Why Does the Media Go Easy on Barack Obama?

| Allegations of liberal media bias are almost constant in the conservative press, but their intensity has increased since President Obama and Hillary Clinton appeared together on 60 Minutes, where interviewer Steve Kroft posed "softball" questions that were almost comically obsequious. "Mr. Kroft, as embarrassing as his interview was, is merely symptomatic of a larger phenomenon: the unprecedented swooning and cheerleading by the press for Barack Obama," Peter Wehner wrote in Commentary, echoing an argument voiced by many on the right. He posits that the rise of conservative media outlets like Fox News may have triggered a liberal backlash.

Because they´re afraid of being cut off, or out, of any possible access, and leaked information.
If you don´t have sources, and can´t get access, then what good are you to your paper, or TV station?
So, they dutifully report what they´re told to report. They don´t investigate what they´re told not to investigate.

Why they refuse to do their job is really the only thing that´s debatable. My current take is our press is as low -info as Democrat voters AND they´re conceited. Big heads filled with fluffernutter. To steal a line from previous thread ´´not bringing the potato salad to the next Mensa picnic ´´.

“…the rise of conservative media outlets like Fox News…” Oh, yeah? If that were so, why is FNC chockablock with liberals? “Fair & Balanced” is not just some empty slogan. It’s substantiated by its vast cadre of outspoken Democrats, many of whom get plenty of screen and mic exposure several times per week. Contrast that with CNN and MSNBC. There is runaway political correctness underway in the national TV industry, and the TV media knows that they must give Obama a pass, or even risk their individual jobs.
The reason for that is Obama is a black man, and you can safely bet that there is no white man alive in America today, who when serving as President, would be lobbed the number of slow balls that the media has tossed at Obama.
That´s true for just about all the presentations shown on TV today to the general public. If you were to stay locked at home for any time period and continuously watched TV it would not be long from what you see on TV, that you would mistakenly think that black people make up a big majority of the population of this country, when in actuality they are only about 11% to 13%, and that black culture is the dominant social culture throughout the USA. That´s all because of political correctness.

Because they are fools, not journalists or reporters, and they no longer care about informing the public. One can understand that it was a memorable occasion for a minority member to become President, but at some point, his policies have to be more important than his color. The media have never caught up. and seemingly never will. Very distressing that highly paid media people do NOT do what they are paid to do, and that is QUESTION the Government´s policies. They can start with killing by drone.

Please see the testimony of Chris Rock. Why does Rock support Obama? Because he is Rock´s daddy, that´s why. We have a vast "culture" in this country which desires a Glorious Leader. One like Stalin or Mao. One like Hitler or Mussolini. They have found their GL in Zippy. So they bow down and worship him. Chris Matthews told us this four years ago. Zero reminds me of the potentates who had no need to walk on the ground; instead the peasants were required to lie on the ground so the ruler could step on their bodies. That is now called leadership. Gross. Disgusting. Regrettable. But factual.

One day in early February, I met Anthony Weiner and Huma Abedin for breakfast at the Gramercy Park Hotel, one of their regular joints, just a few blocks from their apartment on Park Avenue South. The first thing Weiner said when I sat down was that their 13-month-old son, Jordan, had just moments ago taken his first step. They were both giddy, kvelling with baby-pride, especially Weiner, who, with all his free time, has become his son’s primary caretaker. This is what life is like now for the man whose

It seems very odd that President Obama has made gun control the signature issue of his second term, so far. He can’t possibly achieve any significant legislation; a few tweaks to the background check system, maybe, but there is no chance of getting any meaningful gun control through the House. The House Democrats aren’t even trying. So it also seems strange that all eyes are on the Senate, where Harry Reid will unveil some sort of gun legislation–no one knows what, exactly–on Thursday. The party’s left-wing base is lining up behind the bill, sight unseen.

Decrying the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as way too complex, he warned the acting Medicare director that Obamacare is "so complicated and if it isn´t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse."

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md.--The Navy´s top officer unveiled new technology Monday that allows ships to shoot down drones or other vehicles for about the cost of a pack of gum. The USS Dewey tested an onboard laser weapons system in July 2012, in which it successfully shot down a test drone. Navy Adm. Jonathan Greenert, the chief of Naval Operations, screened video of the event while speaking at the Sea-Air-Space expo. The Laser Weapon System or LaWS only costs roughly $1 per shot and could be employed against fast attack ships or even be used in the future for missile defense.

