No, I´m not talking about Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, and Michael (God rest Michael´s tortured soul). I´m talking about the Chicago Jacksons, Jesse Sr. and Jesse Jr. The Jackson 5 in their heyday gave plenty: music, entertainment, and joy to their fans. The Chicago Jacksons are another story. Jesse Sr. (The Right Reverend) and his son (the erstwhile congressman) have done a lot more taking than giving. "Taking" may be too charitable a word. Shaking down and wheedling may be better descriptors for the Chicago Jacksons´ acts.
And from "The Big House" in Joliet is heard the latest rendition of the "Highjackson´s" all-time best seller, "The Chicago Shakedown": ..."Everybody, let´s rock...Everybody in the whole cell block...Was dancin´ to the Jailhouse Rock."!
Once again, I remind you people that the rev never gets audited on his charitable accounts, which he used to buy a big house in california for his young mistress/employee back in the 1990s, and he pays child support for the illegitimsate baby he produced with his mistress, using chartibable funds. (Jackson met with bill clinton post-monica, to counsel clinton on adultery. And jackson took his pregnant mistress to the white house with him.) go figure.
Americans who try to live by the rules and hold on to their morals (unlike the Jacksons) are waiting to see if JJjr and wife are also subject to the rules - will their punishment fit the crime. It is a sign of the times that most people think that JJjr and wife will be shown judicial preferences.
The only thing surprising about JJJ´s misdeeds is that he was actually prosecuted. Obama got a sweet deal from a big donor (Tony Rezko) and the media and everyone else just shrugged. How many other politicians are raiding campaign funds getting financial deals from big donor and getting away with it? Exhibit A is John Edwards.
Nothing new for Jesse. He came to Norfolk, VA years ago and shook down every radio station filing for FCC license renewal, the only way to stay in business. Stations had to pay Jesse big bucks or face EEOC discrimination suits. Most chains, like Saga, Clear Channel, and Entercom just bent over and paid him. Locally-owned stations faced the lawsuit and got hosed over it. And this isn´t rumor or second-hand information. I was with one of the locally-owned stations.
He shook down NASCAR and most of its corporate sponsors.
That´s how the AA community works even on a local level. I used to be a budget officer for a large Federal contractor. We had to budget thousands of dollars for a plethora of local "civil rights" organizations essentially to buy peace from them. The VP I worked with was quite honest about how we were paying them to leave us alone.
In a perverse bit of post-trial agitprop, ABC News somehow recruited the one woman of color on George Zimmerman´s "all white" jury and twisted her words to reflect the presumed editorial position of ABC News. In this clip from an exclusive Robin Roberts interview which has played just about everywhere including CBS News, Roberts says to the juror, "Some people have said, point blank, ´George Zimmerman got away with murder.´ How do you respond to those people who say that?" In the edited video ABC floated about, "Maddy" answers unhesitatingly, "George Zimmerman got away with murder.
It should come as no surprise that some of the very worst rants about George Zimmerman’s acquittal are coming from an Ivy League professor. The competition is stiff, but will be hard-pressed to keep up with Anthea Butler, an associate professor of religious studies at the University of Pennsylvania. The Zimmerman verdict has caused Butler to conclude that God is “a white racist god with a problem” who “is carrying a gun and stalking young black men.” There are conclusions Butler could have reached short of equating her caricature of Zimmerman with God.
Toward the end of his closing statement on Thursday, Florida Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda posted a slide on a screen in a fifth-floor Seminole County courtroom. "Which Owner would be more inclined to yell for help?" read the banner on the top of the slide. The slide was divided in two. On the left was a photo of George Zimmerman´s Kel-Tec PF-9 9mm handgun, and on the right was a can of Arizona Watermelon Fruit Juice Cocktail. Beneath the photo of the gun was the question, "Who followed?"
Perhaps I´m just a creepy-a** cracka´ who doesn´t get it. But it always seems that when it comes to standards, the left gives you two for the price of one. And the idea that white people "can´t" understand black folks -- a similar point to which was made in a recent article about the George Zimmerman trial -- is a good example. But before getting to that particular piece, I have a question: is the issue here that one race simply cannot understand another? Or is this really just restricted to white people?
