| Several hundred illegal immigrants have been released from detention centers in Georgia and other states, federal officials confirmed Tuesday. They said the releases were made to cut costs in advance of automatic spending cuts that are scheduled to take effect Friday. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials declined to say precisely how many detainees they have freed or where they are being released. But they confirmed some have been freed from the Stewart Detention Center in Lumpkin, 145 miles south of Atlanta.

Comments: The next step is to release all federal prisoners and blame those rascally Republicans. Too bad The pResident´s paycheck is exempt from the sequester.

They should be released.
And put on buses.
And driven to the Mexico border.
Big savings to be had that way.

What manner of crimes did these people commit? Does it cost more to jail illegal aliens than American citizens? If the crimes they committed were such that releasing them poses no danger to American citizens, then why not release American citizens?

These releases occurred by the diktat of His Imperial Pondscum in defiance of lawful decisions. The Chief Magistrate of The United States has once again violated his oath of office in the service of polical showbusiness.

I´m confused, why are they being referred to as illegal immigrants? I thought they were displaced citizens or temporary visitors or migrant workers or some other nonsensical term. Why are they now being referred to as illegal immigrants? Also, I thought the libs wanted these people released and allowed to live among the rest of us.

Obviously the Weasel in the WH was just looking for an excuse to do this. It is a win-win for him. He will get their votes (and they WILL vote), and he gets to blame the Repubs. AGAIN. The ensuing chaos/crime will be gravy because he will say we need another gov´t program.
Will it work? The LoFoVo´s will believe any fairy tale he chooses to entertain them with.

If one American is robbed, raped or murdered by any of these released illegals then it is 100% on Obama. Impeachment will be the only correct thing to do.

Obama is using this as blackmail. Isn´t blackmail illegal? Or has the GOP agreed with the MSM that being a black socialist makes you immune from any and all legal restraints if you get yourself elected president with their help? Yep, the GOP has indeed agreed to that..

Ohio school shooter TJ Lane spewed vile and unprintable words today at the families of three students he killed, gave them the finger and then laughed and smiled as they described him as an animal and a monster. Lane, 18, got another chuckle when the judge sentenced him to three life terms in prison with no chance for parole. Lane was waiting for a bus to an alternative school when he killed three students during a Feb. 27, 2012 rampage at Chardon High School.

Researchers from Lund University in Sweden have discovered the secret to dung beetle navigation, according to a news release from Cell Press. Researchers found that dung beetles use the Milky Way galaxy to navigate at night. Scientists have known for years that birds and humans navigate by the stars, but this findings is the first believable evidence for a similar ability in insects, according to researchers. This is also the first known evidence of any animal navigating via the Milky Way as opposed to the stars.

State Police arrested a female friend of a crazed upstate firefighter shooter yesterday for allegedly buying him the guns he used to kill two smoke eaters during a Christmas Eve attack. Dawn Nguyen, 24, a former neighbor of William Spengler Jr., allegedly purchased a .223 Bushmaster AR-15 and a 12-gauge shotgun for the wild-eyed manic in 2010, knowing full well that he couldn’t buy the guns himself because he was a convicted felon. Spengler picked out the weapons himself and went to the sporting goods store with Nguyen when she bought him the guns, said US Attorney William Hochul.

"Second Lieutenant Daniel K. Inouye distinguished himself by extraordinary heroism in action on 21 April 1945, in the vicinity of San Terenzo, Italy. While attacking a defended ridge guarding an important road junction, Second Lieutenant Inouye skillfully directed his platoon through a hail of automatic weapon and small arms fire, in a swift enveloping movement that resulted in the capture of an artillery and mortar post and brought his men to within 40 yards of the hostile force. Emplaced in bunkers and rock formations, the enemy halted the advance with crossfire from three machine guns.

Sir Patrick Moore, who has died aged 89, had the air of a crusty, uncompromising bachelor and slightly dotty boffin who could have walked straight out of a Victorian or Edwardian novel. An amateur but distinguished astronomer, star of television programmes including GamesMaster, prolific author, composer and manic xylophone player, he was a true, quite unselfconscious British eccentric – and a populariser of science without equal in an era of great but often abstruse discovery. In his capacity as an astronomer, he helped map the moon and was for more than half a century until his

Zarozje, Serbia —Get your garlic, crosses and stakes ready: a bloodsucking vampire is on the loose. Or so say villagers in the tiny western Serbian hamlet of Zarozje, nestled between lush green mountain slopes and spooky thick forests. They say rumors that a legendary vampire ghost has awakened are spreading fear — and a potential tourist opportunity — through the remote village. A local council warned villagers to put garlic in their pockets and place wooden crosses in their rooms to ward off vampires, although it appeared designed more to attract visitors to the impoverished region bordering

HARTFORD, Conn. -- With time running out on the chance to pass gun control legislation, President Barack Obama on Monday warned Congress not to use delaying tactics against tighter regulations and told families of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims that he´s "determined as ever" to honor their children with tougher laws. Obama´s gun control proposals have run into resistance on Capitol Hill, leaving their fate in doubt. Efforts by Senate Democrats to reach compromise with Republicans over expanding required federal background checks have yet to yield an agreement, and conservatives were promising to try

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

Clinton, 33, essentially said "maybe" in an interview that aired Monday on NBC´s Today show. The letter from the group, “Special Operations Speaks,” supports the appointment of a special committee tasked with the single mission of investigating the attack that left Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans dead, and shut down the CIA operation in an annex of the Benghazi consulate, in the Sept. 11, 2012 attack. “Congress must show some leadership and provide answers to the public

There was growing buzz over the weekend that a bipartisan agreement on gun control — a deal that would expand background checks — could hit the floor as early as this week. However, any deal could be derailed by the looming threat of a Republican filibuster involving Texas Sen. Ted Cruz. With Cruz standing proudly in the way of any gun legislation, Democrats are trying to make him pay a political price — and even a couple of high-profile Republicans are questioning his tactics.

The case of a same-sex Connecticut couple accused of repeatedly raping and abusing two of their nine adopted boys is headed for trial. Married couple George Harasz and Douglas Wirth of Glastonbury were supposed to be sentenced Friday in Hartford Superior Court under a plea deal, but instead withdrew from their agreement with prosecutors. The men had already pleaded no contest in January to one felony count each of risk of injury to a minor — a reduction from even more serious charges related to sexual assault....
