| As the New Orleans-shot "Ender´s Game" prepares for its long-awaited release later this year, the producers of the big-budget sci-fi adaptation would appear to have a potential controversy brewing. At issue are the political opinions of novelist Orson Scott Card, who wrote the book series that inspired the potential film franchise. Specifically, it involves Card´s long-held — and vociferous — opposition to gay marriage. Card has never hidden those views, even becoming a member of the board of directors of the gay-marriage-opposed National Organization for Marriage in 2009, but he´s publicly addressed them more frequently

Y´know, welcome to our world, lefties.
For pretty much all my life, actors, musicians, writers, artists, etc. have espoused views promoting communism, baby killing, stripping mr of my rights, calling me a bigot, etc. If I want to be entertained, see a movie, go to a concert, I have to put that aside and enjoy the movie or song, despite the offensive views of the artist.
So suck it up, gay folk. Learn to live with it like we do.

How is one´s view of the act of marriage a "political" opinion? The last I heard, marriage, as defined, and as the law of the land for eons, was between a man and woman, and was performed mainly in churches, synagogues, mosques, etc.

Hard to peg Card politically. I read his columns here in Greensboro in the Rhinoceros Times. Registered Democrat who voted for McCain in ´08 and supported Gingrich in the last primaries. Had some strong editorials against the current administration in his weekly columns prior to the election. Even though he´s registered D he seems more Libertarian. Specifically wrote in one article that he was not a Republican but could not support the Dems.
He´s a Mormon whose great-great-grandfather was Brigham Young.

I hope that you enjoy ´Ender´s Game´ As a 50+ year SF fan, I´ve seldom seen a good SF film made from a book. They either alter the story beyond recognitoin or lose all the nuance for the sake of action.

Card can be a talented writer, I disagree with him on just about everything and have for a long time. Its not his views on gay marriage that put me off its his paranoia and religious issues that have made me avoid his writings for the last several decades. I don´t give money to nut cases of ANY political persuasion.

Kathleen Sausa, 42, told borough officials in early 2011 that she was pregnant with twins, according to the lawsuit she filed Monday in Superior Court.
