| Singer Tony Bennett brought up Nazi Germany at a press conference in Washington where he demanded gun control. TONY BENNETT: It´s the kind of turn that happened to the great country of Germany, when Nazis came over and created tragic things, and they had to be told off. And if we continue this kind of violence and accept it in our country, the rest of the world´s going to really take care of us, in a very bad way.

I´m not too worried about Tony Bennett or any other liberal when it comes to gun control. For once I do believe that the citizens will not be suckered into the diminution of freedoms as in the past. The Tea Parties have been a way for people to effectively influence goobernment. And the effort by socialist/fascist to further restrict our freedoms will now be met with a grass roots resistance. All the celebrities and fancy entertainers’ opinions in the world will not change the desire of the many to have their freedoms restored and protected. And it is up to us to protect our freedoms from control freak goobernment officials and ‘do-gooder’ liberals.

He was on Wolf Blitzer´s show and said this outrageous statement while using his WWII experience as cover. Wolf kept bringing up that he fought in WWII as if that allows Tony to bash the USA as much as he wants. Meanwhile Tony´s son sat there and declared himself a ´Pacifist´, or as I call them ´Weaklings´.

So many years of experience, so little knowledge. The Nazis were some of the biggest proponents of gun control. So were slave owners in the south. It is easy to control or kill people if they don´t have the means to fight back.

Correction: With Gun Control, U.S. Will Turn Into Nazi Germany
I´m convinced that the feds are preparing for conflict with the US citizens.
Why does Homeland Security need 3,000,000,000 (3 billion) hollow point bullets?
Why does the IRS need 1,000 pump action shotguns?
Why do the feds need 8,000 AR-15s?
Why does zippy say we need a civilian police force equal to the US military?
Think about it and lock n load.

These comments make absolutely no sense to me. Tony Bennett has his history wrong - and he is also very mixed up in his thinking. The rest of the world is "really going to take care of us," which seems to mean attack and subjugate us, unless we "show them how to behave" by imposing more gun control? What kind of sense does THAT make? None that I can tell.
I am afraid that his heart is not the only organ Tony Bennett left in San Francisco. He may indeed be manifesting signs of early dementia as some have suggested. The spectacle is more sad than anger inspiring. He really did not need to jump into this controversy. I suspect he is being used.

More liberal hyperbole. You know, I´ve got a great idea. Instead of burying our head in the sand let´s enforce our laws. A tactical squad marching shoulder to shoulder into Chicago on Saturday night would be a start. They could put a facsimile of George Washington out in front to draw their fire.

However, with gun control, U.S. will definitely turn into the United Soviet Socialist States of Amerikkka...

What makes anybody think that an entertainer with, absolutely no qualifications to speak on the subject other than his drug and alcohol induced opinion, should be regarded as a source of rational thought on gun control. Yet, the mainstream media will trot out senile, old brain dead fools, and yes, younger brain dead fools ...... Bruce Springsteen and Barbara Streisand come to mind, and expect us to be influenced by their incoherent mutterings. Sadly, however, it seems to do just that to many. Especially to other brain dead humanoids like the morons who voted for Obamaomao.

DENVER — Because of a paperwork error, the suspect in last month´s killing of Colorado´s corrections chief was freed from prison in January — four years earlier than authorities intended. Judicial officials acknowledged Monday that Evan Spencer Ebel´s previous felony conviction had been inaccurately recorded and his release was a mistake. In 2008, Ebel pleaded guilty in rural Fremont County to assaulting a prison officer. In the plea deal, Ebel was to be sentenced to up to four additional years in prison, to be served after he completed the eight-year sentence that put him behind bars in 2005, according to a statement from Colorado's 11th Judicial District.

JOHANNESBURG — Reeva Steenkamp, the model and law graduate shot and killed by Oscar Pistorius, was statistically just one of three women killed on Valentine´s Day by an intimate partner, according to a study on violence against women that damns South Africa as having "the highest rate ever reported in research anywhere in the world." Steenkamp´s killing came the day before she planned to wear black in a "Black Friday" protest against the country´s excruciatingly high number of rapes, spurred by the particularly brutal gang-rape and mutilation of a 17-year-old that made front-page news in February.

MIAMI - A Florida judge has approved the adoption of a 22-month-old baby girl that will list three people as parents on her birth certificate -- a married lesbian couple and a gay man. The decision ends a two-year paternity fight between the couple and a friend of the women who donated his sperm to father the child but later sought a larger role in the girl´s life. The ruling means the child´s birth certificate will include a biological father and both women as parents in an unusual arrangement approved recently by a Miami-Dade Circuit Court judge. Cape Canaveral, Fla. - Earth-like worlds may be closer and more plentiful than anyone imagined. Astronomers reported Wednesday that the nearest Earth-like planet may be just 13 light-years away — or some 77 trillion miles. That planet hasn´t been found yet, but should be there based on the team´s study of red dwarf stars. Galactically speaking, that´s right next door. If our Milky Way galaxy were shrunk to the size of the United States, the distance between Earth and its closest Earth-like neighbor would be the span of New York's Central Park, said Harvard University graduate student

