This Friday, Dr. Ben Carson will sit down with Sean Hannity and a distinguished audience in a special one-hour show that revolves around one idea and one quest: saving America. Tonight, the Insider caught up with Dr. Carson before the taping of the special to get a preview of the show, as well as ask him some of our own burning questions about his inspirational career, his plans for the future, and of course, his reaction to the outpouring of response after his comments at last week’s National Prayer Breakfast. (Snip) Insider: Over the past week,
Comments: I know what I will be doing Friday night. I can´t wait to see him for an entire hour. It will sure be intersting.
I think this is terrific. One thing I just can´t get over, however, is how many stupid lefties had said so many horrible things about Dr. Carson on the Mediaite comments section a couple days ago. How could anyone, even if they disagree with his views, say nasty things about this man?? I don´t get it.
#1, I think it is because they think that they successfully destroyed Sarah Palin through ridicule, that now they can do it to any conservative that shows up. Particularly if that person is black and avowedly Christian. Such people are traitors to their race and should not be allowed to express themselves publicly, just as Sarah Palin was a traitor to her sex. Also consider the tenor of the comments. The juvenile quality suggests that the commentators read like they are 15 years old.
Our problem is not low information voters, our problem is high sin voters. These folks have no fear of God because our nation is filled with compromising preachers. As Martin Luther King preached, let judgement run down like waters and righteousness as a mighty stream. Our nation has departed so far from God that Dr. Carson´s words are like rain in a desert land.
I added the tv movie made about him, Gifted Hands:The Ben Carson Story, starring Cuba Gooding Jr to my netflix list and will move it up. I´ve read a brief summary of his life and it should be very interesting. Every interview I´ve heard with him is so encouraging. Such a contrast to Obama, night and day.
I know what I´ll be doing on Friday night. This should be good TV.
Reply 1 - don´t forget that the democrat party pays a few people to be a web presence of hundreds if not thousands, directed specifically to respond negatively and mock those they don´t like. They join something like Lucianne or respond to newspaper articles, using different user names and email addresses with directions to cause havoc.
The days of one person, one opinion are gone. How many different email addresses do you have? and you´re legit.
Anyone that has time to write numerous hateful and stupid comments has to be a worthless POS, unemployable and friendless. Probably spends the rest of the day sleeping and watching sob sister talk shows. Homo porn during the commercials. Only physical activity is onanism.
We streamed "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story" last night and watched it with renewed perspective. Cuba Gooding did a fine job portraying Dr. Carson.
This man IS presidential material because he is sane. He is rational, Godly, reasonable, committed to certain core conservative values and fearless - his strength comes from God, which he is the first to admit.
Dr. Carson said in an interview that "if God grabs him by the collar", viz running for POTUS, he would do it. Well, God does use other human beings to do His work so let´s begin the draft process for Dr. Carson for POTUS.
The Left will try tearing him apart as they always do, but you can be certain that a black conservative, successful Republican would be the Left´s worst nightmare. They tried it with Clarence Thomas, with Michel Faulkins, J.C.Watts, and they´ll try it again.
But Carson is different; he´s got a long track record of helping people, saving babies and doing good. Watching the Left go after him would be worth the price of the ticket because they would lose.
Dr Carson appears to be a fine, principled man, an exceptional speaker, with great insight and the courage of his convictions. Truly a motivational person.
Having said all that, it disturbs me to read psters on this forum suggesting that he run for senator, and even president. Have we stooped down to become low information voters? People, beyond Dr. Carson´s exceptional qualities as described above, what makes anyone think that he has the qualifications, ability, inclination, and even competence to hold public office--especially that of President? Public office should not be a celebrity poularity contest. After we have been pounding on Obama´s inexperience and incompetence to be POTUS for the last 6 years, are we to now do the same with Dr. Carson? I greatly admire the man, but not as POTUS.

Hubby can´t always take Hannity´s pontifications, but I´ll definitely DVR this one for later, and maybe he´ll watch with me.
Watching the professional Left´s hysterics and histrionics over Dr. Carson reminds me of the scene in the Wizard of Oz, where Dorothy pours a bucket of water over the Wicked Witch´s who´s on fire.... intending to do a good thing, but actually doing a REALLY good thing quite inadvertently. We need more Dorothys drowning out the Left´s destructive fires.
Like most others here, I will be watching Hannity on Friday with anticipation. Dr. Carson "warms the cockles of my heart" when he speaks, and I feel hopeful again.
#3 is so right - "our problem is high sin voters". It seems that both Protestant and Catholic churches have leaders who are compromising God´s will by deviating from His Commandments. Personally, I think that the big Ten (I don´t mean basketball teams) are perfectly clear. I believe one of those big Ten tells us not to lie; so if we applaud a leader who lies like a rug, what does that say about us as a nation?
