A Black Father
in the House

American Thinker, by Kevin Jackson

Original Article

By now you likely have heard that Chris Rock considers Barack Obama America´s father. If that is true, then would somebody call Child Protective Services and find us foster parents! For Chris Rock, America´s true Founding Fathers were disappointingly white. I suspect that whatever the color of America´s Founding Fathers might have been, they would not have approved of having a failure like Obama among their esteemed membership. Thought the Founding Fathers had many flaws, they were smart enough to eliminate the self-indulgent institution of slavery from America´s future.

Kevin Jackson provides some hard, unvarnished truth in another concise, well-written article.

I hope Chris Rock, and other like-minded souls, sees the article and the truth in it. But, it´s difficult to see past the blinders created by years of indoctrination, unless something happens to someone personally that opens their eyes and helps them to make the connection. Sometimes even that doesn´t help. Sad. Bad for them, and for all of us.

Calling a Spade a ´Garden Implement´

Early on in the Genesis chapter of the Bible much is made of Adam giving names to all living creatures. Like everything about the Bible, the meaning of this event is subject to many interpretations, the most often given is that it signals man’s dominion over the other creatures of the earth. I don’t dispute that reading, but to me, the naming description signifies that there can be no real communication among people unless the names we use mean the same thing to all of us. A spade certainly is a garden implement, but if you are in the gardening

The “I’m shocked, shocked” line from Casablanca is too much a cliché to carry any -- umm -- shock value, but surely it fits Putin’s actions against Ukraine. But the civilized world, mainly the Anglosphere, has long shown its utter indifference to human life by ignoring mass killings on a scale surpassed only by the Nazis and the Communists in the last century. More than a hundred thousand in Syria and still going on; perhaps a million or more in North Korea; millions in Africa, uncounted tens of thousands or more in Iran. The one place we intervened was Iraq, with

This week President Obama, following a long string of bloopers that the media underplays or ignores, spelled respect "R-S-P-E-C-T´". It was a fitting blunder in a week in which he and America´s left wing took a series of pratfalls. To start off, Medea Benjamin, master media manipulator and water carrier for countless leftist tyrants, winged into Cairo apparently to lend her inestimable support to the Moslem Brotherhood. The Egyptian government treated her less courteously than did the Democrat legislators who regularly let her and her pinko buddies disrupt Congressional hearings. In one instance her team, which had certainly been invited in by Democrats

When Paul Audley took the job as president of FilmL.A. in late 2008, he was astounded to discover that physical production on the $70 million pic “Battle: Los Angeles” wasn’t being done in Los Angeles.“It stunned me that the movie was shooting in Louisiana, and that the state of California was letting this happen,” he recalls. In the subsequent five years, the situation has only worsened, despite the film production incentive program California enacted in 2009, which provides for $100 million a year in tax credits for what’s usually 20% of production costs. That’s significantly smaller than programs offered by other

Nothing better depicted Obama´s illegal tampering with the clear words of ObamaCare -- his announcement this week that he was delaying the employer mandate for medium-sized companies -- than Michael Ramirez´ brilliant cartoon showing the law as a blank page in which Obama had continually changed its words and meaning. Along similar lines, Charles Krauthammer observes: But generally speaking you get past the next election by changing your policies, by announcing new initiatives, but not by wantonly changing the law lawlessly. This is stuff you do in a banana republic. It´s as if the law is simply a blackboard on which Obama

In the business world, a diligent board of directors would have long ago fired CEO Obama. Sometimes it takes only a year of less than expected earnings to result in the termination of a corporate CEO. A couple of underperforming years and a few reasons more, and a CEO would have his bags packed and stowed underneath his buck-stopping desk. A long list of problems -- especially one suggesting even a hint of fraud -- that fails to generate a satisfactory board response would stir shareholders and lenders to demand the resignation of not only the CEO and other key employees,

This week the big story was the tag end of the old JournoList gang trying to spin gold out of the dross of the Congressional Budget Report. The CBO report projected that by 2021 under ObamaCare more than 2 million full-time workers will find it financially advisable to quit work entirely or switch to part-time jobs in order to get more subsidies for healthcare insurance. To most of us who studied real economics or just paid attention to human nature, subsidizing indolence means you´ll get more of it. This week to an ever-diminishing audience President Obama outlined a pedestrian plan for the remainder of this year, amidst the usual hornswoggle of invited guests in the gallery and dubious daytime TV style anecdotal stories of their lives. More popular than ever is the wish that we could return to State of the Union messages being delivered on paper to Congress. In the meantime my friend Ignatz, the genius Sultan Knish (Daniel Greenfield) and even Vladimir Putin offered up some sage observations which underscore the rot at the heart of the administration and his party and the likely consequences of their

Contradicting the faultless, albeit far-fetched image he has of himself, Barack Obama is a man harassed by truth. That´s why, judging from his inability to accept personal responsibility, Barack Obama must be living in a constant state of agitated cognitive dissonance. The late Leon Festinger is the social psychologist who proposed the theory of cognitive dissonance. According to Festinger, until the person suffering with perceptual disharmony can find a way to justify wrong actions and decisions, it´s impossible to achieve a calm mental state, especially when those wrong actions and decisions challenge the way the cognitively dissonant individual sees himself.

A pair of potentially catastrophic cases will be argued before the Supreme Court on Tuesday. These cases are brought by privately held, for-profit corporations that are arguing their religious convictions should preclude them from offering employees the health insurance required by law. Specifically, these private employers don’t want to allow their employees’ insurance to cover some forms of birth control because, contrary to medicaland scientific evidence, they believe some birth control causes abortions. Corporations are not people. Corporations cannot have religious views. If religious rights are extended to corporations, it puts us on a slippery slope where any private company

Former President Jimmy Carter is back in the news this week publicizing a new book about women’s rights. Media Matters, the website of choice for Fox News haters everywhere, attacked the cable news network on Monday for using the term “homosexual” in its programming — advancing the peculiar argument that the scientific term has a “pejorative connotation.” The online “media watchdog” contends that calling gay people “homosexual” is “a practice that’s quickly falling out of favor with major news outlets due the term’s often pejorative connotation and frequent use by opponents of LGBT equality.” Fox News, they chide, “has yet to update its language when referring to gay and lesbian people.” Buttressing their argument? A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,

Most Supreme Court watchers are fixated these days on Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby—the important challenge to the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate scheduled for argument Tuesday. And why wouldn’t they be? With its potent mix of religion, sex, Obamacare, and prayerful corporations, it’s the blockbuster case of the term. It is also a crucial test of Chief Justice John Roberts’s leadership on the Supreme Court. Just two years ago, Roberts cast the deciding vote to largely uphold the Affordable Care Act. While the country remains divided over whether he acted like a traitor or a statesman, all would have to agree
