Bob Menendez Spent Up to 87 Percent
of Wealth Paying Back Donor

National Journal, by Shane Goldmacher

Original Article

Posted By:Toledo, 2/6/2013 7:29:54 AM

When Robert Menendez arrived in the U.S. Senate in 2006, he was a relative pauper in a chamber often called a millionaires’ club. The New Jersey Democrat ranked 97th out of 100 senators in terms of his personal wealth, according to financial records filed that year and compiled by the Center for Responsive Politics. So Menendez’s decision last month to use his personal funds to reimburse a prominent political contributor $58,500 for two flights to the Dominican Republic came at a major cost.

That´s what you get when you run around with high priced prostitutes. They want to get paid. Unlike interns.

Prostitutes are hard working people and should be looked up to as a good example of the work ethic. Unlike congressmen.

Two things here:

1) He never planned to pay for this.

2) The fact that he can´t afford it made no difference, he was entitled, and did what he wanted. This behaviour is rampent in our government and explains why we are where we are.

If you can´t make sound decisions with your own money, how can you be expected to with someone else´s money.

Woody Allen responded Sunday to the accusations of his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow, who claimed that Allen sexually assaulted her when she was seven years old. “Mr. Allen has read the article and found it untrue and disgraceful. He will be responding very soon,” a rep for Allen told The Hollywood Reporter in a statement. Farrow published a letter yesterday detailing her suffering from alleged sexual assault by Woody Allen as a child. The director was never convicted of any crime relating to the allegations. When will President Nicolas Maduro finally free Venezuelans from the tyrannical shackles of supply and demand ruining their lives? Despite his best efforts at establishing price caps, government rationing, currency controls, and stationing troops at places of business in order to prevent the collusion of greedy profit-seekers and American imperialists in their “economic war” against him, the mass shortages of basic goods plaguing Venezuelans persist. Indeed, since parliament granted Maduro his requested “emergency decree powers” in the weeks before the country’s municipal elections and he promised to impose a “new economic order” of fairness and equality, the shortages, the rampant

This wasn’t the presidency Barack Obama had in mind after winning his historic election five years ago. But it is the one he believes he has left. For the first time since taking office, Obama spoke to Congress on Tuesday evening from a clear position of confrontation, threatening to veto new Iran sanctions, warning against further moves against his health-care law and demanding action on a series of previously proposed economic measures.

If you see a $9.84 charge on your credit card statement, you should give it a hard look. The Better Business Bureau says scammers are charging stolen credit card numbers for a small amount of money, and many recent victims were charged $9.84. The scammers believe few cardholders will review purchases involving such small amounts -- and that credit card companies won´t aggressively investigate them, either, the bureau says. Gerri Detweiler, director of consumer education forCredit.com, tells USA TODAY that cardholders too often overlook small charges. "It can be a lot easier for a crook to steal small amounts from thousands of customers

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow came in for some media criticism this month. PunditFact, NewsBusters and ourselves questioned some of her allegations about the activities of Charles and David Koch, the famous industrialists-cum-political activists. In her Jan. 2 program, Maddow connected the Koch brothers to a Florida law that required drug testing for welfare applicants. A federal court had just declared the law unconstitutional, and Maddow suggested that the brothers helped bring this misguided legislation into existence — along with a group called the Naples, Fla.-based Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA): “That’s the Koch-brothers group that has been promoting this idea, right,

In general, Obama’s success rate has been relatively poor since Republicans took control of the House of Representatives in 2011. In 2013, Obama had only four wins out of 23 proposals checked, for a batting average of .174. (If we exclude the five “in the works” proposals, the batting average rises to .222.)
