Joe Biden with a shotgun? What

Letterman: They’re saying the Chinese have hacked Burger King’s Twitter account. C’mon, if you’re following Burger King on Twitter, it’s time to seriously examine your life, honest to God. Fallon: Bill Gates says he’s still dis-satisfied with Microsoft’s innovation. He would’ve said more, but he had to get off the phone so his assistant could use the Internet. [Snip] Fallon: A new report says Chinese hackers could one day take out America’s power supply. Or as that´s also known, "Pulling a Beyoncé."

GOP: Every week another
Obama promise broken

Hi, I’m Ann Wagner. It’s truly an honor to represent the heartland of our country in St. Louis, Missouri, as a member of the United States Congress. Growing up working in my parents’ carpet store, my daddy used to tell me that your word is your bond. That when your bond is broken; your trust is broken. (Scroll down for video of these full remarks.) Unfortunately, President Obama has broken that bond with the American people, and they no longer can trust his word. It seems like every week there is another broken promise from this administration about ObamaCare. As a candidate for president, then-Senator Barack Obama promised to sign

Hi everybody. In my State of the Union Address, I said that the best measure of opportunity is access to a good job. And after the worst recession of our lifetimes, our businesses have created eight and a half million new jobs in the last four years. But we need to do more to make America a magnet for good jobs for the future. And in this year of action, where Congress won’t do that, I will do whatever I can to expand opportunity for more Americans. This week, I took two actions to attract new jobs to America — jobs in American manufacturing, and jobs rebuilding America’s infrastructure.

Contrary to popular conception about porky Americans, there is some good news today for the country´s toddlers (and their parents) as they begin the journey as the next generation of teens, then adults: A new federal study finds a significant drop in obesity in children between the ages of two and five. A 43% decrease, to be exact. [Snip] The obesity decline among U.S. pre-schoolers is the first optimistic sign in such a major nationwide study. And Obama’s White House was quick to hail Mrs. Obama.

Letterman: The bad news is the Sochi Olympics are over. The good news is the Sochi hotels are ready. Letterman: Russia ended the Sochi Olympics with 33 medals. But only six were stolen by Putin. Conan: President Obama has asked HBO for free copies of the upcoming season of ‘Game of Thrones.’ You know how bad things are in this country when even the White House can´t afford HBO. Fallon: Sports shocker last week. Host Russia’s hockey team was eliminated from the Olympics. On the bright side, it looks like Siberia's about to get some really good players. Conan: Russia's favored Olympic men's hockey team was eliminated by Finland. Then an hour later, Russia's men's hockey team was eliminated by Putin.

Afghan combat puzzle: Why have

You may have seen news reports about Americans tiring of the war in Afghanistan, now our nation´s longest ever. Not surprising. What is surprising -- and hasn´t been widely noted -- is that it´s taken so long for a U.S. population famously addicted to instant gratification to tire of a deadly war that has so far claimed the lives of 2,313 countrymen and women. In previous wars since 1950 it´s been a mere matter of months before Americans were doubting the reasons for combat.

Hi, I’m Tom Cotton. I’m proud to represent the people of Arkansas in Congress. [Snip] Arkansans, like most Americans, have had their grit tested over the last several years through a financial collapse, recession, and a stagnant, jobless recovery. Barack Obama’s policies aren’t solving these problems — they’re causing the problem. President Obama’s policies spend too much money — they’ve irresponsibly added trillions of dollars to our national debt. The debt slows economic growth today and it places an immoral burden on our kids and grandkids.

Hi, everybody. Restoring the idea of opportunity for all requires a year of action from all of us. Wherever I can act on my own, I will — and whenever I can ask more Americans to help, I’ll do that too. In my State of the Union Address I asked more business leaders to take action to raise their employees’ wages. Because even though our economy is growing, and our businesses have created about eight and a half million new jobs over the past four years, average wages have barely budged. Oh, geez. Here we go again. President Obama Wednesday stepped into the explosive political eruptions in Ukraine to gratuitously warn the embattled repressive government "there will be consequences if someone steps over the line." Seriously? After 1,856 days in office, this naive yokel, who promised he´d charm the world into loving America again, still cannot resist the temptation to utter empty threats to foreign leaders, threats that they know very well he has absolutely no intention of fulfilling, threats that diminish any surviving U.S. clout abroad.

