| Gov. Chris Christie got the seat of honor at tonight’s annual governor’s dinner, sitting next to first lady Michelle Obama. [Snip] The event allowed the governors to loosen up and take a break from their deliberations about issues facing their respective states and was held in the State Room of the White House. For the night’s festivities, Mrs Obama wore a custom-made Naeem Khan beaded gown with her hair swept up in an elegant updo with her new fringe worn elegantly over her eyes.

Comments: It´s worth reading the tease just to see the Mail´s catty description of the fringe/bangs clipped to the Mooch´s head!

I wonder if this writer would like to pay what it costs to make MO look halfway presentable. There´s no doubt it´s well in the millions right now and there´s whole crew of people studying her face everyday looking for ways to improve it.
Like Fred Sanford used to say "you can get rid of fat but you can´t get rid of ugly."

And you watch...Christie will be the one in 2016 whose ´turn´ it is to run for Prez´den regardless of who else is running.
Gov. Christie opted for a traditional tuxedo with white tie. If one is going to critique wardrobes, one should have some grasp of what ´white´ actually looks like, and that ain´t it.

#3, the replacement senator is certainly part of the calculations here. The commies don´t miss a trick. Seems to me that Christie was owned well before Hurricane Sandy. I don´t know if the O gang played on his resentment at being passed over for superfit Paul Ryan or what, but they have owned Christie for a long while. His very strange convention keynote address was the first clue to me.

This picture of Christie next to Michelle is going to haunt him in his run for President as well as the picture of Obama with his arm around him after the Hurricane hit. Remember what those kinds of photos did to Charlie Crist! He was toast because the pictures were shown over and over on TV to remind Voters of his cozy relationship with Obama.

Don´t know what to think of Christie. It was tough to see him cheek-to-cheek with Obama after Sandy, as if they were joined at the hip fighting all those meanies (Republicans) who didn´t care about aiding the victims.
If you look up the word ´petulant´ in the dictionary, I expect you will see Christie´s photo. Seems a little immature for a man who has made so many "right" decisions during his tenure as Governor. Still trying to figure him out.

Unfortunately (for him), Governor Christie does not realize that he is being marginalized by the Obamas. By lavishing him with attention they are making him a pariah to his own party, and forcing him (if he wants to continue in politics--and face it--where else could he be a player) to "go Dim." There. Another potential enemy taken out with a seating card and a glass of wine!

Two teachers are today unmasked as key architects of the vile Thatcher ‘death parties’. One is employed at Labour leader Ed Miliband’s old school and has worked with the youngest and most impressionable pupils there, while the other teaches troubled and vulnerable children.[Snip] Craig Parr, a teacher at Haverstock School in north London--nicknamed ‘Labour’s Eton’--was pictured parading with a sick placard which read: ‘Rejoice. Thatcher is dead.’ The 27-year-old special needs teacher and union activist led chants of ‘Maggie, Maggie, Maggie, dead, dead, dead’ at a death party he organised in Brixton, south London, on Monday night which ended in

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. The most successful politicians write their own obituaries. I have read a number of Baroness Thatcher´s today and wondered whether the writers would be surprised if they were told she would probably agree with most of what was written, even in the Left-of-centre outlets. This is because successful politicians so dominate the debate on the issues they care about--which were many, in Thatcher´s case--that they determine the course of the argument including the response from opponents. They do this by defining themselves in the public imagination by what they are against rather than what they are for, and leaving only

North Korea´s army was deeply split over whether to accept the command of Kim Jong-un, a former officer has revealed, giving a possible clue to the tensions lying behind the young leader´s calls to war. Hundreds took to the streets as macabre ‘Thatcher death parties’ were held late into the night across the country, organised by critics of the ´Iron Lady.´ Smashed shop windows, paint bombs and police being attacked were all consequences of the Left´s sick ´celebration´ of Baroness Thatcher´s death. In Brixton, south London, riot police were deployed as the crowds, which had been drinking since 5pm, started to become more aggressive smashing shop fronts and throwing paint bomb. In Liverpool, flares and fireworks were set off outside Lime Street Station by revellers, while in Bristol, seven police officers were injured--one seriously--as violence

Cometh the hour cometh the man. (Or woman). Except it´s not always true, is it? In 1940 we had Winston Churchill. In 1979 we had Margaret Thatcher. But I´m not sure even the most generous apologists for our current Prime Minister would bracket David Cameron in quite the same category. To the politician it matters greatly, for the primary aim of the politician is to gain and maintain power at regardless of what cost to his principles. In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
