FLOTUS Interruptus: Obamas Hijack
the Oscars

Breitbart´s Big Hollywood, by Christian Toto

Original Article

Posted By:ketchuplover, 2/25/2013 1:51:59 AM

Conservative movie lovers didn´t suffer any serious Red State taunts during the just-wrapped Academy Awards telecast. Michael Moore wasn´t on hand to bash the GOP, and show host Seth MacFarlane trained his immature wit on George Clooney, breast-baring actresses and the show´s ridiculous length. And then it came time to announce the Best Picture winner, and Jack Nicholson stepped on stage to do the honors. Only Nicholson, and the show´s organizers, had something else in mind. Enter Michelle Obama. (snip) It was an unprecedented cultural power grab by the Obamas, almost daring conservative viewers to adore her as much as progressives

Comments:
The arrogance and in-your-face attitude of this W.H. makes me more and more impatient for the "fall" that cometh (after the pride).

We are still at war.
For this woman to use the members of the military as Oscar props is revolting and disgraceful.
Ann Romney would have had the dignity and class not to cheapen the presidency by appearing at the Oscars.
And never in a million years would she make uniformed military members act as her posse.

Even my wife, who is a liberal Democrat, wondered what was the point of Michelle´s little speech.

This not only points up how tone deaf the Obamas are, but how tone deaf Hollywood moguls like Harvey Weinstein are. Even non-committed voters are sick of it after being bombarded with political ads last year.

Overall, the telecast wasn´t the best or the worst of recent years...Evita Obama´s appearance was definitely a sour note.

As much as I detest MO & BO, I´ll have to allow that at least someone had some sense to just do a live video feed for MO instead of having her do the ten hour round trip for a five minute appearance. On the other hand, perhaps there was simply too much infighting over which post-Oscar party would be graced with MO´s attendance.

We haven´t watched in years, but I did read her oh, so inspiring remarks s/o -
"These lessons apply to all of us no matter who we are, or what we look like, or where we come from, or who we love, but they are especially important for our young people."

Notice the "who we love" and the rest of it is taken word-for-word from a recent zippy speech; a shout out to their gay/lesb/cross-dressing friends/selves.

It seems that indoctrinating people is top on their list. It´s disgusting.

My family take an entirely different approach to watching this spectacle. We laugh at the hideous outfits these designers spend to promote their costumes on actresses and actors that have no business wearing (e.g boobs in the wrong place, bulges grossing out, panty lines extraordinaire, or no panties with saggy but.) We died laughing at the chic that fell - idiot, why did she not have an escort wearing a train t the length of the Titanic, Nicholson was so bombed he forgot where he was and could have been impersonating Ted Kennedy at a DNC post-convention party, and the plastic surgeries that should have MDs imprisoned, etc.

The show is worth watching for its excessive lameness. Idiots on parade who make utter fools of themselves on live TV. And the headline is hysterical.

No need to watch Oscars when you follow Iowahawk´s tweets:

My biggest complaint about it is they would NEVER allow a conservative to do the same. We get to be insulted - not applauded and honored. I happen to love movies and always watch the Oscars. This was a major turnoff to me.

I don´t go to the movies nor do I watch the Oscars. There was a Duck Dynasty marathon on and I watched episodes I had seen at least three times already. It was great. So I was just wondering: How much did that dress cost us? And why didn´t they show us what her big butt looks like in it?

Does anyone remember "Zelig" by Woody Allen? (I know, but bear with me) It was about a guy who becomes a celebrity by inserting himself in all sorts of situations and meets famous people. The Obamas have become this kind of celebrity: we (the left we) project whatever we want onto them. "Being There" with Peter Sellers is similar. Notice I only reference "old" movies. There´s a reason for that. The new ones don´t bear watching.

That being said, I went to see an Alan Jackson concert last night. He even mentioned prayers and the Pledge of Allegiance! Now THAT´s entertainment!

I have come to abhor lefties, progressives, liberals, DemocRATS, whatever name they disguise themselves with...They are so childish, immature, ignorant, and compulsive liars who obsess on such small-minded, close-minded topics. Hollywood, the ass-press, the network news liars, the daily drumbeat of talk show fascists from sun-up until well past midnight, the local news liars, the newspapers who lie constantly like in New York, Washington, Chicago, SanFrancisco, Sacramento, Philadelphia, Boston, etc. etc......and now the stupid internet sites that spew garbage every day, lies foisted by the likes of Yahoo, Comcast, Google, et al....not to mention the HuffPo and other political website liars. And dont get me started on Barry Soetoro and the Mooch and their gang of corrupt, fraudulent, paid liars! Enough of them all! Eyuk.

At first, I thought it was a tribute to "Star Wars" when the camera opened on Chewbacca, but then I realized it was only the Grifter-in-Chief trying to be relevant and get people to look at her. Seriously, this is now just like bread & circuses from ancient Rome. Keep the populace occupied by looking over there where games are going on --- instead of looking at the country´s miserable finances.

Imagine if Laura Bush had stooped to being the presenter of the CMA award for best song and did it by satellite from the White House. The screams of pandering, defiling the dignity of the office of POTUS, cheapening the people´s White House, etc. would be unending. (I might like that thought enough to entertain it but it really is not proper!)Yes, we know, the White House isn´t "sacred" ground but it shouldn´t be sold cheap either --- and used to cash in on a commercial enterprise.

Our country´s lofo voters and sycophant media are salivating at the prospect of bowing before them in adoration. The debate is raging over whether the latest immigration bill is an amnesty for illegal immigrants, but one part is clear: The legislation would forgive businesses that have employed those immigrants illegally. Employers who have allowed illegal immigrants to work off the books can come forward safely and provide their work history without fear of prosecution, and businesses that knowingly employed someone using a bogus or stolen Social Security number likewise would get a pass, according to an analysis of the bill by the Center for Immigration Studies, a think tank that wants a crackdown on immigration.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.

There was a running joke in the fall of 2008 that John McCain should simply re-air Hillary Clinton’s “3 a.m. phone call” ad, which highlighted Barack Obama’s lack of experience and meager knowledge of world affairs, and just tack on “I’m John McCain, and I approve this message” at the end of the ad. The point was that thanks to the bitter primary battle between the Clintons and Obama, Democrats had already developed the most effective lines of attack against Obama, and Republicans needed only to nod their heads in agreement. Something similar is taking place

Michelle Obama on Friday urged black youth to stay in school instead of dropping out to become a "baller or a rapper." The first lady, speaking to graduates at Bowie State University, a historically black college, criticized the worship of sports stars and celebrities. "Today, instead of walking miles every day to school, they’re sitting on couches for hours playing video games, watching TV," she said of black youth. "Instead of dreaming of being a teacher or a lawyer or a business leader, they’re fantasizing about being a baller or a rapper."
