| San Francisco Supervisor Scott Wiener´s ban on baring it all in San Francisco notwithstanding, Nude Aid, a benefit for the Center for Sex and Culture, brought more than 30 artists and a dozen naked and fetish-clad models together for a pre-Valentine´s Day sketch session. Visitors hoping for an erotic thrill by seeing models in the buff got a different surprise (although the man with his face painted purple in the mode of a Mexican wrestling mask was an unexpected treat). The real voyeurism was peering over the shoulders of the artists as they worked

Must say - San Francisco - when I was growing up - wasn´t a place you´d hesitate to take your family for vacation.
It damn sure is now. Google ´Nancy Pelosis´ San Francisco´ for a looksee, or as a substitute for Syrup of Ipecac. Damn little in the way of actual ´art´ going on there, unless you´re into panoramic perv...

The notorious "San Francisco Democrats" as they came to be known, include some now ruining our nation.
Think of DiFi, Pelosi, Panetta, BoxoRox... all masters of disasters.
We maybe need to ditch the Four Corners and have a Divided States of America. Buh-Bye!

In my life drawing classes in college we had nude models all of the time. You get very used to it & there´s nothing erotic about it. Most people look better with clothes on, BTW. I used to be amused at shocked but oh-so-curious people asking me if it made me uncomfortable - it never did.

#7 is right. Most people´s bodies are a sad tale of slow decay after the early twenties. After that nature knows they are redundant and goes to work to recycle them. Movements and poses are interesting. Everyone has a style of their own, but a little modesty goes a long way.

Public schools across California have assigned thousands of teachers to classes without the proper credentials or legal authorization, a persistent problem that state and local education officials blame on mismanagement, budget shortages and a limited pool of qualified specialists. Untrained teachers have been assigned to a variety of difficult classes, including those filled with English-language learners and others with special intellectual and physical needs. In many cases, these teachers lack training in a particular subject that they´ve been assigned to teach, such as English or math.

A former offensive tackle for the San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders faces charges that he assaulted his boyfriend at a Menlo Park restaurant after an argument involving soy sauce and underpants, San Mateo County prosecutors said Monday. Kwame Harris, 30, became angry with Dimitri Geier, 36, in August 2012 at Su Hong restaurant on Menlo Avenue, according to court documents. The ex-football player lashed out when Geier tried to put soy sauce on Harris´ rice, said Al Serrato, a San Mateo County prosecutor. "Basically they're having dinner together

Many people turn to knitting as a means of stress reduction, and Harmeet Dhillon of San Francisco was no exception when she took up the hobby during college in 1986. Dhillon, however, has taken her interest in textiles a step or two further than most recreational knitters. In 2012, she founded Sea Ranch Woolworks,(Snip) She was born in rural India and is now as an award-winning trial attorney at the helm of her own firm, chairwoman of the Republican Party of San Francisco and a candidate for vice chair of the California Republican Party. It's usually easy to predict how particular California state legislators will vote on a bill: 99 percent of the time, Democrats vote the same way as the majority of their party; 94 percent of the time, Republicans vote the same way as the majority of their party, according to a Bee review of voting records from the 2011-2012 legislative session. The two parties are each unanimous in their support or rejection of a bill during the vast majority of votes. Every Democrat in the Assembly or Senate voted the same way on about 86 percent of bills.

California East Bay Rep. Pete Stark, a 20-term Democrat facing the toughest race of his career, refuses to debate his Democratic opponent Eric Swalwell, calls press questions “stupid,” and was a no-show at a senior voter candidates’ forum this week in his CD-15 district. And now there’s this: he’s producing his own campaign “news” videos, showing him taking “tough” questions — from his staff. In the video series called “Pete Stark taking the tough questions,” the often-inaccessble Congressman is shown serenely conversing in a library setting, where he’s apparently able to shield himself from pesky

The Sierra Club is spending $625,000 to defeat a Republican lawmaker who has championed one of the environmental organization’s most cherished goals – draining the Hetch Hetchy reservoir in Yosemite National Park. Campaign finance reports show that in September, the Sierra Club Independent Action super political action committee made several expenditures targeting U.S. Rep. Dan Lungren of Gold River, who is locked in a tight race against Democrat Dr. Ami Bera, an Elk Grove physician. The club is paying for a hard-edged series of TV commercials and mailers in the Sacramento-area district.

A messy fight between California's largest state employee union, SEIU Local 1000, and another union that has represented 160 of its staff has spilled into public view. As they battle for those workers, the United Auto Workers is calling Local 1000 a hypocritical union-buster. An official with the National Labor Relations Board says SEIU, as an employer, has engaged in "unfair labor practices." Headline split by staff.

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

"I don´t understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.” "What are we afraid of? ... If this issue is as important as we all think it is, why not take ... it up and debate?"

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
