| NPR reports on a new federal cost-cutting move: Every month, the government sends out about 5 million checks to Americans who receive federal benefits. On March 1, the Treasury Department is making those paper checks a thing of the past. Since May 2011, all new Social Security recipients are required to get direct deposit of their benefits. Some 93 percent of all recipients now do. But there are still holdouts, so the Treasury Department started a campaign and a website, Go Direct, in an effort to convince the remaining 7 percent.

For mischief, I would like for someone to challenge the valid ID requirement to receive a Direct Deposit Social Security check in some judge´s court who has ruled that Voter ID is disfranchisement

"Racist" is the Swiss Army Knife of the left. It is easily applied, in dozens of ways, to this change or any other.
Notice this change is only for new SS recipients.
Will it affect some more than others? Yes. It is hard to find a change that does not.
e.g. There will be less cash carried and more debit cards used in the poorest neighborhoods - if you have a bank account you can use a debit card.

There are people who cash their SS check at the liquor store. Makes it easier to buy lottery tickets and firewater. One problem with direct deposit from the government is they can also direct withdraw.

How many of these checks are being sent to fraudulent recipients [non citizens, multiple fillers, or deceased persons] who have no ID in the ´right´ name to open a bank account?

Denver - A popular hunting shotgun could be banned under one of the bills moving through the state Capitol. A pump or semi-automatic shotgun is the gun most hunters in Colorado use. It’s a gun state Sen. Greg Brophy, R-Wray, says could be banned under a bill that’s already passed the House and Gov. John Hickenlooper says he’ll sign. “They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Brophy told CBS4 Political Specialist Shaun Boyd. Brophy says if Democrats succeed in passing a bill limiting large capacity magazines in Colorado, they’ll outlaw the most popular selling firearm for hunting.

The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