1.The Sound of Wet Grass: Black Racists´ War on Black Women The Trayvon Martin-George Zimmerman case has come to trial this week and the best thing that´s been said about it is from Thomas Maguire: "I´m proud to say I live in a country where the show trials look more like an SNL [Saturday Night Live] skit." You probably won´t know that if your source of information about the trial is the mainstream media and if your lifestyle doesn´t permit you to sit in front of the TV for hours watching the trial.
It´s a miracle! A fascinating and compelling movie whose plot is driven by the protagonist´s fidelity to the Constitution. (In fact there were more mentions of the Constitution than any other movie I have ever seen.) You have never seen a movie like Copperhead, and you ought to take the opportunity to see it on a big screen if you live in one of the forty-some cities where it is opening today. But even if you don´t, it is available today via all on-demand platforms, which is a great strategy to reach the widely dispersed audience
This is what happens when the President of the United States is dragged into making foreign and defense policy decisions, instead of determining American interests and then making policy to suit. And it is what happens when the president fails to make a clear case for those policies not only to the American public, but also to his own cabinet. It had been understood that senior members of the Obama administration wanted to provide arms to Syrian rebel forces in opposition to the Assad regime.
Michelle Obama has been capitalizing on her status as a descendant of slaves. Her latest junket to Ireland shows she is definitely enjoying the 21st-century benefits of the transatlantic slave trade her radical friends in Chicago refer to as "genocide" by white Americans. According to the First Couple´s pals, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, Louis Farrakhan, Rahm Emanuel, and Dr. Conrad W. Worrill of Northeastern University, white Americans should monetarily compensate black Americans for past slavery.
The latest polls show that President Obama´s approval ratings are in free fall like a hot air balloon with the fire extinguished; his approval rating has declined eight percentage points over the past month. CNN reporter Chris Cuomo described the decline as "dropping like a stone." Lara Brown of U.S. News and World Report, declared, "The Obama presidency becomes more Grant than Lincoln every day." Even his standing as a "leader" has shown a six-percentage-point drop among those who think he is a decisive and strong leader. Worse, CNN reports that half of the public no longer trust the president
I have always believed that regardless of the laws of a nation, the social fabric that binds it is woven of mutual trust between the people and their private and governmental institutions. Once that fabric is weakened, the dangers to an ordered society are extreme. This week, the holes in the U.S. social fabric are manifest, and they are caused by the administration´s ever-expanding lawlessness.. The statements by the high-tech self-exile Snowden set off alarms even among those who are willing to repose their confidence in the general integrity of our intelligence services.
Greg Gutfeld opened the June 6th broadcast of The Five by talking about the IRS scandal and asking "What can we do as Americans right now? This seems like a golden opportunity to go after a bloated bureaucracy, clean it out and create something." The answer is to spark a national protest demanding limited government by doing 3 things: First, unhide our taxes. Even the 47% who don´t pay federal income tax pay taxes. During the 2012 Presidential campaign, Mitt Romney said "There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president, no matter what..."
With serious and demonstrable charges of administration wrongdoing popping up every day, conservatives are rightfully angry at the desultory treatment they get from the media. At Just One Minute, the poster known as "daddy" summarizes that feeling well: Worth mentioning how the NY Times and the WaPo and Andrea Mitchell and ABC/NBC/CBS/CNN etc, were all so interested in Sarah Palin´s Emails, that they recruited volunteers across the nation to help them pore thru them. Yet when Lisa Jackson specifically uses false email aliases like "Richard Windsor" (unethically and probably illegally) to conduct Government business, and Sebelius today is discovered
There have been days since her son Ezekiel was born 11 months ago that Los Angeles mom Beth Capper has gone without food to keep up her supply. One friend was arrested for stealing some. It´s not drugs or alcohol or even baby formula that has put her in such a bind. It´s diapers. "There´s no way around buying them," said Capper, a 41-year-old single mother who doesn´t work because of a disability. Across the country, mothers like Capper are facing the same predicament. According to a report published Monday in the
Conservative bloggers went wild Monday when they got wind of the Congressional Black Caucus’ suggestion that President Obama pick Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston for the post of Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security. Rich Cooper, avid blogger for Security Debrief, responded to the news of the Jackson Lee recommendation in a post by saying, “Apparently, it is not a joke. For reasons that baffle any sense of reality, it is a serious gesture on the part of the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) to encourage President Obama to nominate Rep. Jackson Lee
It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. But within a decade, it is expected that the ocean which the village of Kivalina has so relied on will completely destroy it--creating America´s first climate change refugees. Temperatures in the Arctic region of Alaska are warming twice as fast as the rest of the U.S, causing ice to retreat, sea levels to rise and coastal erosion to increase. It is a small Alaskan village whose inhabitants have relied on the sea for countless generations. The 400 indigenous Inuit inhabitants of Kivalina, who live
A year after resigning from congress over his first sexting scandal, Anthony Weiner claimed that he was a mellowed out new father working every day to be a better husband by doing chores around the house. "Every day since this has happened, I´ve tried to become a better person, a husband that Huma deserves and as good a father as I can be," Weiner told People Magazine in outtakes released Sunday from his now infamous July 18, 2012 interview. "I´ve explored every way to try to do those things and I´m committed to continuing on that path."
