| Dr. Benjamin Carson got quite a bit of attention for making a big speech at the National Prayer Breakfast Thursday morning sticking up for conservative principles, with President Obama in attendance. Sean Hannity invited Carson onto his show tonight, remarking that it was an “amazing speech.” Carson explained why he felt the need to speak out as he did against the policies of a man sitting mere feet from him. (Snip) Hannity told Carson that his speech “moved me deeply.” Carson said he has received overwhelmingly positive reactions since yesterday, mostly because he

Comments: What an incredibly humble, inspirational man! I could have listened to him for hours. His mother was such a proud woman who sure taught him right. What an utter contrast between him and the divisive, hateful man we now have in the White House. Hannity asked him if he would ever run for president. He said: If the Lord grabbed me by the collar and made me do it. Start praying Ldotters! It was so uplifting to hear him rather than hear all the hate and divisiveness being spewed forth all the time.

The way he spoke of doctors being involved in the formation of our country I could see him justifying is entry into politics. What an inspirational man. I read were before he was diagnosed with cancer he operated on over 300 children a year.
What a contrast, one man uses the hands God gave him to save children while the other uses them to kill.
The culture of life and death can not be contrasted more then it is between these two men.

Nice speech, and a courageous one with the prez sitting right there, and Mooch in the next seat over. Only one obvious fact spares the doc from the charges of racism that would otherwise be flying, though. On the other hand, good for the nation to be reminded that there is such a thing as an AA conservative, something the vote-counters in Philly and Cuyohoga County did not want us to know.

You may know more about Dr. Carson than I do, #3, so I´m just asking: how do you know he became a neurosurgeon at Johns Hopkins thanks to affirmative action? To me, one of the most pernicious aspects of AA is that when one sees a black doctor or black lawyer, one immediately thinks he or she did not get there on their own merits. What a shame for those who did.

You can tell that the doctor´s remarks were effective because of the resounding silence from the President and the MSM. If they thought there was a chink in the armor, the National Press Corpse (sic) would be in full attack mode now.

#5 I think AA actually stands for African American conservative? Outside of a few political figures we see very few AA conservatives. I know that they are out there but they get little visability as they fly in the face of the story line.

AA candidates do not have brilliant carriers. They either do not get through college or they do and have mediocre carriers. Dr. Carson is a brilliant hard working man who has earned everything the honorable way - he worked for it.

Boob Beckel on The Five took offense that the doctor would use a prayer breakfast to make a political statement. I disagree. Since Obama rarely takes questions and only does SeeBS style softball interviews, folks will communicate with him when and where they get a chance. With his ´´clever´´ filibustering and by not making himself available, he invites the treatment he is getting, like here from Dr. Carson.

If by AA, #3 means African American conservative,´ or perhaps ´true-blue, double-A conservative,´ then okay. But if the AA means affirmitave action, then in Dr. Carson´s case that is dead wrong. No one, black, Hispanic white or any other color gets to Dr. Carson´s position through affirmative action. Unlike politics where all that seems to be needed to get ahead is the gift of BS, ´faking it´ does not work in medicine in general, and most certainly not in neurosurgery.

Yesterday I watched the video of Dr. Carson’s Prayer Breakfast address during which BHO was on-screen for its entirety. It couldn’t have been more revealing. Obama looked as if he would have preferred being anywhere else in the world than where he was; maybe even undergoing waterboarding. Uncomfortable? You bet! And that’s the enormous understatement of at least the month.
I can only hope some people I know also witnessed what I did. But, I doubt it.
To my shock and amazement, friends who had been very close to me for many years voted for Obama in 2008. As if that wasn’t enough of a disillusioning letdown for me, they voted for him again in 2012. I thought I knew them. Obviously I didn’t. I look forward to the day he’s exposed to planet Earth for the bogus, fraudulent, incompetent, controlled-substance-amenable charlatan he is. It will be enlightening to observe my friends’ reactions which I plan to fully enjoy. Small of me? Certainly! Petty? Absolutely! But, I still intend to savor every delicious moment of it. There is just something exhilarating about being eminently entitled to utter the words, “See? I told you so!”

What a gifted man, who uses his God given talents to the fullest. I chuckled when the Dr. said...give the baby a birth certificate and MSA....ha... May I humbly add that the majestic Bald Eagle does fly with a left wing and a right wing...but also because it is FREE to fly..The dr. was FREE to accomplish all he has because of this great nation. Now we have someone who wants to stop us from being FREE to being dependant on the government. How sad. I would rather be president of a country with people like Dr.Carson, then a country like Cuba...where a person is not allowed to use their God given talents. guess there are some who thing it should be government given talents. God Bless Dr.Carson...He has used all the talents God has given him..thats what this country use to be about.

