches about conservatives, Schumer said the Tea Party is successor to "the Know-Nothings, Prohibitionists, Father Coughlin, and Huey Long." In other words, he believes the movement is a collection of hicks, yahoos, neo-Luddites, fascists, male chauvinists, and racists fearful

If there is anything New York doesn´t need it´s more reasons for Empire State residents to flee. Over the last decade (2001-11) New York´s population fell by 1.6 million. Many disgruntled New Yorkers said enough, packed up and left the state. This was a larger population drain than suffered by any other state. Congratulations. That´s why Democratic Gov. In politics, lying is the new sex. Even the lesser sin, exaggeration, is grounds for questions about your suitability to run for office. Americans may be becoming more like the French in tolerating peccadilloes (just ask Rep. Mark Sanford of South Carolina or Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana about surviving a sex scandal), but get a detail wrong about whether you divorced at 21 or at 19, and woe unto you. That’s what happened to Wendy Davis over the weekend. You may know her as the Texas state senator in pink sneakers who delivered an 11-hour filibuster against abortion restrictions in June.

Attorney General Eric Holder reiterated his 2009 claim that Americans are a “nation of cowards” on racial issues on Thursday. Holder’s effort to profile the entire nation as cowards came during a friendly interview with the University of Virginia’s Miller Center, where was asked if he would take back his 2009 remarks. “I would not take that back,” he replied. As usual, Holder did not brave questions from the audience or from other reporters in the room. Want to know why Wendy Davis will have trouble winning higher office in Texas or anywhere else in America? It’s not because she stretched the truth in her “from mobile-home-living single mom to Harvard Law grad” campaign biography, nor because her husband paid for her education, nor even because she placed a lot of value on her career. Nope: It’s because Davis, the Lone Star State senator who became famous for her filibuster of an abortion-limiting bill in Texas, lost custody of her children to her ex-husband. This revelation about Davis’ past, which came to light thanks to reporting by Wayne Slater