Regulars around the state Capitol will soon be seeing something different: Troopers carrying military-style assault rifles. The upgrade in firepower isn’t precisely incident specific – but you can hear echoes of Sandy Hook Elementary School in the explanation from Col. Mark McDonough, commissioner of the state Department of Public Safety. We were outside the Senate chamber, and McDonough pointed to the rotunda below us: “See all those children down there?” he asked. The Capitol is routinely filled with students on field trips this time of year. Officers once armed only with handguns

The new head of the state House Committee on Science and Technology is a social conservative who has used a moral compass to question scientific research, but who says he knows the importance biotechnology has on the state’s economy. Rep. Ed Setzler, R-Acworth, has previously led efforts to ban research on embryonic stem cells and sponsored a bill making it illegal to implant people with microchips against their will. Setzler, beginning his fifth term in the House, is also a frequent sponsor of bills to restrict abortions. The 42-year-old is an engineer and retired Army Ranger. Headline split by staff

Michelle Obama has admitted that she is already tired of the bangs she first sported in January. The First Lady said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight: ´Bangs are a day-by-day proposition. They´re starting to grow out, get a little irritating.´ Still, she hasn´t let her hairdo woes get her down. ´It´s okay,´ she said after her initial complaint. ´We´ll be good.´ The first indication that her hairstyle was becoming a burden came about last weekend, when Malia, 14, was spotted adjusting her mother´s hair during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

President Obama´s biggest gaffe yesterday when speaking of California Attorney General Kamala Harris was not in flirtatiously complimenting her as "the best-looking attorney general," but in introducing an observation from the system of beauty into a forum that was about the system of power. What´s that, you say? Irin Carmon does a great job in Salon in laying out the bounds of propriety for when it´s appropriate to talk about a woman´s looks as a general matter. But I´ve long felt we lack a solid theoretical underpinning for easily discussing these issues, and why precisely it is that

No one is more preoccupied these days with Hillary Clinton´s 2016 plans than the Beltway political class—not even the former presidential candidate herself. To hear some tell it, her decision will be dispositive for all other Democrats thinking of entering the race. And pundits and reporters aren´t the only ones positing the "The Hillary Factor": No less than the House Democratic whip, Steny Hoyer, told BuzzFeed, “I don´t know that anybody would run against Hillary…. If she runs, she clears the field.” It´s an understandable conclusion, given Clinton´s stature in the Democratic Party and her 70 percent

I hope all will look at a lifetime of service over some poorly chosen words.” Carson will remain as commencement speaker at Johns Hopkins,

On Friday, Sean Hannity brought Pat Smith, mother of the late Sean Smith, on his radio program. The 34-year-old information management officer was one of four Americans murdered in the Benghazi embassy attack on September 11, 2012. In the chilling interview, a distraught Ms. Smith, in tears, pleaded for answers and spoke of the efforts to silence her. Ms. Smith first relayed how her son, prior to the attack, requested additional security in advance and warned the State Department: He did tell them, ahead of time, he typed it into his little typewriter over there,

Put out an all-points bulletin: Millions of Americans have gone missing from the workforce. Every month that those would-be workers are gone raises the odds that they might never come back, dimming the prospects for future economic growth. The vanishing trend is more than a decade old, but it accelerated during the Great Recession. Throughout 2012, economists held out hope that it had stopped. But then came Friday’s jobs report, and hopes were dashed. The Labor Department reported that the U.S. labor force — everyone who has a job or is looking for one — shrank

The Obama White House is scrambling to blame Friday’s abysmal March jobs numbers on the sequester’s trimming of the rate of growth in federal budgets that have yet to fully commence. After the Labor Department announced that a mass exodus of 663,000 workers left the U.S. workforce last month and that job creation fell 112,000 jobs short of projections, Obama’s top economic adviser Alan B. Krueger, took to the White House blog to blame the sequester: It is important to bear in mind that the March household and payroll surveys are the first monthly surveys to look

Susan Patton, the Princeton alumna who became famous for her letter urging Ivy League women to use their college years to find a mate, has been denounced as a traitor to feminism, to coeducation, to the university ideal. But really she’s something much more interesting: a traitor to her class. Her betrayal consists of being gauche enough to acknowledge publicly a truth that everyone who’s come up through Ivy League culture knows intuitively —

Beyonce and Jay-Z celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in Cuba this week. The couple, who married on April 4, 2008, took in the sights of Old Havana, visited a school, dined on a rooftop terrace and strolled the fan-filled streets in their island best.(snip).The power couple declined to answer journalists´ questions about their visit to the island nation, but some outlets are reporting that the moguls are there as tourists, though that would be illegal because of the half-century embargo the U.S. has on the Communist country. However, the Miami Herald said Washington has issued special licenses for

The budget President Barack Obama will submit on April 10 will contain a proposal that would prohibit individuals from accumulating more than $3 million in Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) and tax-preferred retirement accounts. According to a White House statement, the Obama administration believes the current rules allow some wealthy individuals "to accumulate many millions of dollars in these accounts, substantially more than is needed to fund reasonable levels of retirement saving." "The budget would limit an individual’s total balance across tax-preferred accounts to an amount sufficient to finance an annuity of not more than $205,000 per
