FLOTUS Interruptus: Obamas Hijack
the Oscars

Breitbart´s Big Hollywood, by Christian Toto

Original Article

Posted By:ketchuplover, 2/25/2013 1:51:59 AM

Conservative movie lovers didn´t suffer any serious Red State taunts during the just-wrapped Academy Awards telecast. Michael Moore wasn´t on hand to bash the GOP, and show host Seth MacFarlane trained his immature wit on George Clooney, breast-baring actresses and the show´s ridiculous length. And then it came time to announce the Best Picture winner, and Jack Nicholson stepped on stage to do the honors. Only Nicholson, and the show´s organizers, had something else in mind. Enter Michelle Obama. (snip) It was an unprecedented cultural power grab by the Obamas, almost daring conservative viewers to adore her as much as progressives

Comments:
The arrogance and in-your-face attitude of this W.H. makes me more and more impatient for the "fall" that cometh (after the pride).

ahhh....don´t worry, most conservatives stopped watching the Oscars years ago. That´s because most conservatives stopped going to the movies years ago, because Hollywood stopped making descent movies. So we don´t care who wins Oscars. So Mooshell was only playing to the choir.

The worst part of these people elbowing their way into the celebrity cult is it actually works better for Obama´s job approval than his policies which are killing this country, overall.

the left would normally cry "can we leave politics out of this" don´t seem to mind when one of these creatures make an unexpected visit.

Is there anything this creepy couple can stay out of? I do not want to see them at the Super Bowl. I threw up a little in my mouth tonight when the First Wookie announced Best Picture.

Reply 4 - Posted by: Th-Gr-Sil-Majority, 2/25/2013 2:24:46 AM     (No. 9194389)

...you could tell in the first 4 minutes that the show was a turkey waiting to be forked. I enjoyed every opportunity to see Speilberg miss out. I´ll lay odds that getting the first lady up there was with the hope that "Lincoln" would be the big winner...

...now she can be a footnote in forgotten memories...

Is there no limit to the ego of these grifters? I guess we´re only a few steps from having a ´dear leader´ that hits 32 under par in his first golf game , writes plays and symphonies and cures diseases during lunch breaks. These phonies insert themselves in everything. Please God, put them out of OUR misery!

I haven´t watched the oscars in decades. I see, once again, I didn´t miss anything.

I think above poster is right: the White House hoped that the Lincoln movie would win and they could associate Obama with Lincoln. But Hollywood types are even more narcissistic than the one in the White House, so Hollywood won the Oscar, not The White House.

I am sure that Hollywood and the white house both felt tat the time had come when an extremely popular and beloved first lady should be involved with the Oscars. s/o

On top of it the military aides had to come in on a night off to be used as background props. The Obama s , like the Clintons have no shame when it comes to using our military as butlers and servants.

Once we thought Bill Clinton was the worst possible of malignant narcissistic users of people.

I confess I like to see the dresses. Turned the tv off the second I saw the mooch. No clue what film won, though it´s highly likely it was a movie I had not seen anyway. Just go away Michelle. I´m sick to death of you and your breathless media sycophants who think the world cares how you cut your hair (wigs?) or what you wear (and who pays for those custom gowns?).

Reply 14 - Posted by: bifgroovey, 2/25/2013 5:51:44 AM     (No. 9194441)

Fitting tribute to describe the Obamas. They are not qualified. They have no experience leading anything. The are simply celebrities.

I love movies - classic movies. I have never seen an Oscar show though, and until the Hollywood Academy can get its act together I never will.

Of course she was there, she is inserted to present the most anticipated award.

It´s so "Hollywood".

Just remember, everything in Hollywood if FAKE. They pretend to be someone they are NOT for a living.

Perfect.

The Obama´s are such narcissistic media hogs. The brides at every wedding and the corpses at every funeral is aptly descriptive. They love to "steal the show," while most likely wish they would go away.

They ARE like the Ceausescu´s, living high at the people´s expense. I am utterly and completely sick of them. It´s going to be a long four years.

Reply 20 - Posted by: JimS, 2/25/2013 6:31:59 AM     (No. 9194465)

How fitting. Our Kardashian President and his linebacker wife, with no accomplishments or expeirnce in the motion picture industry, steal the limelight from those who have worked a lifetime in motion pictures.
How fitting that the hypocritical Leftist Hollywood 1%´ers applaud this empty suit poseur. After all, their whole life is as fake as their movies.

Reply 21 - Posted by: Kitty Myers, 2/25/2013 6:46:36 AM     (No. 9194474)

Instead of the Oscars, which we never watch, we got caught up with the first three episodes of The Americans on Fx (which we watched on TWC´s ´on demand.´) It´s about a couple of married Russian spies living as Americans in the US in 1981.

Reply 22 - Posted by: doodah, 2/25/2013 6:54:50 AM     (No. 9194487)

It´s like the "body-snatchers", they are everywhere, there is no place that you can go that they aren´t there. On Rachel Ray to Schooby-doo, she is all over t.v. I am really, really tired of this media imposed "darling" of fashion, taste, hair stylist, Hollywood, gardener of back yard gardens, healthy food advisor, childhood advisor, etc. Please, we need a break!!

