| Detroit — The city´s property tax system is riddled with errors and waste, and is overseen by a pair of double-dipping officials who work just two days a week, a Detroit News investigation has found. Tax bills are frequently sent to the wrong address, and homeowner exemptions that dramatically lower bills are granted without proof of eligibility, a recent audit found. Police are investigating the disappearance of nearly $310,000 in cash that went missing over five years from the Assessment Division. How can you pay taxes on a worthless assessment? You cannot collect many taxd ollars on property that is assessed at $0. The dimocrats succeeded in destroying our industrial base through industrial, public workers and teachers unions, family decay, rampant crime, poor policing and corruption. First the cities, then the states (California), then the nation. It will not stop when the electorate is too stupid to understand public money comes from other people,and sooner or later the other people stop being productive because they are taxed and ridiculed into being idle. There is hope. Detroit is ranked #1 by Forbes in its latest poll. Unfortunately, that´s a misery index. Detroit is the most miserable city to live in. The one nice thing that they said about Detroit is that crime is down, what they didn´t say is that it´s down because the police don´t respond, if they don´t respond then there is no crime.

Does anyone believe only $310,000 went missing? The auditors didn´t do a very good job. Governors need to send auditors to cities where the biggest corruption of stealing taxpayer money is - Chicago, NY, Philadelphia, LA, Seattle, etc.

The Navy’s cancellation of Blue Angels 2013 air shows extends past the federal fiscal year ending in September means the November 1-2 Homecoming Show at Pensacola Naval Air Station has been scrapped too. “It’s not just the fiscal year,” said Navy Lt. Trenton, N.J. — A new report shows New Jersey´s county jails are clogged with people who can´t afford to post their often-nominal bail. The report to be released Monday by the Drug Policy Alliance shows 4 out of 10 county jail inmates have been granted bail but can´t afford to post it.
