EPA inspector general warns
sequestration will diminish
agency transparency

Washington Examiner, by Joel Gehrke

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/22/2013 2:12:31 PM

Environmental Protection Agency inspector general Arthur Elkins predicts that sequestration will make the agency less transparent, a warning that emerges even as Congress investigates top agency officials for avoiding transparency laws with banned email accounts. “What we do is provide a level of transparency to agency operations that otherwise you wouldn’t see but for the IG shop,” Elkins told InsideEPA. “To the extent that our budget is affected on the negative side, it’s going to come out of FTEs [full-time equivalent staff].

Comments:
Oh sure it will! You mean they have transparency now? They´re just laying the groundwork like all these corrupt Marxists do so they don´t have to provide more emails from the criminal Lisa Jackson. Look forward to more of the 0bama comrades saying the same thing. I´m sick of all of them.

Nice try, maggots. But sequestration doesn´t give you a license to skip disclosure laws or allow you to do any old mischief you like.

Nice try, nice try.

Right on cue! Political appointees, cronies and fellow travelers are standing in line, waiting for their turn before the cameras to screech the talking point: the sky will fall, the world will end, unless the Republicans cave in to the radical Left´s soak-the-wealthy tax agenda. That´s really all this is about. It is a political mugging, a hostage situation. Hand over the taxes, or the country and everybody in it gets it.

It is commonplace to call Obama and his pals thugs, gangsters, criminals, etc. - and though there is certainly hyperbole in such rhetoric, it is not entirely unfounded. It is a great misfortune for the country to have individuals of such character and ideological zeal in positions of authority. A citizenry that was fully awake would never have done such a thing to itself.

I guess we can´t blame Obama and his puppets too much for thinking Americans are dumb enough to fall for this hype. After all, they elected Obama twice.

It is surprising that the Republicans have not yet caved in to this crude demagoguery and threats of ruin unless the radical Left gets its way on taxes. I am fairly confident that they will cave; Republicans ALWAYS cave in. But maybe they deserve a consolation prize for taking longer than usual to run up the white flag and surrender.

Lisa Jackson and several other high ranking EPA officials are under investigation for using unapproved email accounts with false names in an effort to hide conversations from scrutiny. To claim that transparency will be dimished is absurd and laughable. The slef annointed decide which laws are important and clearly transparency was not a key concern.

P.S. - let me predict now that Ms. Jackson will be found to have circumvented procedures but violated no laws, or at least did not intend to break any laws. And will get a reprimand at most.

Is it enough? Obama imposes sanctions

Fox News & Associated Press, by Staff    Original Article

WASHINGTON – Faced with calls for a swift and stern reaction to Russia´s threatened annexation of Crimea, President Obama wielded his executive pen Monday morning, slapping seven in Vladimir Putin´s inner circle -- but not the Russian president himself -- with sanctions freezing their U.S. assets. But almost immediately, some criticized Obama´s response as not being enough to change Putin´s course. With Crimea voting Sunday to break off from Ukraine, Russia is poised to potentially annex the disputed peninsula -- and freezing U.S. assets of Putin cronies and barring them from traveling to the U.S. may have limited effect. Thanks to Obamacare, Democrats just lost a special election in a Florida House district that President Obama won in 2012. So what do you think vulnerable Democrats in states and districts Obama lost in 2012 are thinking today? The problem is Democrats can’t run from Obama or Obamacare. Yes, the president is electoral kryptonite in 2014. But Democrats are caught in the Obama trap — unable to either embrace or repudiate their unpopular president and his unpopular health law. This is precisely the position vulnerable Republicans were in during the 2006 midterm elections, when Democrats retook control of Congress thanks to George W. Bush’s sinking poll numbers. Like

By now it’s settled on most people, including Democrats, that the loss of Alex Sink to David Jolly in Florida’s 13th Congressional District was, in the words of the New York Times, “devastating” to Democrats.