Some people think Monday´s national holiday had something to do with commemorating the birthdays of two of the country´s greatest presidents, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Silly people. Monday was actually the fifth birthday of the stimulus spending bill signed by one of the country´s least great presidents, Barack Hussein Obama. That was back in 2009 when a billion dollars seemed like a lot of money. [Snip] The spending measure, Obama promised, was destined to create millions of new jobs and end one of the most frightening economic recessions in modern history.

Good morning. Few promises are more sacred than the ones we make to older Americans. Protecting the dignity and the security our seniors have earned is a commitment that spans generations and party lines. For example, during President Obama´s health care speech to Congress in the fall of 2009, he spoke directly to older Americans. “These steps,” he said, “will ensure that you — America’s seniors — get the benefits you´ve been promised.” Then, during a telephone town hall with seniors from around the country, he said he wanted to respond to what he called “hysterical claims” about his plan. “Here’s the truth..." he said,

And this week, I took action to lift more workers’ wages by requiring federal contractors to pay their employees a fair wage of at least $10.10 an hour. These are workers who serve our troops’ meals, wash their dishes and care for our veterans — Americans who work hard and will get a raise as these contracts come up. This will be good for contractors, for taxpayers and for America’s bottom line. We know why this is important. Our economy has been growing for four years. Our businesses have created

As John noted below, President Obama spent an hour and a half on the telephone with Vladimir Putin discussing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. What was the conversation like? We can probably get a good sense of it by considering the account of President Bush’s conversations with Putin set forth by Peter Baker in his excellent book about the Bush presidency, Days of Fire. It’s well known that Bush and Putin got on well at first. But when the relationship soured, Bush became exasperated by his talks with the Russian bully. Putin seemed to delight in debating Bush. President Barack Obama fired a few verbs across the front armor of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s tanks, in a rushed statement just after 5 p.m. on Friday. The statement was made as Russian forces — including attack helicopters — appeared in peripheral parts of the Ukraine that are largely populated by ethnic Russians. There’s no evidence that Obama wants to get involved in what may become a war between the Ukraine and Russia. He did not threaten any significant retaliation if Russian force attack nor did he offer military aid to the Ukraine. He announced that Vice President Joe Biden — but not

KIEV/BALACLAVA, Ukraine - Ukraine mobilized on Sunday for war and called up its reserves, after Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to invade in the biggest confrontation between Moscow and the West since the Cold War. Ukraine´s security council ordered the general staff to immediately put all armed forces on highest alert, the council´s secretary Andriy Parubiy announced. The Defense Ministry was ordered to conduct the call-up, potentially of all men up to 40 in a country that still has universal male conscription.

President Obama´s proclaimed strategy to "bypass Congress" — most conspicuously his broad rewriting of the Affordable Care Act — has given unusual prominence to a fairly arcane legal doctrine: standing. Standing is what is preventing a potential blizzard of litigation against the president´s unilateral decrees, and ironically, it´s a doctrine liberal jurists have long decried. To challenge the government in federal court, it isn´t enough to simply believe that the government´s conduct is illegal or even unconstitutional. Federal courts can hear only specific disputes about the law as applied to particular people. To be heard in court, a person must have

FOR FIVE YEARS, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality. It was a world in which “the tide of war is receding” and the United States could, without much risk, radically reduce the size of its armed forces. Other leaders, in this vision, would behave rationally and in the interest of their people and the world. Invasions, brute force, great-power games and shifting alliances — these were things of the past. Secretary of State John F. Kerry displayed this mindset on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday when he

President Obama spoke for 90 minutes with Russian President Vladimir Putin as the United States, its top European partners and the U.N. Security Council spent the day trying to fashion a response to the rapid escalation of the Ukraine crisis after Russian troops took up positions throughout the autonomous republic of Crimea. Obama expressed “deep concern,” the White House said, and called on Russia to withdraw its forces back to its bases in Crimea and “to refrain from any interference elsewhere in Ukraine.” Putin appeared to have given little ground, according to a readout of the conversation from his office.
