Mrs Obama is not a member of the academy and certainly has never been awarded an Oscar, so her appearance was totally political, with the worst part being that she used a number of US military officers attired in their dress uniforms as stage props behind her.

No. 13 is right. I have a SIL who watches this award stuff religiously. She would find an appearance by Michelle "Sooo cool! She really understand the American people!" This just endears the BO´s all the more to voters. I also wouldn´t discount MO, at some point, having her own TV/movie career. Now that Oprah has "retired" MO could step into her wide shoes. I´ve been boycotting Hollywood for years - I can´t stand theaters, their questionable cleanliness & the smell of burnt popcorn. I also don´t like repulsive people (the stars!) cussing at me from the big screen. It is mind-boggling to me that movie-goers actually PAY for this abuse!

What´s so surprising? She´s the darling of the commie entertainment media. We just paid for her vacay and now this. I am afraid this is just the beginning of her media blitz.