The left attacks him because he represents the direct opposite of Fauxbama. He´s a person of real accomplishments. Every day he bears heavy responsibilities and his successes and failures are obvious. There is transparency. There is no delegation of responsibility, no tolerance of lies. What you see is what you get. No obfuscation and pure common sense. And he´s right: we already have too many lawyers.
Agree with #3. We have a country who has fallen so far away from God, I think it is ludicrous to keep asking for His blessings. When I pray I ask Him for mercy. I also ask Him to send us good and decent individuals to govern us. I think my prayers have been answered with Dr. Carson and few others. I´ll keep praying for more. All I can say is Judgement Day will certainly be interesting. I´ll bet that many of our current crop of ´leaders´ will be standing before the Lord with what I call the ´E-Trade Baby Surprised Face´. I hope they´ll be wearing diapers ´cause thy´re going to need them.
As head of pediatrics, Dr. Carson has more governing and management experience than Obama does today, seeing as has yet to do any of that. That being said, I would very much like to see him enter public life, as a representative, Senator, or Cabinet appointee (HHS?). Wouldn´t it be great if he became a role model - people spend their lives doing something great, building expertise, gaining wisdom, and then enter public life to serve the people when it is most appropriate instead of the career lawyers/politicians we have now?
The very best, most dramatic, no explanations needed, antidote for the ravaging poisons of stealth Communist Obama, is to see and hear clearly more and more of the fantastic black culture that we have in every city and village of America, and all of them, millions of them, speaking up that same way Ben Carson speaks up. Ben Carson is truly an accomplished member of our society, but we need every level of accomplishment to speak up. Every righeous non socialist human being in America, needs to speak up. Vox Pop. We´ve got to verbally beat down the would be golfing dictator, all his Marxist comrades and the entire main stream totalitarian Diane Sawyer, Brian Wms Steve Pelley nightly brainwashers.

Dr Carson is a communicator. He can explain complex medical concepts and goals to frightened parents. He leads a large team of people (JHU Pediatric Neurosurg.) to accomplish great things. A great man once said it´s amazing what can get done when you don´t worry about who gets the credit. He won´t worry about getting the credit, "his legacy". If he answers God´s call to heal our nation, then he will answer, "Here I am Lord. Send me."
I don´t fear the storm that is coming from the left in order to destroy Dr. Carson´s threat to Obama and their progressive agenda. They will be as visicious wolves, but the real threat will come from the republicans who see Dr. Carson as a threat to their power and control. They can´t just have anyone rise to the position of a possible candidate for President without paying their dues to the party machine and political consultants. They can´t have that. Admittedly, Dr. Carson is a political novice, but he is a man of accomplishment and honor and that is in short supply in this day and age. His biggest obstacle will be the fact that it won´t be his turn and we just can´t have that.
Before Carson, Rubio, cruz and Cotton are pilloried by the Dems for "drinking the water" (or whatever), I´d like them to take the initiative by condemning Obama´s administration as a dictatorship--citing examples from the headlines. That will force Zippy and Co. to defend themselves and their anti-American behavior.
I would be interested in hearing more From Ben Carson. I have only known of his work professionally since before last week. Of course the media will go after him because they are stupid and ignorant. He has a professional record for at least 40 years of helping people far more than any other person that Democrats know about. The man is accomplished in this area. As for politics? He lives in Maryland, folks. Senator? Not even House Rep. Get a grip.
However, he has a message of accomplishment, responsibility and healing. He´s more than Obama ever dreamed of being. He has a message and I hope he spreads it all over the state of MD and maybe the US.
Here in VA we have a great Black speaker and Conservative. Right now he is running for LT. Gov. in VA. There are 6 other candidates. He is dynamic, funny, intellectual and Conservative. Right this second he is going around the Tidewater and VA Beach area telling Blacks the story of what they can accomplish and be without the government. He and Ben Carson have the same story. How this translates to politics and runnning for office, I don´t know yet, but these two men are doing their part to warn the LoFoVo of what they have to lose by backing the Democrat Party
Make no mistake The Obama machine is frantically searching for the skeleton in the closet that can be blown out if proportion to mark the good doctor. What sickens me is when the republicans turn their backs and don´t defend. I watched that happen with every presidential candidate who rose to the top. The Dems honed their skill with Sarah Palin and the republicans perfected the cower.
Amen # 11. Just because Dr Carson is a gifted speaker and a brilliant neurosurgeon does not mean he´s qualified to become POTUS. Obama is obviously unqualified, but, two wrongs don´t make a right. Dr Carson is a good advocate for our side on Obamacare and we should let that be enough . The rush to nominate someone based on a single speech makes us look silly and unserious. Like the Democrats did with Obama.