She should know. Her husband has been impersonating an American president for over 4 years, and most people still can´t see that he´s just acting.

Reply 25 - Posted by: M2, 2/25/2013 7:07:08 AM     (No. 9194498)

No one saw this coming? I´m surprised. I told my friends and husband that I would bet a ventricle that the Obamas would make a "surprise" appearance at the Oscars.

Not that it mattered, being so predictable and all, because none of us watched the program anyway and couldn´t care less who won anything. We long ago abandoned H´wood for the Indies and foreign films.

Hollywood and the Obamas have taken themselves so far out of the cultural mainstream that they have become utterly predictable and thus boring.

There is no such thing as a surprise appearance in Hollyweird. This was planned from the get go. They had to roll out the Sasquatch to make themselves feel good about all of their lying. Joe McCarthy was right in the 50´s and he is right today. America has been over ran by Communist. Next we will see huge murals of these Criminals go up in major Cities all over the Nation.

It´s quite obvious, our classless, clueless current "First Lady," who bears a striking resemblance to the late James Brown, never had any of Emily Post´s etiquette writings on her Princeton University reading lists.

Obama isn´t really the president, he just plays him on TV.

Next month, zippy will fill out his ncaa brackets on espn and the sports media whores will fawn and gush over him. Last year, zip made a grandstand appearance at a tournament game, and the cbs boot lickers interviewed him at half time so obama could provide anaylysis of the game. So far obama hasn´t violated the Masters tournament. Perhaps this year he can call the winner during the green jacket ceremony, especially if his good friend tiger wins.

I never heard of The Oscars. What genre are they?

How much did that little stunt cost the taxpayers? The plane and the Secret Service plus gown and all the little perks that go along with it. Too bad the press lost their way a long time ago with the dems. Now if this were a Republican President, we wouldn´t hear the end of it. With Libya there, unemployment up again, food prices on the rise then there´s gas. Strange people.

The Obamas and the Oscars - perfectly suited to each other. Both are built on illusions and are the stuff of nightmares.

Any excuse to show off her toned arms and new bangs. How much did that dress cost us?

Why did she need a backdrop of military personnel in dress uniforms? That´s just cruel and unusual punishment to have to stand behind her lie that.

Reply 42 - Posted by: Bad Dog, 2/25/2013 7:49:43 AM     (No. 9194550)

My dear late mother was an unrepetent liberal and loved all these losers from BJ to Gork to J´Effin to of course the ´first black´ (uh, half-black, I always told her). To hear her speak about blacks in America, was as though she thought of them as either all children, or pets. They were to be cared for, always loved unconditionally, no matter what, and if they messed on the floor, we had to ´understand´ what ´they´ had been through. I grew up in Kansas, land of John Brown and the abolitionists, so it´s not like our very own ancestors owned slaves.

But this spectacle of Mitch showing up at the Oscars reminds me of those things my mom used to say about the Obamas - she talked as if they were her own children. Or her pets.

Hollywood now his its own pets. Trot her out there, and watch her do tricks.... yay Michelle! Good girl!!

Having spent the entire weekend on my feet at a horse expo, I was long asleep before the "aren´t we all just too wonderful" event took place.

I lived in Romania under the Ceaucescues for three years so I have to agree with #18 and #19. What I´m hoping for is the 0bamas to have their very own "Ceaucescu balcony moment".

If you aren´t familiar with it, look it up on Youtube. It´s the moment when Nicolae and Elena realized that they had lost their grip on the country. A few hours later they ran for their lives. The rest is history.

Reply 47 - Posted by: Jebediah, 2/25/2013 8:02:10 AM     (No. 9194566)

CAN WE NEVER GET AWAY FROM THE OBAMAS??????? He "won" by 53% to 51%, despite a solid three years of frenzied campaigning and perks to voters, and there is half a "thinking" country that does NOT love the first couple. And they are EVERYWHERE! (I was also not thrilled to see Jane Fonda trotted out, or Barbra Streisand celebrated, not least by herself, but what can you do?) Someone should tell the Oscar folks and the Jimmy Fallon´s and all the rest that a good number of us are NOT entranced to see Michelle turn up everywhere, to give her imprimatur. Judging by that poor Dr. still in a Pakistani prison and the treatment in Benghazi, the Obamas are NOT heroes re: Bin Laden and his demise---it was Bush, and Seal Team 6.

I didn´t watch the show. I don´t care who wore what, how many Republicans were bashed (glad they weren´t, though) or who schmoozed whom last night. I´m not surprised that an Obama made an appearance, because Hollyweird forked over lots of cash for Obama´s campaign, and the celebs want their money´s worth. Feh.

Didn´t watch the Oscars - as usual - but have heard about Mrs. Obama´s appearance. Can´t this country do ´anything´ without her being there? These two (FLOTUS and POTUS) must be at the forefront of every big event or happening, as if - by their presence - they make it ever so much more important. They love to be seen, adored and worshipped. So sickening!

