WASHINGTON – Caroline Kennedy is the "leading contender" on the short list of candidates President Obama is considering to be the next ambassador to Canada, a senior Democratic official tells Fox News. Kennedy, the daughter of the late President Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, has been a strong political and financial supporter of Obama. The confirmation that she´s being strongly considered comes as the Canadian press is abuzz about the possible picks. Canadian newspapers have been floating other possible candidates to the spot in the past few weeks. Among those rumored to be on the list: Former Washington governor

Caroline, to get to Canada, simply head West first, then turn North.

There you go, she´ll never find it now........

And the country is covered up with career int´l relations people, smart geography and international studies professors, and experienced business men and we end up be represented by some ditzy tootsie because she´s named Kennedy. If we don´t raise hell about this, we are causing this country´s death-spiral.

Rounding out her resume, grooming her for bigger things, I see.

I think that even an inexperienced incompetent nitwit like Kennedy would have a hard time screwing up this post. Not exactly like ambassador to China.
Hopefully she won´t start a trade war, or launch a Bay of Fundy invasion, like her dad´s Bay of Pigs.
Maybe she´ll learn to say "Eh?" instead of "ugh".

Paterson dissed the prezzie, and appointed Kirsten Gillibrand, the chameleon democrat. President Hologram then undercut Paterson,

Paul Ryan was right — poverty is

Washington Post, by George F. Will    Original Article

Critics of Rep. Paul Ryan’s remarks about cultural factors in the persistence of poverty are simultaneously shrill and boring. Their predictable minuet of synthetic indignation demonstrates how little liberals have learned about poverty or changed their rhetorical repertoire in the last 49 years. Ryan spoke of a “tailspin of culture, in our inner cities in particular, of men not working and just generations of men not even thinking about working or learning the value and the culture of work,” adding: “There’s a real culture problem here.” This brought down upon Ryan the usual acid rain of accusations — racism, blaming

First lady Michelle Obama told a group of Chinese students Saturday that free speech is a universal right that makes countries stronger. Nations are “stronger and more prosperous” when people’s opinions are heard," Obama said during her trip to China, which employs some of the strictest limits on the Internet. “We respect the uniqueness of other cultures and societies, but when it comes to expressing yourself freely and worshipping as you choose and having open access to information, we believe those universal rights — they are universal rights that are the birthright of every person on this planet,” she said

President Obama delivered his weekly address this morning, following up on the themes of last week´s: namely, pressuring Congress to raise the minimum wage. This week, however, the president insisted that the minimum wage was a women´s rights issue, because "women hold most lower-wage jobs in America." The president began his statements by repeating one of the more prominent talking points of the Obama administration since this year´s State of the Union address: "A woman deserves to earn equal pay for equal work." The president insisted that it was necessary for Congress to "act on these priorities" for women, but

Could the U.S. Face a Cruise Missile
Threat from the Gulf of Mexico?

The United States is puzzling over how to block cruise missiles that theoretically could be launched from the Gulf of Mexico, even after throwing some of its most advanced technologies at the problem. Russia and Iran have been cited as possible threats that might, at some point, lurk in the waters just off U.S. shores. A 2013 military exercise pitted systems such as Patriot interceptors, Aegis warships and combat aircraft against potential cruise-missile or short-range ballistic missiles fired from the Gulf. But the drill highlighted a particular vulnerability to cruise missiles lobbed from that region, U.S. Northern Command head Gen.

"I just shot an elephant in my pajamas," goes the old Groucho Marx joke. "How he got in my pajamas I don´t know." You´ve probably heard that one before, or something similar. For example, while viewing polling data for the 2008 presidential election on Comedy Central, Stephen Colbert deadpanned, "If I´m reading this graph correctly…I´d be very surprised." Zingers like these aren´t just good lines. They reveal something unusual about how the mind operates—and they show us how humor works. Simply put, the brain likes to jump the gun. Hinderaker´s debunking of the article, an exercise in anti-Koch Brothers propaganda, is a thing of beauty... not least because he only needed a few minutes on the Internet to prove the central claims of the story false, namely that the Kochs are allegedly the biggest leaseholders in Canadian oil sands, and are therefore a sinister power behind the drive to build the Keystone XL pipeline. In reaction to a $3 million ad buy in Colorado, North Carolina, Arkansas, Michigan and Louisiana by Senate Majority PAC, a spokesman for Koch Industries accused the group of “negative cynical, divisive, and dishonest attacks” against Charles and David Koch. The big spending by the Democratic group “is the latest round in a series of attacks and attempts to silence private citizens who dare to disagree with the policies of the Majority Leader and the current administration,”

A week before a self-imposed deadline for a review of National Security Agency programs, President Barack Obama sought Friday to assure leading Internet and tech executives that his administration is committed to protecting people´s privacy. CEOs from Facebook, Google, Netflix and others spent more than two hours with Obama in the Oval Office discussing their concerns about NSA spying programs, which have drawn outrage from tech companies whose data have been scooped up by the government. Joining Obama and the CEOs were Obama´s commerce secretary, homeland security adviser, and counselor John Podesta, whom Obama has tasked with leading a review

WASHINGTON— Mayor Vincent Gray often calls the District of Columbia "the envy of the nation" for its robust economy and fast-growing population, but some say the local government he leads — plagued by corruption, pay-to-play politics and disengaged voters — is a stain on the city´s progress. The latest bruise to the city´s reputation involves Gray, who is under federal investigation. Prosecutors say he knew about a $668,000 campaign slush fund that helped him get elected in 2010, and while Gray has not been charged, five people involved with his campaign have been convicted. Separately, three former members of the

