| WE NOW know that President Obama’s national security team overwhelmingly supported providing arms to the rebels in Syria. On Thursday, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta told a Senate committee that he and Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, backed a plan that would have vetted, trained and armed selected opposition groups, which have been pleading for such U.S. support for more than a year. According to the New York Times, the strategy was developed by former CIA director David H. Petraeus and supported by former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton.

I agree. No arms to the rebels. I believe that Al Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood are leading the rebels. If Assad goes, Syrian Christians , and other minority religious believers will be slaughtered a la Iraq.

So why did he say "Assad has to go?
I think he did not send help to the rebels because Russia asked him not to. His intentions seemed different at the beginning than they do now.I don´t think he deserves any credit for good intentions.

...I think it would be a mistake to think that Barry made the call on this one. The call probably did come from the White House, but was made by the infamous ValJer, and probably was with the election in mind...
...as we learned today about Benghazi, Barry really can´t be bothered with important matters. Between catching important games on ESPN and sleeping in, he just doesn´t have the mental acuity for the job...
...and now that his lead speech writer is heading off to Hollywood, his skills as an orator will diminish as well...

If Obama blocked this plan it wasn´t done out of common sense or logic,it was done because Syria is friends of Iran and Russia and Obama is scared of both countries and doesn´t want an open confrontation.
Maybe the whole thing is a lie to make it look like they really care about Syrians being killed.
Maybe this is a lie to cover up the failed attempt of Am Stevens secret arms running?
Stevens was specifically killed for a reason. Maybe it´s because dead men tell no tales.

Pro golfers, golf writers, and TV commentators are up in arms that Tiger Woods was only given a 2-stroke penalty for his illegal drop on the 15th hole yesterday. Tiger said last night that he dropped his ball two yards behind his previous spot, clearly violating the rule that you must drop "as nearly as possible" to your original spot. Golf people are not happy about it. They say that the new rule is B.S. (or it´s at least being misinterpreted), and Tiger should DQ himself to save the integrity of the game.

In the 2014 budget he announced last week, Obama proposed a more accurate way of calculating the inflation rate for annual cost-of-living increases in Social Security. It’s a technical change in pursuit of honesty and good government. And if adopted, it would cause benefits to grow more slowly, though almost imperceptibly so.