A New York judge yesterday blasted federal “sequestration” cuts, calling it “stunning” that they could force him to delay the start of a terrorism trial for Osama bin Laden’s son-in-law. Manhattan federal Judge Lewis Kaplan appeared flabbergasted when a defense lawyer for Sulaiman Abu Ghaith said mandatory work furloughs would make it “very difficult to be ready” for trial by September. Kaplan began calling the situation “ironic” before noting that was “not exactly the right word.” “It’s extremely troublesome to contemplate the possibility of a case of this nature being delayed by sequestration,” Kaplan said.

Over the weekend, the Saddleback Valley Community Church announced the sad news that Pastor Rick Warren‘s youngest son, Matthew, committed suicide at the age of 27, after a long struggle with mental illness. On Monday, Megyn Kelly‘s panel took on some of the “despicable” reaction that followed — questioning why the pastor isn’t afforded basic compassion by some of his critics. Noting the “shocking” and “disgusting” vitriol directed at the pastor following the news, Kelly declined to “give a voice to the haters.” Father Jonathan Morris, a Fox News contributor, agreed, deeming the attacks “ridiculous,” “tasteless,” and simply “very sad.”

Bernard Anderson, a pathbreaking African-American economist, understands the importance of rhetoric. He was up front at the Lincoln Memorial when Martin Luther King Jr. gave his historic “I Have a Dream” speech in 1963. And he was in the audience on the Howard University campus in 1965 to hear President Johnson deliver a grim view of the state of black America and declare war on “past injustice and present prejudice.” So Anderson had high hopes as he sat at home in Pennsylvania watching President Obama deliver his second Inaugural Address this year.

Beginning a week of high pressure on gun control, the White House on Monday accused some Republican senators of cowardice for planning to filibuster gun legislation without allowing the full Senate to vote on President Obama’s initiatives. “If they oppose this legislation, have the courage to say so on the floor and vote no,” said White House press secretary Jay Carney. “Don’t block it. Don’t hide behind a procedural action to prevent a vote. That’s the wrong thing to do, and that’s how the president clearly feels.”

The sequester may have many across the country singing the blues, but for President Obama, it was all about Memphis Soul. Even with the threat of furloughs and government cuts sparked by the sequester, Obama took the time to enjoy a star-studded concert at the White House tonight. The White House celebration of Memphis Soul music in the East Room--which included special guest appearances by Queen Latifah and Justin Timberlake--is likely to rile Obama´s Republican foes. In the message he issued along with his budget proposal on Wednesday morning, President Barack Obama said he wants to see 4-year-old children in the United States enrolled in public schools. Obama said America needs to start enrolling 4-year-olds to make sure the children are “better prepared for the demands of the global economy” and to help parents save on "child-care costs." After saying the United States needs to “equip our citizens with the skills and training” to fill jobs in manufacturing, energy and infrastructure, Obama said, “And that has to start at the earliest possible age.”

Although the first votes on gun -control legislation have yet to be cast, by some measures the National Rifle Association has already won. Obama’s ambitious plans to ban assault weapons and limit magazine capacities are off the table, while the NRA suggested it could support the most likely outcome -- expanded background checks -- as recently as 1999. The NRA claims that the president’s efforts have triggered a fundraising surge and boosted its membership from 4 million to nearly 5 million.

Margaret Thatcher had more impact on the world than any woman ruler since Catherine the Great of Russia. Not only did she turn around—decisively—the British economy in the 1980s, she also saw her methods copied in more than 50 countries. "Thatcherism" was the most popular and successful way of running a country in the last quarter of the 20th century and into the 21st. Her origins were humble. Born Oct. 13, 1925, she was the daughter of a grocer in the Lincolnshire town of Grantham. Alfred Roberts was no ordinary shopkeeper.

In a stunning end to one of the most aggressively unsuccessful tenures in retail history, JCPenney (JCP) last night announced that CEO Ron Johnson would be leaving effective immediately. Myron Ullman, Johnson´s predecessor at JCPenney, takes office as CEO. When Johnson was initially wooed by JCPenney, it was to serve as CEO with Ullman as Chairman. In January 2012, Ullman was unceremoniously removed from the board. Gone with Ullman was any control the Board of Directors had over Ron Johnson and his control of JCPenney resources. The state of California is reportedly considering legislation that would force group insurance policies to provide infertility treatment for gay and lesbian couples. Two men who have sex with each other for a year and do not produce a baby would be considered “infertile” under the proposed legislation. So would two women having sex. Since biology does not allow those without a uterus to conceive or those without a penis to impregnate, every year-long gay couple in California would potentially be covered by this new provision of California law.