I loved, loved, loved his speech--stayed late at work to finish watching it!
Days later, what I´m left with is a deep sorrow that there are not more young black men (and women) who found their way out of the slavery of social dependency.
Dr. Carson was blessed with a smart, strong-willed mother, willing to go against the culture of her community. I would like to clone her!!!
We are losing generation after generation of black children. How is this not as horrible as slavery? Both are a shameful blot on my beloved country.

It is likely the president did not listen to anything Dr. Carson said. Obama knew who Benjamin Carson is before he spoke. The legacy media ignored what Carson said, and the Dems are mostly there for show. So the caring Democrats most likely either failed to listen, or they were trying to figure out how to make sure noting Carson said would be put into practice.

I posted this in another forum and a UVA student countered with #17´s BB complaint. So I said, "it´s the same mentality whereby Obama controls/forces reproductive rights on Catholics. Birth control is not healthcare.
Look at how Obama claps up until around before 13 0. Once the Dr brings up attorneys, by hook or by crook at 12:5+, Obama does not clap anymore. Michelle and Gates do clap. Then the slow to catch on Michelle and Gates stop clapping altogether for a while and they are all the happy three stooges in unity. This is a great example of bo´s ego as in immense.
Watch Obama´s darty eye movement down and then back up as the Dr navigates sore points to the socialist: dumbing down; the ignorant /unedcuated are taken advantage of; the smart people are mocked and hide, the eagle flys on two wings but flounders(like a WWII fighter with a wing shot off) with only one party/wing. Ooh la la. ha ha. That flies in the face of Obama´s modus like a whip-crack. Boom! Take that Obama.

His mother worked three jobs as a domestic because she didn´t want to go on WELFARE.
My mother did as well. She was ashamed to go on WELFARE. The first six months WE were in America she took ADC (Aid to Dependent Children) -- but -- got off because she didn´t want charity. She scrubbed floors and cleaned doctor´s instruments at night to pay our bills....
She eventually got a job at National Tea Company a food store company -- a lot like Jewel here in Chicago -- and became the paymaster because of her math skills. She always said -- "one day at a time -- one step at a time"......
So -- my friends -- WE will overcome this block/head in the White House -- working one day at a time and taking one step at a time......

I just finished watching this beautiful speech by Dr Carson. God continues to send His faithful servants to speak truth to power/evil. I watched both Obama and Micelle during this speech because of comments made by previous posters. Obama was his usual ungracious self. He can´t stand for anyone else to be the focus of attention. At one point I thought I saw him five the middle finger salute. On the other hand I thought Micelle came across a gracious even though the words hopefully hit home and wounded. She seemed to clap when everyone else did, when appropriate. Who knows maybe she wanted to annoy The Won for some misdeed, but I thought her behavior was better than I have ever noted before, especially when compared to the evil one.

You Better Think Hard On This
Hitler sacrificed over 6,000,000 souls to help power the occult nature of his Quest.
The American Left has sacrificed well past 50,000,000 of the most innocent on their altar of ideas.
As Hitler did, the life force sacrificed on that altar is offered to a god you and I do not know. But they do. Think hard on this, because ritual evil is very very real and is always something so mundane and everyday it is difficult for most to comprehend.

@#16: Libs don`t need a reason to be outraged or offended. Even `they` know the truth when they hear it. We all know every speech Barack makes is a political statement.
It`s ironic how Bush 41 was castigated for looking at his watch during a live presidential debate against Clinton in 1992, yet Obama can readily check his Blackberry with CrapMedia impunity. However, Barack`s minor transgression during such an important event is justified since, as president, he has the weight of the world on his skinny shoulders, that is except when American ambassador`s lives are at stake overseas.

