| In today´s debate in the Senate Armed Services Committee over the confirmation of former Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE), Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) engaged in heated debate with committee chair Sen. Carl Levin (D-MI) over the question of whether Hagel had complied with the committee´s questions and standards on financial disclosure. Cruz argued that Hagel had flatly refused to answer a question posed to him by several Senators about all significant compensation he had received over the previous five years. Levin replied that the committee´s rule applied only to the past two years, and suggested that Cruz was holding Hagel

So Sen. Cruz is doing what is right and is attacked and rebuked by the arrogant jerk Levin. The absolutely worst part of this farce is that the one and only McPain then steps in to defend Hagel (who he previously attacked) and also rebuked Cruz. It´s outrageous, sickening and appalling what is going on in the Republican party.

Nelson was a punk. I watched this yesterday. I didn´t think McCain rebuked Cruz. Breitbart lately seems to have a need to sensationalize. Cruz looked like a trial lawyer on a fishing expedition. He hurt himself with his confessions that he had no evidence but still wanted answers to questions that were outside the parameters the committee had set up.
McCain has walked back his no filibuster stance. Susan Collins had been purported to be a yes vote on Hagel, but she does as John does. Reid may not be able to get to 60. Hagel just might be toast.

# 2 - your can hear in his own words--more than one video posted on Brietbart today. He was approached by a reporter and gave a response to the many subjects you mentioned.
Nelson berated Cruz and McCain joined with Nelson protecting Hagel. And, there were certainly no childish pranks as the arrogance of one shines through in your comment.
Perhaps if more had the spine and moral conviction of Cruz we would not be in the economical downturn as we are today. Freshman Senator or not, Cruz is not afraid to stand up for what is right. Can you say the same about McCain--------don´t think so!

Wowee, boy. There´s a defense written in tapioca.
So it´s OK to be crooked in years not asked about? Or that the the Committee has no obligation to look past X many months? Those are surely ways to weasel "out of trouble" with Levin´s 2-year "standard."

I went back and replayed the video twice. The form question is, have you received funding from a foreign country in the last 10 years. Hagel´s answer is, No. Then the committee finds out that in the last 4 years, foundations Hagel leads have indeed received foreign funds. When asked whether any of those funds were from foreign governments the answer is for 6 foundations the answer is no. For the seventh, he can´t an won´t say. Levin stumbles when he admits that the question is 10 years even though he will only allow questions on 2 years.

I´ve admired Senator Cruz since I first heard about his run for the senate. He´s consistent, principled, and won´t take bullying or B-S. He´s one of the younger (compared to me) generation that can, and will, carry the conservative message onward.

Two-thirds of Democrats now believe Obama´s health care reforms will either hurt them personally or have no effect on their daily lives, a Quinnipiac University poll released Thursday shows. RUSH: Folks, I don´t know how else to categorize this. We are living in a dying country. I don´t know how else to categorize what´s happening -- 88,000 new jobs. The unemployment rate, because of a terrible statistic, is down to 7.6%. The number of people in this country who are not working is shameful. Ninety million Americans are no longer in the workforce. Ninety million. People not in the labor force grew by 663,000, and now 90 million. That´s the labor force participation rate. This is 1979 levels.
