The book is from the ´70s and an easy read, but SOOOOO truthful.

Well, I for one am glad that the media has concentrated on what effects us the most, politicians drinking water. Never mind the hopeless unemployment figures. Never mind the abysmal state of foreign affairs. Never mind the staggering multi-trillion dollar debt that will have to be paid for by our children, grand children and great grand children. Never mind the drastic decline in public morality. Never mind the failing schools that annually cost more than all the other schools in the world. Never mind the gross corruption and incompetence in the Administration. Never mind our loss of preteige in the world. Marco Rubio took a sip of water on television for God´s sake!!! Oh the humanity!!!!

I don´t get it. Can a lefty explain to me how this is bad for Rubio? How this is even a gaffe, in any sense whatsoever? It´s not even funny.

The left is trying to turn an everyday event into a gaffe but it´s not working. They are showing their hand on this one because they fear him. He´s bright, articulate, well spoken, and they can´t stand it. His message was spot on but they ridicule him for taking a drink of water instead.

Wow! He took a swig of water! How horrible! Can you imagine him stopping to take a quick drink if he was involved in a crisis like, say, Benghazi? Or bowing to the Saudi king? Oh, the humanity! /S

Like "mean girls" trying to marginalize a school rival, the media exploit every opportunity to freeze-frame a popular Republican in an awkward moment. For Gerry Ford, it was falling down. For Dan Quayle it was misspelling potato. For Sarah Palin it was writing on the palm of her hand. For Mitt Romney, it was the image of once transporting his dog in a cage affixed to the top of the family station wagon.

My only criticism of Rubio´s splendid text is that he slightly rushed it. In public speaking, less is more. Whereas we read quickly, we hear slowly. The ear welcomes fewer words, slowly paced and punctuated with pauses. As for the water, next time put a glass of it in plain sight at waist level. Reach for it deliberately, say "excuse me," pause and sip. All speakers do it at one time or another.

I also don´t understand the kindergarten reaction to Rubio drinking the water.Public speakers do this all the time including I would guess members of the Toastmasters Group!!