Anthony Weiner may have violated federal law when he failed to disclose his lavish six-figure wedding in his financial disclosure forms, says a government accountability group. Ethics watchdog group National Legal and Policy Center examined the federal Financial Disclosure Reports for both Weiner and long-suffering wife Huma Abedin for 2010, the year of their wedding. The cost for the ceremony was at least $100,000 but probably ran closer to $250,000 including all
America is in great shape energy-wise. We have more gas and oil reserves than ever before. Indeed, the United States could shortly become the world’s largest exporter of coal. Our cheaper power rates may bring energy-intensive industry back from Europe and Asia. If America’s small colleges are nearly broke and our public schools failing, nonetheless our blue-chip universities’ math, science, and engineering departments, and professional schools, remain the best in the world. (Snip)In our age, Nobel laureate, exempt Al Gore proved a fraud: the feminist who was accused of groping a woman in crazed sex-poodle fashion;
Many low-income families receive government assistance to help them purchase food and housing. Diapers are another story, a new study suggests. In what they are calling the first peer-reviewed study to quantify diaper need, Yale University researchers have found nearly a third of mothers cannot afford to purchase their infants diapers, raising health risks for not only babies but for moms who become stressed over the finances. "Notably absent from the antipoverty efforts targeting families is an essential staple for the health of children, diapers," wrote the researchers, led by Dr. Megan Smith,
Mideast: The sequester has "cost jobs," says President Obama, and "gutted investments in education and science and medical research." But somehow he´s earmarked $500 million for Hamas terrorists. Circumventing Congress and with no fanfare, President Obama last week issued an executive order enabling him to send an additional $500 million directly to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank — much of which you can bet will wind up going to the Iranian-backed Hamas terrorist organization. According to Obama, "it is important to the national security interests of the United States to waive the provisions of" Congress´ legislative restrictions "in
The mother of Trayvon Martin said Monday that she believed Florida’s Stand Your Ground law played a role in her son’s shooting death, but she wasn’t ready to support a boycott of the state for not changing the self-defense law. “The thing about this law is I just think it assisted the person who killed my son to get away with murder,” Sybrina Fulton, the mother of the 17-year-old from Miami Gardens, said at a National Bar Association event in Miami Beach. “I think we have to change these laws so people don’t get
A group of experts advising the nation’s premier cancer research institution has recommended sweeping changes in the approach to cancer detection and treatment, including changes in the very definition of cancer and eliminating the word entirely from some common diagnoses. (Snip) The group, which includes some of the top scientists in cancer research, also suggested that many lesions detected during breast, prostate, thyroid, lung and other cancer screenings should not be called cancer at all but should instead be reclassified as IDLE conditions, which stands for “indolent lesions of
In an interview on National Public Radio (NPR), House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said her new agenda for women will give mothers access to day care so they can “earn without carrying the burden of child care.” During the interview, aired on Weekend Edition Sunday, Pelosi spoke about her newly announced agenda, which is on her website, and is titled, “When Women Succeed, America Succeeds: An Economic Agenda for Women and Families,” a plan that includes universal pre-school and access to day care for working women, and an increase in the minimum wage.