It was just an obvious example of Hollywood showing what they are promoting in all they do.

FTA: "The show´s a disaster," declared Shatner."

Yes, it was. The Oscars event seems to be getting worse and worse. I thought Seth MacFarlane was a mediocre host at best, absolutely no class. His "jokes" were stupid, and his flying nun act was just tasteless. I watched until Shirley Bassey sang, and then only intermittently until the very end, when Best Picture was announced. I´m just glad that neither "Lincoln" nor "Beasts of the Southern Wild", apparently Michelle 0bama´s favorite, did not win.

Adele´s performance of "Skyfall", a "nod to the main James Bond theme" was fantastic. She´s a serious singer, no mere pop star, and she can belt out a song almost as well as Bassey. Indeed, the LA Times headline today reads, "Oscars 2013: Adele, Shirley Bassey save the Oscars".

Reply 62 - Posted by: tnorling, 2/25/2013 9:03:35 AM     (No. 9194670)

She doesn´t know her role, obviously. What her role is not, is to be a media personality. She and he, just really can´t help themselves. And the country doesn´t seem to care.

Reply 63 - Posted by: earlybird, 2/25/2013 9:06:51 AM     (No. 9194678)

It was awful.

We went to an Oscar party. This was one of the best Oscar programs we´ve seen in quite a while. Until up popped Mooch. She is such an intruder. Has to be everywhere. She looked awful with massive bangs hanging down in her eyes (though some believe they should be ten inches longer) and was in one of those sloppy talking points drones that she and the mister do, ending with "no matter who (sic) you love".

It was a sickmaker of massive proportions.

It was MO´s audition for an acting gig. Her high status outweighs any requirement for actual experience. (other than her being married to a fake US citizen.)
So, Hollywood, give her an acting gig and the stimulus moeny will flow......to you and your causes.

I followed the Oscars on AOL and listened/read James Lipton hosting/live blogging. He did not mention her at all. He said that Jack Nicholson was very well behaved and there was absolutely no mention of her appearance at all. So I am kind of surprised to find out she pulled a stunt like this. Shouldn´t be though. She should have been home watching like the rest of us.

Reply 67 - Posted by: earlybird, 2/25/2013 9:09:52 AM     (No. 9194685)

She was not AT the Oscars. She showed up on live camera from the White House.

And Jack Nicholson, who introduced her, looked like a homeless drunk who´d wandered in off the street.

From another article:

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the FLOTUS appearance was the work of Obama supporter and friend Harvey Weinstein and his daughter Lilly, who arranged for Academy representatives and show producers to secretly fly (via Disney´s jet) to D.C. just two weeks ago to make the magic happen.

The overblown self-importance of these two narcissists is sickening. There is absolutely no venue that is spared from the two of them inserting themselves. They are the masters of propaganda. I think their appearances all the time are way more insidious than they want it to appear. They really think they are the rulers of this country. It´s beyond anything I have ever seen before and it can´t end soon enough.

Make sure no fat or "hippy" jokes. They´ll accuse us of comparing her to Sarah Baartman again. Believe it or not, some writer recently accused Michelle´s detractors of just that.

Reply 75 - Posted by: Yo Yo, 2/25/2013 9:40:01 AM     (No. 9194743)

I´ve given up swearing for Lent, but Mrs Yo filled in brilliantly last night. We hadn´t watched the Oscars in years, but decided to turn in to see the 50th anniversary Bond tributes. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences is a private organization. In order to be considered a member (see their web site) a person must have made a serious contribution to the motion picture industry. That´s the only way one can become a member.

During the Oscar ceremony, the big awards have always been presented by motion picture personalities who are members of the academy and who have previously been awarded an Oscar.

This year three films nominated for best picture, Argo, Lincoln, and Zero Dark Thirty were highly political in nature. Argo and Lincoln were highly touted by liberal Democrats, and recently both Jimmy Carter and John Kerry came out to pump up Argo´s chances. The liberal Democrats also attempted to jump on the Lincoln bandwagon even though Lincoln was a Republican and it was the majority of Republicans who in historical terms were against slavery, while the Democrats of that era generally supported slavery. In the case of Zero Dark Thirty, it´s accepted that it´s chances were seriously lowered, and even blackballed, because of the water-boarding issue, that liberals as most academy members are consider to be torture.

The liberals running the academy must have been pretty sure, and may even have known for sure, that either Argo or Lincoln was going to win the Oscar, because you can bet that the Obamas would not have been around to essentially congratulate the film Zero Dark Thirty, with it´s water-boarding connotations, if it had won.

Bottom line Mrs. Obama´s appearance was highly political and sure to turn off half the country. Beyond that, Mrs. Obama in keeping with the academy´s traditions and rules, especially not being a past Oscar winning academy member, was not qualified to present the Oscar for best picture.

While extending the payroll tax cut through the end of last year, members of Congress last fall took what many feel was a long overdue whack at the cost of their retirement plan. They bumped up the rate at which federal employees contribute to their pension plan, saving an estimated $15 billion over the next 11 years.