*´barking at the staff´ Michelle Obama and three of her family members are staying in a $8,350-per-night Beijing presidential suite, but despite a 24-hour butler and other perks that come with the lodging, her entourage has inconvenienced ´pretty much everyone´ and made the hotel staff ´fed up,´ a well-placed hotel staffer has told MailOnline. Jimmy Carter has been very active in the decades since his presidency, and his successors have occasionally called for his advice. Except, it turns out, the current occupant of the office. A clip from Carter’s upcoming Meet the Press interview reveals that President Obama is the first president since Carter left office not to solicit the Southern Democrat’s advice. Carter explained, “President Clinton did and President George W. Bush and H.W. Bush and even Ronald Reagan used to call on us to go into sensitive areas.” They all asked Carter to deal with “unsavory characters,” but Obama hasn’t reached out to

Is Barack Obama simply too busy to be Chief Executive of the United States? Apparently. One of the primary functions of the president is to keep the nation safe, to preserve it from its enemies. To do that effectively, one would actually have to maintain something of a consistent level of attention to the moving pieces that directly influence how future events will unfold. None other than the truly sycophantic thinks for a second that President Obama cares a whit for anything that does not involve fundamentally altering the social composition of this country. Or golf. During the five-plus years

A Washington Post story purporting to expose the Koch brothers as behind-the-scenes beneficiaries of the Keystone Pipeline has been exposed as an utterly false propaganda operation, hilariously wrong and politically malicious. Even worse, one of the writers behind the story is married to a political operative in the left wing Koch-demonization machine. The Washington Post was recently purchased by Jeff Bezos of Amazon, who ought to take a hard look at the reporters and editors who collaborated with the left wing smear machine, and while he is at it, should send a note of thanks to John Hinderaker, the blogger

In a speech Friday, Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush praised illegal immigrants as "risk takers" who embody the entrepreneurial spirit of America and doubled down on his defense of Common Core. According to the Miami-Herald, Bush made his remarks in front of business leaders in Florida. “People who come here legally and illegally are the risk takers,” Bush reportedly said. “If you’re living in a rural area of Guatemala and you come, you’re a bigger risk taker than those who stay,” he added. Of course, the first action of those who come to the country illegally is breaking the law. Bush also said he

Here’s a question I’ll bet nobody ever asked Jay Carney at a White House press briefing: Why does Michelle Obama’s mother live at the White House at taxpayer expense? (If someone has asked, please send link for me to stand corrected.) Now that Michelle Obama’s mother has caused a disruption on the latest exotic vacation for the first lady, perhaps it is time for some answers about why Marian Robinson is even on the trip to China. Worse, why is she appearing in official photographs with Chinese officials? Drudge is reporting in big bold lead letters that Marian Robinson is barking

Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The racial disparities in American education, from access to high-level classes and experienced teachers to discipline, were highlighted in a report released Friday by the Education Department´s civil rights arm. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said. Six percent of the nation´s districts with preschools reported suspending at

During her visit to China, first lady Michelle Obama pointed out that the ability to travel outside of the United States was "rare" but that she chose China for a reason. "It’s very rare that I have the opportunity to travel outside of the United States, and it’s even more rare to have the opportunity to travel with three generations — with my daughters, and with my mother," she said. "And it is no accident that one of our first trips as a family is here to China." Obama made her remarks while visiting a school in Beijing, with the Chinese first

College basketball can wait. Did you know that March is actually National Nutrition Month? Today, First Lady Michelle Obama urged Americans via her "Let´s Move!" initiative to challenge their family members to eat one new fruit or vegetable per week in March to faithfully observe the occasion. "March is National Nutrition Month and you can celebrate by challenging your family to try a new fruit or vegetable each week," First Lady Michelle Obama said in an e-mail to supporters today. Never mind that there were less than two "each weeks" left in National Nutrition Month when the e-mail challenge was

Today’s Washington Post features an article by Steven Mufson and Juliet Eilperin headlined, “The biggest lease holder in Canada’s oil sands isn’t Exxon Mobil or Chevron. It’s the Koch brothers.” The article was based on a newly-issued two-page report by the far-left International Forum on Globalization. The Post reported: You might expect the biggest lease owner in Canada’s oil sands, or tar sands, to be one of the international oil giants, like Exxon Mobil or Royal Dutch Shell. But that isn’t the case. The biggest lease holder in the northern Alberta oil sands is a subsidiary of Koch Industries, the privately-owned

President Obama took the opportunity to flatter House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi during a fundraiser Thursday for House Democrats at the Florida home of former NBA star Alonzo Mourning. Obama said the California Democrat "will go down in history as one of the greatest speakers in our history" and indicated that he was eager to return her to her former position as Speaker of the House. "She is as tough and principled and as visionary as any member of Congress that we´ve ever seen and I´m grateful to call her a friend," he added. The fundraiser — the first of six Obama has

W hen news broke that respected fashion designer L´Wren Scott had passed away on Monday, The New York Times noted her suicide with the regrettable headline "Mick Jagger´s Girlfriend Found Dead." The Times wasn´t alone in its faux pas; the Associated Press dutifully tweeted, "BREAKING: Law enforcement: Mick Jagger´ [sic] girlfriend, L´Wren Scott, found dead in NYC of possible suicide." Though the AP managed to slip Scott´s name in the headline of the report, both news organizations seemed to agree: Scott´s death was newsworthy only because of her romantic association with a legendary rock and roller.