I think Dr. Carson knows what is coming and is prepared for it. Or he would not have made those remarks in that venue. My hope for him is that he represents the best aspirations of Libertarians and the TEA party and shuns the corrupt failure that is the GOP.
I am a recovering "lo-fo"---I believed everything the RNC declared. Now I realize how these people have caused the democrat surge by being selfish, power hungry weasels just like the Dems. They withheld money from tea party candidates who beat out the RNC faves then blamed the tea party for the loss. My rule of thumb: if both Dems and RNC belittle a candidate, then he or she is probably worth supporting.
Comments here indicate people feel Dr Carson does not have the experience to be President. A President´s primary job is to be a leader and to pick the best people for each position under him. It also helps to be a patriotic, ethical, honest, strong individual that commands respect, from other Countries as well as from our own citizens. The current President has none of these values, in my opinion. Lets all watch and learn Friday night. It will be the first time I watched anything but TV sports and movies for quite a while. Could not stomach all the drivel, even on what became P.C. Fox Cable news. Hoping to find a dark horse in Dr. Carson, ( no racism intended ). Not much you can say today in public that isn´t considered as such. The left destroyed Mr Cain´s chances. Let´s hope they fail if Dr Carson looks to be Presidential material. I know virtually nothing about him except he stood up to Obama in a public venue and that speaks volumes. We need an unafraid fighter to break the back of the tyranny we are excperiencing
Posters who refer to a loud-mouthed LTC cannot be referring to Congressman Allen West! Really! Why don´t we just let this shake out according to a Plan better than the one we have been following? I am looking forward to seeing Hannity and watching Gifted Hands when it arrives in our mailbox.
he first two months of Obamacare created a rare convergence between supporters and opponents of the law: Everyone agreed that the rollout was a disaster. The consensus reached all the way up to President Obama himself, who went so far as to list the "poor execution on my administration’s part" alongside the GOP´s "reckless shutdown" as reasons that "frustrations with Washington are at an all-time high." It was like an Obamacare miracle. But with HealthCare.gov improving, the convergence is ending. For Obamacare´s supporters, the IT problems really were IT problems. Now that the Web site is working the law will
Kanye West speaking with SaturdayNightOnline.com host Garrett, West Saturday night “Like, I’m just giving of my body on the stage; I’m putting my life at risk, literally!” “When I think about when I’m on the ‘Can’t Tell Me Nothing,’ and ‘Coldest Winter’ moment, like that mountain goes really, really high. And if I slipped… You never know. And I think about it. I think about my family and I’m like, wow, this is like being a police officer or something, in war or something.”
Kevin Kolbye, Assistant Special Agent in Charge for the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Dallas, served as the on-scene commander for the Benghazi investigation but has not yet testified before Congress about what he knows. Republican Congressman Frank Wolf wants to know why. Kolbye addressed the GovSec West Conference in Dallas in late November and discussed various aspects of the Benghazi investigation with attendees. During his presentation, Kolbye noted that, contrary to initial reports, FBI assets were on the scene in Benghazi within a few days after the attack. Breitbart News reported that story when it broke.
On Sunday, a media reporter for the Washington Post said he believed that MSNBC had fired host Martin Bashir because conservatives were relentless and did not quit in hammering Bashir and MSNBC for Bashir´s suggestion that someone should urinate and defecate in the mouth of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Bashir resigned from MSNBC last week, nearly a month after he made his scripted remarks on his MSNBC program. Appearing on CNN´s Reliable Sources with host Brian Stelter, the Post´s Paul Farhi said "the outrage was from the right, the idea that Sarah Palin and, by the way, a woman, obviously was
Firebrand Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman on Monday mounted a surprise primary challenge to Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), setting the stage for the latest potentially explosive battle between a tea party darling and an incumbent firmly backed by the GOP establishment. Stockman, a far-right conservative who has called for the president’s impeachment, filed for the seat minutes before the 6 p.m. local deadline, confirmed Spencer Yeldell, a spokesman for the Republican Party of Texas. Cornyn — with cash-on-hand clocking in at nearly $7 million — is still the heavy favorite, but Stockman’s entry into the race could force
On Monday, the National Journal reported that "documents filed by other groups show that two labor organizations, the International Union of Operating Engineers and the Laborers´ International Union of North America, directed a combined $400,000 to the Republican group [the Defending Main Street super PAC] in September and October." The Defending Main Street super PAC was organized at the end of 2012 by former Congressman Steve LaTourette (R-OH), and has very publicly declared war on the Tea Party. It is affiliated with and has offices at the same location as the Republican Main Street Project, which LaTourette currently
New York Republican Rep. Peter King, who has been vocal about his interest in running for president in 2016, won´t shy away from a fight with another tough-talking Northeastern politician. “You should ask Chris Christie if me being in the race disqualifies him," King told City & State when asked whether the New Jersey governor´s likely candidacy will preclude his own. King announced his interest in the race earlier this year but hasn´t yet made an official decision to enter, and many observers believe Christie´s candidacy would overshadow King´s, as they´re both tough-taking moderate Republicans from neighboring states. King has so far
