Using State of the Union

WASHINGTON — Seats at President Obama´s State of the Union address Tuesday night will be filled with the legislative priorities of a bitterly divided Congress. Efforts to humanize intensifying national policy battles will bring some strange bedfellows to the address, where a survivor of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre will find herself in the same audience as Ted Nugent, a rocker turned gun rights activist who was the subject of a Secret Service investigation last year after making controversial remarks about Obama. Nugent´s invitation, which came from Rep. Steve Stockman (R-Texas), was announced Monday, about the time

As for me, NOTHING (short of ether) could get me to sit and listen to the Leftist Moron give his SOU address;
I would be twitching, twisting, reaching for the sidearm I couldn´t bring in to the House chamber. When you see a varmint, you´re supposed to shoot it

Listening to president skeeter lie one more time about everything is like dying and going to hell (well, that´s how I imagine it). No thank you. Tomorrow is trash day and I must change the litter boxes. It´s a true shame that we can´t put skeeter and moochelle on the curb to be picked up tomorrow morning. I am sure the msm will let us know how brilliantly he read the teleprompter.

Does the LSM think the LIV will watch the evil one lie for 60 minutes? It doesn´t matter who the Dems USE as "guests," no one of consequence will be watching.
As Rush said today it would be sickening to have to watch the Dem congress-critters standing and applauding themselves over and over for destroying our nation.

Irish Deputy First Minister and ex-IRA commander Martin McGuinness has arrived at Windsor Castle this evening, for a State Banquet to mark the visit of Ireland´s President Michael D Higgins - the first ever visit by an Irish head of state. Hours earlier President Higgins delivered a historic speech at the Houses of Parliament - the first time Ireland´s head of state has been given the honour - telling politicians the two countries now have a closeness that once seemed unachieveable. His four-day trip is a sign that relations between the two countries have been transformed since the Queen´s historic

More mothers have been staying home with their children since the recession ended, but a growing number of them say that’s primarily because they can’t find a job, according to a new study. Almost three in 10 mothers with children under 18 living with them are stay-at-home moms, an analysis of Census Bureau data by the Pew Research Center showed. That is a 3 percentage point jump from the depth of the recession in 2008. (Snip) After decades of decline, the share of mothers with children in the house has been growing since around 2000. Attorney General Eric Holder got into a heated argument with a Republican congressman Tuesday over the still-pending contempt case against him. Holder was testifying before the House Judiciary Committee when Rep. Louie Gohmert, R-Texas, began pressing him for documents in a separate investigation. Gohmert brought up an apparent sore spot, referencing the 2012 House vote finding Holder in contempt of Congress. "I realize that contempt is not a big deal to our attorney general, but it is important that we have proper oversight," Gohmert said. A visibly annoyed Holder said: "You don´t want to go there, buddy." Leaning back in

Here is a college quiz. While many parts of the U.S. economy struggle to recover from the Great Recession of 2008-09, one domestic industry is experiencing a technology-driven expansion in which American innovations have led to countless new company startups, a surge in hiring and some of the highest-paying entry-level jobs for graduating college seniors. How are the nation´s universities responding so students might prepare for a promising career in this growing and intellectually challenging field? By largely ignoring it. Why? Because the industry is oil and gas. This fact may surprise the casual campus observer, since almost every U.S. college

CONCORD, N.H. — Republican Scott Brown said Monday he will kick off his next campaign for U.S. Senate in Portsmouth, the New Hampshire city he says played a special role in his childhood. The former Massachusetts senator will formally announce his bid for the seat held by Democrat Jeanne Shaheen at the Portsmouth Harborside Hotel on Thursday night. “I remember our house on Islington Street, strolling through Strawbery Banke with my grandfather, and catching a show at Prescott Park. Now, Portsmouth is going to be the start of the next chapter in my life,” he told supporters in an email.

Sen. Jeanne Shaheen sure talks a lot about “outside” money. She raises campaign funds by claiming to protect the state from outside “special interests” who might help Scott Brown. Those poor donors probably have no idea how much money Shaheen raises from out-of-state special interests. According to the Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks campaign donations, Shaheen has raised 75 percent of her 2014 campaign cash from out of state. For her career, Shaheen’s top 10 metropolitan areas for campaign donations are, in order: Boston; New York City; Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles; Lowell, Mass; San Francisco; Manchester; Chicago; Portsmouth; Philadelphia.
