Exclusive: Illegal Immigrant to
Testify in Senate Next Week--With
ICE Agent Who Cannot Arrest Him

Breitbart News, by Staff

Original Article

Posted By:Desert Fox, 2/8/2013 5:22:52 PM

Breitbart News has learned that one of the witnesses at the Senate Judiciary Committee hearings on immigration next week will be outspoken illegal immigrant Jose Antonio Vargas--who will be seated at the same table as Chris Crane, leader of the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement employees’ union that is suing the government over Obama administration rules that make it very difficult for ICE agents to arrest illegal immigrants. Vargas, who works as a journalist, arrived in the U.S. from the Philippines at the age of 12, but is not eligible for the administration’s new guidelines because of his age.

Conservative activist O´Keefe
claims Cuomo targeting his group

Conservative activist James O´Keefe is accusing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo´s administration of targeting his group with document requests and a subpoena, claiming the Democratic governor´s recent comments critical of conservatives "aren´t simply words." O´Keefe, whose Project Veritas is behind a series of hidden-camera investigations against left-leaning groups and causes, made the claims on the heels of the controversy over a recent Cuomo interview. In it, Cuomo blasted "extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay" and said they "have no place" in New York. He later walked back his remarks, and said they were being taken out of context in the

Dinesh D´Souza, a conservative commentator and best-selling author, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for arranging excessive campaign contributions to a candidate for the U.S. Senate. According to an indictment made public on Thursday in federal court in Manhattan, D´Souza around August 2012 reimbursed people who he had directed to contribute $20,000 to the candidate´s campaign. The candidate was not named in the indictment. Attempts to reach D´Souza and a lawyer representing him were unsuccessful. D´Souza was charged in the indictment with one count of making illegal contributions in the names of others, and one count of causing

Artifice: Ever-smiling President Hassan Rouhani´s new Iran seeks American tourism and backs democracy in Syria, but claims it conceded nothing in its nuclear agreement. Call it the "humor of mass destruction." With apologies to funnyman Mel Brooks, whose movie "The Producers" somehow made it possible to laugh about the Nazis, it´s now "Springtime for Rouhani and Iran," as "Persia´s a fine land once more!" The new PR-savvy president of Tehran´s soon-to-be-nuclear-armed Islamofascist regime has dazzled elites — from European prime ministers to Google and Pepsi executives to movie stars like Matt Damon and rock stars like Bono — gathered at the Davos

If there is anything New York doesn´t need it´s more reasons for Empire State residents to flee. Over the last decade (2001-11) New York´s population fell by 1.6 million. Many disgruntled New Yorkers said enough, packed up and left the state. This was a larger population drain than suffered by any other state. Congratulations. That´s why Democratic Gov. Andrew Cuomo´s declaration that "extreme conservatives ... have no place in the state of New York" was so dumbfounding. Is it just me or does it seem like only yesterday that "progressives" like Mr. Cuomo were lecturing us about embracing "diversity"? As they say in

Environment: California is enduring a historic drought. Naturally some are blaming it on man-made global warming. Are they right? Probably not. This isn´t the first time the Golden State has gone dry. California was parched, drained and dehydrated in 2013. Los Angeles, which averages almost 15 inches of rain a year, had less than 4 inches. Farther north, San Francisco went through its driest days since 1849, the Gold Rush year that record-keeping began, with less than 4 inches of rain falling. It usually gets more than 20. San Jose, San Diego and Sacramento all received far less rainfall than they typically

Politics: Republican Party leaders seem willing, anxious even, to walk away from the Tea Party, certain that such bedrock support will brand the GOP as extremist in voters´ eyes. If anything, polls show, the opposite is true. With 10 months to go before the crucial midterm elections, Republicans understandably will try to avoid screwing up their chances for victory. Democrats have taken to vilifying any Republican who actually stands for something — such as Texas Sen. Ted Cruz — as a captive of what they´d like to label as the far-right fringe. This can be seen in the efforts of Sen. Charles Schumer of New York — the Democrats' top

The whole ratings system is too volatile -- and if you live by it, you can die by it. Everybody´s ratings, depending on when you take the snapshot, are gonna go up and down, and sometimes they´re gonna fluctuate greatly. But CNN now has had enough steady erosion here that it oughta be panic time. Listen to this: "CNN´s Neilson ratings for the key important demographic which remains 25-54..."

But if the story is a full account of the Rev. While the administration publicly expresses full confidence in its health care law, privately it fears one part of the system is so flawed it could bankrupt insurance companies and cripple ObamaCare itself. To justify a no-bid contract with Accenture after firing CGI as the lead contractor, the administration released documents from the Department of Health and Human Services and the Center

The Pentagon on Wednesday is expected to announce widespread changes to rules governing religious items and religion-based physical attributes that service members can maintain while in uniform — including beards, some religious tattoos, and turbans. NBC News obtained an early draft of the new Department of Defense instruction which states that the military will make every effort to accommodate “individual expressions of sincerely held beliefs” (conscience, moral principles, or religious beliefs) of service members. It goes on to say that unless doing so could have an adverse impact on military readiness, unit cohesion, good order and discipline, health and safety,

In politics, lying is the new sex. Even the lesser sin, exaggeration, is grounds for questions about your suitability to run for office. Americans may be becoming more like the French in tolerating peccadilloes (just ask Rep. Mark Sanford of South Carolina or Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana about surviving a sex scandal), but get a detail wrong about whether you divorced at 21 or at 19, and woe unto you. That’s what happened to Wendy Davis over the weekend. You may know her as the Texas state senator in pink sneakers who delivered an 11-hour filibuster against abortion restrictions in June.

What’s so great about Zulu? To answer that question properly, you need to pass this test first. 1) Do you know Men of Harlech off by heart? 2) Can you name at least half of the 11 Victoria Cross winners in the film (by their nicknames where possible) without resorting to Google? 3) Have you ever found yourself stirred to ridiculous feelings of patriotism by John Barry’s magnificent film score on the morning commute? I really hope someone else answers “yes” to all three, otherwise you can chalk me up as a lone madman. Zulu--released 50 years ago this week--is

A clear majority of the American people say that the Obama administration is not competent to manage the affairs of the U.S. government, according to a Quinnipiac poll released Wednesday. Those who believe the Obama administration is incompetent weigh in at a clip of 53-42 – a margin of 11 points. In addition, more people believe that the president is not even paying attention to what’s going on than the contrary: 47-45. (That may be because the president finds out about all those “phony scandals” by reading about them in the news.) The president gets a negative score on a

The bare-bones Wendy Davis story — the one without embellishment — is sufficiently inspiring as a matrix for defying expectations. The daughter of a teenage mother and a teenage mother herself, Davis managed to beat the odds by getting a college education and Ivy League law degree, then launching a political career that’s brought her national adulation. But since Davis’ Democratic gubernatorial ambitions caught fire last year, “facts have been blurred” in the retelling of her life’s story, as reported Sunday by this newspaper’s senior political writer, Wayne Slater.

TOPEKA — A man who provided sperm to a lesbian couple in response to an online ad is the father of a child born to one of the women and must pay child support, a Kansas judge ruled Wednesday. Topeka resident William Marotta had argued that he had waived his parental rights and didn’t intend to be a father. Shawnee County District Judge Mary Mattivi rejected that claim, saying the parties didn’t involve a licensed physician in the artificial insemination process and thus Marotta didn’t qualify as a sperm donor, The Topeka Capital-Journal reported.