George Zimmerman´s defense lawyer has asked a judge to allow him to see his girlfriend, who has recanted the domestic violence allegations which led to his arrest last month, new court documents show. The apparent about-face by Zimmerman´s girlfriend, Samantha Scheibe, throws his latest criminal case into doubt, leaving prosecutors to reassess whether or not to pursue charges. "I want to be with George," Scheibe says in a sworn statement which accompanies a new motion. She adds: "I do not want George Zimmerman charged. I make this decision freely, knowingly and voluntarily, without any intimidation coercion or undue
Controversial House Democrat Alan Grayson lost $18 million as part of a criminal scheme run by a Virginia man that bilked more than 100 investors out of more than $35 million, according to federal court documents. William Dean Chapman, 44, of Sterling, Va.,was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison on Friday. Chapman pled guilty to one count of wire fraud in May, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office for the Eastern District of Virginia, which oversaw the case. Chapman was the founder and owner of Alexander Capital Markets. Customers would give their stock holdings to Chapman as collateral for loans. Chapman
President Barack Obama is bringing his family of aides and advisors down to South Africa for Nelson Mandela’s mass-media send-off. “For us it’s the President and the First Lady, the Attorney General [Eric Holder], Susan Rice, Valerie Jarrett,” Ben Rhodes, the White House’ deputy national security advisor for strategic communications, told reporters during an impromptu press conference on Air Force One. Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State John Kerry are staying behind, but former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was on board Air Force One as well. The memorial is expected to be attended by hundreds of world
For the last few weeks, the media has been having a quiet debate about whether or not to take a stand against using official White House photos in protest against being shut out of many White House events. On Monday, MSNBC anchor Chuck Todd took things a step further, calling the limited press access “a version of propaganda.” Todd qualified that statement to make it clear he’s not saying this is out-and-out, overt propaganda, but argued it does come across to people as such when outside photographers aren’t allowed access. AP photojournalist Charlie Dharapak agreed, adding that it’s a “visual press
Many of the city’s major clothing stores tried to defuse the “shop and frisk” scandal on Monday by agreeing to an anti-profiling policy demanded by civil-rights activists led by the Rev. Al Sharpton. Barneys, Macy’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Lord & Taylor and the Gap are among the retailers that promised to post and abide by a “Customers’ Bill of Rights” in the wake of allegations that some black shoppers were targeted for questioning by cops after purchasing pricey items. The move followed a sluggish start to the Christmas shopping season, which is unusually short this year due to late date
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
A veteran Washington adviser who has worked for four Presidents on both sides of the political aisle said that the stunning Government Accountability Report report that found President Barack Obama has not had a one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare over three years ago is an indictment of the entire White House operation and shows that the Obama administration has bordered on "malfeasance." "I have no doubt the White House is right, that Secretary Sebelius was in several group meetings with the president about health care," Gergen caveated, "but the whole
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
The U.S. isn´t called "America the Beautiful" for nothing. Each year, millions of tourists come from home and abroad to see the country´s majestic landscape and iconic sites, from the Grand Canyon to the Statue of Liberty. But there are also cool, quirky attractions, like Vermont´s Ben & Jerry´s Factory and Tennessee´s Graceland, the former home of Rock and Roll King Elvis Presley. From California to New York and everywhere in between, the country is chock-full of incredible attractions that keep luring in visitors. Here are the best tourist attractions in every state.
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
Call me Grinch, call me Scrooge. Call me Lord Voldemort of the Yuletide. None could be worse than sending me a holiday card with glossy photographs of your lovely, smiling family. My wife, Emily, and I place your cards like trophies on our shelves, continuing an old-school practice that began about 175 years ago as a way of maintaining relationships as families and friends moved far and wide. Today’s cards may appear more personalized — with photos of spouses, kids and pets, and distribution lists much smaller than a sprawling collection of Facebook friends. But when I flip over the photo
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a last minute decision not to participate in a memorial service for the late South African President Nelson Mandela, despite having notified the South African government that he would attend the event. The decision was made in light of the high transportation costs resulting from the short notice of the trip and the security required for the prime minister in Johannesburg. The Prime Minister’s Office found that the trip would have cost roughly 7 million shekels ($2.4 million) – 2.8 million shekels for chartering a private El Al plane and a further 3.2 million shekels for
