Fox Host And Dem Rep. In Tense
Battle Over ‘Fairness’ Of
Taxing The Rich

Mediaite, by Andrew Kirell

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/6/2013 11:59:07 AM

On today’s Your World, fill-in host Stuart Varney got into a heated battle with Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) over the issue of “fairness” in increasing taxes on the wealthy. Ellison’s revenue plan includes closing tax loopholes that mainly affect wealthier Americans — estate tax deductions, stock option loopholes, etc. — which prompted Varney to bluntly ask whether this plan was purely aimed at squeezing more money out of the rich. “We go a little further than that and we say we’re going to close loopholes for fossil fuel companies likes Exxon Mobil and Chevron.

Comments:
One thing you can say about these filthy Democrats, they have their talking points down and absolutely nothing will make them stop spewing their lies. They always revert back to the tired canard that if the rich don´t pay more the children will starve.

Does the Muzzie really think oil companies are owned by the rich? Someone should clue him that they are mostly owned by Union retirement funds and the 99%er shareholders.
Liberals are so stupid.

Taxes should be EQUAL on everyone.

Anything other than that is pure theft!

It´s not increasing taxes on the wealthy. The wealthy already have their wealth and they protect it from taxes.

They are increasing taxes on people who are trying to earn and save money to become wealthy.

They are increasing taxes on the low to middle income earner who has a one time wind fall when his company tells him he is no longer going to have his job and here is a buy out package. But even though he faces long term unemployment hereafter - this one time buyout package is looked at as if he is wealthy and will make that much every year so it is taxed to the hilt. Bring back 5 year income averaging.

So Varney points out Mickelson´s 63% tax bite bedween CA and Federal, and asks whether it is fair. After hemming and hawing Ellison says uses and uses the Marxists´ favorite tactic--a false choice strawman.
He says if it is a choice between Mickelson paying high taxes and some elderly person not being able to heat their home, or some poor people going hungry, then it is fair to tax Mickelson 63%.
How is there a direct linkage here? Are there no boondoggle government expenditures that can be cut to be sure Granny doesn´t freeze or poor people eat? And how much of every tax dollar is sucked up by our massive bloated government before it even gets to Granny? And how many Grannies are fraudulently getting benefits?

The Senate will soon vote on President Obama´s nomination of former NAACP Legal Defense Fund official Debo Adegbile to head the Justice Department´s Civil Rights Division. There are a number of reasons many Republicans oppose the nomination, most prominent among them Adegbile´s passionate and continued advocacy on behalf of Philadelphia cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. But one objection to the nomination has received little public notice, and it involves a quiet but growing controversy over the issue of criminal background checks. It´s not unusual for businesses to conduct a check before hiring new employees. If the check uncovers that the applicant has, say,

Devout Christians Uwe and Hannelore Romeike have been seeking asylum because German law does not permit home-schooling and requires children to attend state-approved schools. The Romeikes and their six children moved to Tennessee in 2008 to avoid hefty fines and possible jail time. The family initially was granted asylum by a U.S. immigration judge. That judgment was overturned by an immigration panel, which said the family was not persecuted and was not eligible

FOR FIVE YEARS, President Obama has led a foreign policy based more on how he thinks the world should operate than on reality. It was a world in which “the tide of war is receding” and the United States could, without much risk, radically reduce the size of its armed forces. Other leaders, in this vision, would behave rationally and in the interest of their people and the world. Invasions, brute force, great-power games and shifting alliances — these were things of the past. Secretary of State John F. Kerry displayed this mindset on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday when he