You give of yourself and your talents in the most stressfilled moments imaginable with families depending on you to save lives. No hiding your credentials. No pretending to be something you are not. Maybe Dr. Carson is our hoped-for Moses to lead us out of Pharaoh Obama´s form of captivity. The Moses analogy, however, doesn´t exactly fit. Dr. Carson doesn´t have a speech problem as Moses did. He speaks quite well by himself, and he doesn´t need a brother Aaron to speak for him.
Instead of a Moses, perhaps Dr. Carson is our Joshua, and will lead us into the promised land as our Founding Fathers invisioned. America is currently in the "wilderness" (the last four years seem like forty years). In Obama´s America I see a similarity to the story of Moses and the Israelites in the wilderness.
In the Moses story, God commanded that his people not worship idols; yet when Moses was gone for 40 days(receiving the Ten Commandments) the people got worried. They feared that Moses was dead, and so they convinced Aaron (Moses´ brother and 2nd in command) that they needed an idol.
Moses´ brother Aaron helped them create a golden calf made from the gold that they melted down to form an idol. We have become like those people - we have turned away from the One True God and we worship false gods - sports stars, movie stars, and politicians who tell us lies.
Instead of holding the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, documents inspired by God, as profound (I´d love to say sacred but that would be misinterpreted) to be our guiding principles we are replacing them with Executive Orders, mega pages of laws that are impossible and convoluted, and edicts.
IMHO the Supreme Court and the Congress have become an Aaron. I could go on but the word limit won´t let me. Just think about it.

Dr. Carson is a good man, a patriot and a leader. Being in the company of zippy did not deter him because he is grounded in Godly principles. Think David against the Goliath of big government. He verbally slew him! I did think of Beck´s idea of another George Washington, too. People like Rush, Sean and Mark must continue to hold up this man. Share his video with your friends.

They have nothing to attack. Bob Beckel on the Five went into full rant about the inappropriateness of the talk at the Prayer Breakfast. As for the message, not a word.

Take care! Obama, the Benghazi Bolshevik, was also perceived as a savior. How did that turn out? A healthy skepticism is the contraceptive of the fertile mind.

I saw Beckel´s rant on The Five and thought these "progressives" are always telling us that God doesn´t matter, or there is not God, or some such nonsense. So, why was he all upset about Dr. Carson´s speech at a prayer breakfast? Don´t these prayer breakfasts cater to people that don´t believe in science, gun totin´, bible thumpin´ hicks? So Bobby boy, why would you care? No, they are going to have to destroy Dr. Carson because as Rush always says, they always let us know who they are afraid of by their actions.
Also, Dr. Carson is not an affirmative action doctor. Look at the difference between him and Zero, who is an affirmative action president. Carson has real experience and successes in his life. Zero? Not even a published term paper from high school, college or as Harvard Law Review president. Nada.
BTW, just looked up Senator Ted Cruz´s bio on the ´net. You read what that man has accomplished, his academic awards, the cases he has been involved in, his background and you realize what an absolute fraud Zero is.

As whistleblowers came forward on Capitol Hill regarding the potential cover-up surrounding the Benghazi, Libya terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2012, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney insisted the investigation was “politicized” and “non-substantive.” But he refrained from questioning the congressional witnesses making allegations that the administration has been dismissing. A reporter asked Carney at today’s briefing, “Do you question their motivation?” Carney said, “I don’t. I’m simply saying there has been an ongoing effort to politicize this. But beyond that,

On Wednesday, the Associated Press mischaracterized the Benghazi hearings as merely a Republican event, even though it is an official House committee investigation. In the headline of its report, the Associated Press downplayed the official hearings of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee--that has both Democrats and Republicans on it--into the failures surrounding the 2012 attacks on our embassy personnel in Benghazi, Libya. The AP characterized the official hearings as "GOP hearings," making the proceedings seem like a mere political witch-hunt.

The party that swept into power on promises of transparency and accountability scrambled Wednesday to circle wagons in an extravagant attempt to protect administration officials, the White House and the woman many Democrats hope will be their next nominee for president. Congressional Democrats strenuously tried covering up the inquiry into the botched handling and dishonest aftermath of the terrorist attack on a U.S. facility in Benghazi that left dead our ambassador to Libya and three other Americans.

First lady Michelle Obama on Wednesday said New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) suffers from adulthood obesity and is an example of why her "Let’s Move" campaign is such an important initiative. Speaking Wednesday on the "Today" show, the first lady was asked to comment on reports that Christie secretly underwent a medical operation in February to help him lose weight. "The one thing I will say is that there are millions of people like the governor who struggle with adulthood obesity, and that’s one of the reasons why ´Let’s Move´ is so important,” she said.

