Will Only Suckers Buy
ObamaCare Insurance?

Investor´s Business Daily, by John Merline

Original Article

For years, ObamaCare critics focused on its least popular feature — the mandate that everyone buy insurance — taking their fight all the way to the Supreme Court. But as ObamaCare´s official launch date approaches, even its backers are beginning to admit that the law could actually create powerful incentives for millions of people and thousands of businesses to drop their coverage, despite the mandate. There is growing concern, for example, that the law´s market reforms will cause a huge "rate shock," particularly for those young and healthy.

And wait until those young and healthy, working at low paying jobs, find that their employer would rather pay the fine, than provide health insurance!

Talk about sticker shock!

Yes.
Of course; only a fool would buy it now when the Law DEMANDS you be covered AFTER the diagnosis of an illness.
Being from NJ, we have the highest car insurance in the Country-because it is REQUIRED.
If all the drivers could save the $$ and simply buy insurance AFTER a crash, why wouldn´t they?

Of course I have only a GED, so this is probably too logical for those who possess a BA, MA or PhD.

It is actually worse than this. The unemployment rate for those young and healthy folks that are to pay their ´fair´ share so the sick and uninsurable can ´receive´ their ´fair´ share will only increase the death spiral. Older workers (they have to work since their retirement has been wiped out by Obambi and his ´recovery´) are taking jobs from the young. The young can´t find work, get the experience they need to improve their earning capabilities and have ´affordable´ insurance because the older work force is taking so many jobs or not retiring. Less young workers hat are healthy and more older workers that have health issues one expects from getting old will increase the cost of insurance. Thus, when a kid is lucky enough to actually find a job, insurance is even more expensive and unaffordable to someone with entry level employment wages. At some point and time, this entire incredibly poorly designed Ponzi scheme will collapse.

I work as a longterm temporary employee. I can read the handwriting on the wall. My pay will be reduced by $2000 so the Temp Agency can pay the government.

I get to pay $2000 because my Agency won´t provide coverage. (Plus the personal penalty.)

Obamacare (etc) will bankrupt this country.
It´s not just the young and healthy who will be wiped out. Here is the Obamacare math in our household:
Insurance Premiums (annual):
2008 = $7020
2013 = $16584
add in our combined deductible of $4800 and we´re paying over $21,000 - now our single largest expense.
Can´t imagine how high it will climb by 2014!
And here´s an interesting bit: went to a specialist a few months back. Was given the bill on the way out.
"We don´t accept your insurance, so you need to pay in full now."
Lots of different numbers on the bill.
Explanation: "If we took your insurance, we would be charging your insurance company $1175; paying yourself costs $504."
Hmmmm, Hmmmm, Hmmmm.

Once all this becomes evident to the public next year, Democrats who voted for Obama Care who survive the 2014 election may be a very rare species indeed.

You have to either be very stupid, or a Harvard trained liberal Democrat, to believe that young people in good health are going to flock out to purchase a very expensive health care insurance policy when they can simply wait until they get sick and really need such a policy knowing that the insurance companies can´t legally turn them down.

Health Care: ObamaCare is turning out like the nine-headed Hydra monster of Greek mythology. Every time President Obama tries to lop off one of its failures, two more emerge. Recent news provides a good case in point. On Wednesday, Obama decreed that those who had plans they liked before ObamaCare could keep them for two more years. The move helped solve a huge political problem Obama himself created when he first made it possible for some people to keep plans they liked. Obama had allowed just a one-year extension — where he gets the authority to do any of this is beyond us

Economy: When not making excuses for President Obama´s dismal economic record, liberals try to explain away Texas´ stellar growth. But what choice do they have? The Lone Star State proves limited government works. After Gov. Rick Perry entered the presidential primaries in 2011, the left made a determined effort to dismiss the fact that his state had outperformed the rest of the country. Economist and New York Times columnist Paul Krugman called it the "Texas Unmiracle." Time magazine dismissed Texas´ burgeoning growth as mere luck. Others chimed in along the same lines, insisting that low taxes, limited government spending and a business-friendly

To say that President Obama is not an enthusiastic backer of the two Medicare programs that offer seniors private insurance options would be something of an understatement. Over the years, Obama has repeatedly derided Medicare Advantage — the program that lets seniors enroll in subsidized, private insurance. He once called it "wasteful," and said it amounted to "giveaways that boost insurance company profits but don´t make (seniors) any healthier." Obama has been equally harsh when it comes to Medicare Part D — the drug benefit President Bush signed into law that relies on privately run plans. In his 2006 book,

Less than half the public support a sharp boost in the minimum wage when told that it could cost the economy half a million jobs, according to the latest IBD/TIPP Poll out Thursday. That comes amid reports that some Senate Democrats are backing away from President Obama´s push to boost the minimum wage by 39% over the next two years, to $10.10 an hour, after the Congressional Budget Office found that it would kill 500,000 jobs. Unlike other surveys, the IBD/TIPP Poll asked two questions about the minimum wage. The first simply asked, "Do you support or oppose raising the federal minimum

Health Costs: Released into a news black hole last Friday, an official Obama administration report finds that ObamaCare will push premiums up for two-thirds of small businesses. Cross off another ObamaCare promise. The report came from the actuary for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services — which means it´s from the administration´s official ObamaCare number cruncher. What it found was that 65% of small businesses that offer insurance will likely see their premiums rise thanks to ObamaCare. That translates into higher insurance costs for 11 million workers. The reason? These companies generally employ younger, healthier workers and so had

Energy: What do you call an energy source that consumes vast tracks of open land and fries birds that cross its path? If you´re the president, you call it "safe," "reliable," "green" and worthy of massive taxpayer subsidies. That, at least, is the case with the Ivanpah Solar Electric Generating Station that covers a vast area of desert outside Las Vegas and, thanks to the generous support of the Obama administration, has officially opened. The plant points hundreds of thousands of mirrors at three towers to boil turbine-spinning water. But the heat rays aren´t very friendly to the area´s birds, including falcons,

Economy: Food and energy prices are rising, wages are flat and the top concern among Americans is unemployment. What was that word coined in the ´70s to describe a stagnant economy suffering inflationary pressures? Since the Obama "recovery" started 4-1/2 years ago, inflation appears to have been relatively tame, with core prices climbing just 7% from June 2009 to December 2013. But as CBS News discovered when it looked a little closer, the overall number is deceptive. In fact, it found food prices soaring. The official inflation data confirm this. Overall, food prices are up 9% since June 2009, according to the Bureau

How much does it cost taxpayers to sign up one ObamaCare enrollee? In President Obama´s home state of Hawaii, it´s $56,819. The Obama administration gave Hawaii $205 million in grants over the past three years to set up its state-run exchange. But so far, only 3,614 Hawaiians have filled out applications — just 40% of the state´s enrollment goal. Even if Hawaii were to reach its 9,000 target, it would still cost nearly $23,000 for each enrollee. All this job-lock talk was sparked to defend ObamaCare after the Congressional Budget Office reported the work disincentives it creates will lead to the loss of the equivalent of 2.5 million full-time jobs. After taking nearly $4 billion in federal grants to set up and run their exchanges this year, 14 states and the District of Columbia are supposed to be self-sufficient by next year.
