How Europe Bankrolls Terror
New York Times, by Nasser Weddady

Original Article

When northern Mali fell to terrorists and foreign militants last April, a debate began over the causes of the country’s chaotic collapse. Many argued that it was a direct byproduct of NATO’s 2011 intervention in Libya, which sent thousands of well-armed men across the Sahara to Mali. Others pointed to Mali’s internal corruption and ethnic divisions. But little was said about the most important factor: Europeans have knowingly bankrolled Islamist radicals with ransom payments since at least 2003. Sixteen years before the 9/11 attacks, the United States sold Iran weapons indirectly in the hopes of freeing American

Comments:
It all began with Iran-Contra. Paying ransom money and weapons to terrorist to be our friends. And it caught on worldwide. You´d think that there would be an update mentioning 0bama´s failed "Fast & Furious" program to arm drug dealers and the like in Mexico and elsewhere. No words about Benghazi, even though it is clear that weapons have been flowing from there all over Al Qaeda and Africa, among other continents.

It´s hard to tell if it´s Europe per se or the UN that bankrolls these thug dictators in Africa. The money Obama gives to the Palestinians is a bizarre payoff for them not getting statehood.Leftists believe they´re being crapped on by Israel and deserve compensation.

Arafat became one of the world´s richest people stealing this kind of handout. They want their population poor so they´ll be angry at someone, namely Israel.

I thought he was going to say Mali´s April 2012 fall to terrorists was due to the Obama administration which has been reported by the Slimes. Obama elite forces in Africa gave elite training to local soldiers. A group of the highly US trained soldiers flipped and went to Al Qaeda and overthrew an elected gov. in Mali. US military claimed not to have seen it coming. Meaning they´re inept. The author complains about $130 million in ransom. Where does he think $8-10 billion a month we give to a so-called Afghan war goes to? In Iraq we´re still paying billions a month, same as when the so-called war was going on. Everyone knows much of our money goes to organized crime, Al Qaeda, Taliban, pedophiles, etc.

London - A remarkable piece of high-tech data detective work has provided what looks to be the missing clue to the tragic fate of missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370, an expert said Monday. Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak earlier on Monday said that information provided by British satellite company Inmarsat and the British government´s Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB) confirmed that MH370 had flown to a remote part of the Indian Ocean where the flight ended. (Snip) Inmarsat had come up with a theory to apply to the data it had collected from MH370 during the flight, and had then tested the results on aircraft in

Cairo - An Egyptian court has sentenced 529 people to death in the largest capital punishment case on record in Egypt, judicial authorities said Monday. The alleged supporters of ousted Islamist president Mohamed Morsi were convicted on charges of killing a single police officer, the attempted murder of two other officers, and attacking a police station in the Nile Valley city of Minya in August. Sixteen people were acquitted. The mass sentencing underscored the severity of an ongoing campaign by Egypt’s military-backed leaders to silence opposition, eight months after a military coup ousted Morsi, the country’s first democratically elected

The Energy Department gave conditional approval on Monday to an Oregon-based facility to export liquefied natural gas, in a move hailed by the energy industry and congressional lawmakers who want the U.S. to step up gas exports to counter Russian influence. "Given the situation in Ukraine, this license sends a positive signal to our allies and to energy markets that the United States is ready to join the growing global gas trade," Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, said in a statement. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle for weeks have been pressing the Obama administration to expedite permits for natural gas exports,

Moscow - When the commander of NATO forces in Europe said Sunday that he was worried about Russian troops moving across Ukraine to Transnistria, he was talking about a sliver of land that has existed largely outside the international system and outside the law for the past 22 years. (Snip) Transnistria broke away from Moldova almost as soon as the Soviet Union collapsed at the end of 1991 – and has maintained itself as a Russian-speaking enclave ever since. Many ethnic Russians and Ukrainians lived primarily in the more industrial eastern parts of the former Soviet republic and they wanted no part of the new Moldova.

5 Former Madoff Aides

A federal jury on Monday found five associates of the convicted swindler Bernard L. Madoff guilty on 31 counts of aiding one of the largest Ponzi schemes in history. The case centered around whether or not the employees had committed securities fraud and other deceptive acts to knowingly mislead auditors and investors in Madoff Securities. The trial in the United States District Court in Manhattan went on for more than five months, making it one of the longest white-collar trials in recent memory. The five aides each face decades in prison, although the judge will be able to use her discretion in sentencing. “I’d be very surprised if a federal judge

“Ban Bossy,” a new feminist campaign started by Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg, uses ancient surveys and misleading facts to claim the word “bossy” hurts girls. And, as you might expect, the claims don’t support the campaign’s mission. Claim 1: “By middle school, girls are 25 percent less likely than boys to say they like taking the lead.” This study was conducted between 1992 and 1997, so it´s already out of date. The study found when students were asked if they “like to take the lead when a group does things together” 72 percent of sixth-grade boys reported yes, versus 54 percent of sixth-grade girls.

Oil that spewed from BP’s Deepwater Horizon spill caused heart deformities in embryos and young tuna in the Gulf of Mexico, potentially slowing some of the fastest swimmers in the ocean, and impeding their ability to catch prey and survive, a new study has found. The implications to the ecosystem and the commercial fishery are stark, said the authors of the study, led by the federal National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association. The April 2010 spill occurred when tuna were in the area to spawn. Millions of embryos were affected at the most sensitive time of life, when they are so fragile it is possible to see through them.

New York Times reporter James Risen has been in a years-long legal battle against the government to reveal one of his confidential sources, even petitioning the Supreme Court to hear his case. He’s been very critical of President Obama‘s administration for its “aggressive use of the powers of the government to try to rein in independent national security reporting,” and in a recent journalism forum, Risen took another shot at the White House for being an enemy of press freedom. In fact, Risen went so far as to say the current administration is one of the biggest threats to such freedoms in a while: [Risen] opened the conference earlier by

Glenn Beck panned the new film Noah last Friday, but over the weekend he saw the movie to see if it was better than the reviews said. Beck came out of that experience bewildered at some of the creative license in the film and how Noah was portrayed as a “homicidal maniac.” Someone at Paramount reached out to Beck and invited him to watch the movie, but Beck found it hard to contain his shock as the film unfolded, even giggling at parts involving the “rock people” sent by God to help out Noah. Beck credited the movie for not being the climate change propaganda some reviews made it out to be, but aside from that, he said,

WASHINGTON — Mitt Romney said Sunday that President Barack Obama is naive when it comes to Russia, has shown "faulty judgment" about Moscow´s intentions and could have done more to try to deter its annexation of Crimea. The 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Obama didn´t have the foresight to anticipate Russia´s moves and should have been working earlier with allies to make clear the penalties that Russia would face if it moved into Ukraine. Romney did acknowledge that such steps may not have been enough though to hold back Russia President Vladimir Putin. "Had we communicated those things, there´s always

A few weeks ago, I wrote about how the sweeping acceptance of gay marriage in recent years is owed in large part to Christianity. Rejecting the rigidly hierarchical and stratified societies of the ancient world, Jesus Christ taught the equal dignity of all persons, proclaimed that the meek shall inherit the earth, and declared that the last shall be first and the first shall be last. The Western world has been working out the logic of these subversive teachings ever since, with the institutional transformation of marriage being the latest, though surely not the last, example of its social, moral,