Ahead of the Benghazi hearings in which three witnesses are set to testify before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade invited Fox News analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters to discuss the issue. Peters was unflinching in his criticism of the “cowardly” Obama administration — and the “establishment media” that aids it. “Is this a national security coverup?” Kilmeade asking, explaining that the witness testimony is expected to say the administration was deceitful in its handling of the situation. “The administration, facing the election, went into panic mode, wanted to contain it,”

For a good idea of how anxious Obamacare supporters are about the law´s rollout, read former White House health adviser Ezekiel Emanuel´s op-ed in The Wall Street Journal this morning: Transforming the U.S. health-care system—which is larger than the economy of France—is one of the most daunting administrative tasks government has ever confronted. There will be bumps in the road; this is inevitable. Setting up the exchanges will pose a host of technological challenges, such as digitally linking an individual´s IRS information (which determines a subsidy level) to the insurance offerings in the individual´s home area

Laugh if you must but it’s no goofier than the idea that “due process” implies a substantive right to kill a baby in the womb but not five minutes later, after it’s emerged. Bsides, Jackson Lee’s been consistent on this. Back in January 2011, right after the new Republican House majority was sworn in, she started arguing that repealing O-Care would amount to a deprivation of due process under the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments. There’s a certain ruthless logic in her reaching for the Constitution right after the Democrats’ hold on power began to slip in

Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. was the deadline for members of the Senate Judiciary Committee to propose amendments to the Gang of Eight comprehensive immigration reform bill. There were a lot of amendments. Sen. Charles Grassley, ranking Republican on the committee, proposed 77. Fellow Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions, perhaps the leading opponent of the bill on the committee, proposed 49. Sen. Orrin Hatch proposed 24. Sen. Mike Lee proposed 23. Altogether, Republicans proposed 194 amendments, while Democrats proposed 106, for a total of 300. Reading all the amendments will take some time,

What good is a background check that doesn’t actually penalize criminals? Like the rest of Amnesty 2013, it exists only to aid the Democratic Party’s culture of criminality. Their concern is with a clause that would, during the background check process, prohibit immigration officials from forwarding criminal histories to law enforcement for deportation purposes. “The idea is we are supposed to be weeding out the bad apples,” said Steven Camarota, of the Center for Immigration Studies. “But the big problem with the bill is it does not require those denied the amnesty to leave the country.

An alarming feature of our current sociocultural world is the striking frequency of conversions to Islam across the entire gamut of Western private and public life: prisoners converting to the religion of peace in record numbers; women who crave the emotional comfort and feeling of security that donning the hijab or the niqab purportedly confers; disaffected youth who find purpose and meaning in attending the mosque, often becoming radicalized in the process; African-Americans reacting against Christianity as the white man’s religion and who “associate conversion

When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism. It turns out, however, that the State Department was the prime culprit. It was State that pushed back hard against the original talking points.

Republican lawmakers, who have spent months seeking to tie President Obama to last year’s deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, are increasingly focusing their probe on a new target: former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton. The GOP-led investigation of the Sept. 11, 2012, assaults that killed U.S. Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three others now centers heavily on the State Department and whether officials there deliberately misled the public about the nature of the assault. Three State Department officials are scheduled to testify before a House committee on Wednesday about the Benghazi attack and its aftermath.

The Seattle Police Department collected more than 700 guns during a buyback in January, and now city officials have a plan for what to do with them. Mayor Mike McGinn is expected to announce Tuesday that they´ll be melted into bricks carrying messages of peace, and the bricks will be placed around the city. The buyback program was announced a month after last December´s elementary school massacre in Newtown, Conn., by city leaders sick of hearing about gun violence. Former Gov. Mark Sanford completed the trail to political redemption Tuesday with a win over Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to reclaim his old seat in Congress. Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. Turnout was heavier than expected, with about 32 percent of the district’s 455,702 registered voters casting ballots. Sanford, who has never lost an election, returns to the 1st District seat he held for three terms from 1995-2001. It’s a remarkable comeback for a man many pundits had written off after his highly publicized affair with an Argentine

There was tragic incompetence, plainly, in the Obama administration’s handling of the Benghazi attacks, and even possibly some political calculation. It is a record that may well come to haunt Hillary Clinton, the first Secretary of State to lose an ambassador in the field in more than three decades, if she runs for president in 2016. But the obvious Republican effort to turn this inquiry into the Democratic (Obama) version of the Iraq intelligence scandal that has tarred the GOP since the George W. Bush years -- led by that least-credible of champions, the almost-always-wrong Darrell Issa --

Mark Sanford has won the South Carolina special election in a competitive race for what in normal circumstances is a safe Republican seat. The former governor beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert Busch, for the state’s 1st congressional district. The AP called the race for Sanford early in the evening, with the Republican leading Colbert Busch 54 percent 46 percent.
