There has always been something strangely fascinating to me about Albert Arnold Gore, Jr. Maybe it’s those stern Superman looks that make him seem resentful that we woke him up to save Gotham. Or the Jekyll and Hyde lector-hector duality in his persona. Perhaps it’s his improbable ascendancy to Nobel Laureate through less-than-fastidious science. Or the breathtaking hypocrisy of his personal carbon footprint. Maybe it’s just the alleged release of his second chakra in a Portland hotel room. Whatever it is, and whatever quirks and contradictions I’ve observed, nothing prepared me for the rogue wave of hubris that crashed
The Louisville Zoo has the most delightful polar and grizzly bear exhibit which opened in the last three years. The exhibit is run by man-made global warming enthusiasts. If you try to speak to these docents about the actual polar bear population in the world, they are adamant the polar bears population is diminishing and it is the fault of man and carbon dioxide.
I describe these volunteers as gray-headed, aging hippies still searching for a cause to change the world. Very frustrating to try to hold a conversation with...similar to the implacable and hypocritical Al Gore.
Honestly, Al Gore is so wonderful. I simply don´t understand why the Democratic Party doesn´t put him front and center on all future PR campaigns.
Yes, seriously! They could get one of those skyhook cranes to hoist him out of his mega mansion, carry his bloated carcas to the nearest television studio, drop him into a reinforced swivel chair, titillate his chakra, wait for his gas attack to pass, then allow him to hold forth and enlighten all us heathens.
Is there a word large enough to encompass the level of hypocrisy Algore has achieved? "Stratospheric", maybe? Is there a word descriptive enough to communicate the depths of his lies, his denials, his delusions? Honestly, the man is insane. It´s really the only explanation.
Unfortunately it just hasn´t dawned yet on the LoFos how downright stupid and fraudulent this guy is. Their eyes glaze over when I point out he flunked out of divinity school. Perhaps that´s why he can´t help fudging the facts.

I remember when the hipsters sneered at Algore. He was the ultimate in dull, boring and just plain blergh. Then he discovered global warming. All of a sudden, the once boring Algore was a sage. A wizard. A prophet and the hipsters loved him and showered him with honors and largesse.
Now it looks as though the emperor has no clothes, and the hipsters may be on the verge of turning against Gore. I can only hope.
Few ´creatures´ disgust me as much as Al Gore. Larry Flynt comes to mind, as do honey badgers and warthogs. He appears to be the world´s fattest and most famous snake oil salesman......sickening and rotten-to-the-core.
Pompous Al - more than any other individual on the planet - bears responsibility for the insanity of ´carbon costs´ being levied on hapless citizens of the world - even as more and more *real* science bears out the absolute farcical nature of his ´catastrophic predictions´...
When the one-man-tub-of-lard keels over from a massive heart attack - likely setting cholesterol records for adult Americans...
His ´estate´ should be liquidated to defray the costs of his fraudulent life.
First he ´used to be the next president´...then he just fell into ´used to be a credible human´ territory. The fact that he´s given *any* press at all now is gratifying only in the ability if offers to mock him.
The Southern Spotted Owlbert was once my rep. to US Congress. At a public forum I saw people laugh and point when he came to the stage. I could never figure out how he kept winning. When he told the sad story of how he held his dying sisters hand, I knew he had no shame. Knoxville paper proved that at the very time sister Gore passed, Owlbert was making a speech st the Knoxville Civitan Club. A distance of of some 200 mile from her Nahville hospital. And no one in attendance could remember his mentioning that he had a dying sister. W´s accomplishments are too few, but he did keep Owlbert out of the White House.
Al has a score to settle for not being handed the presidency after the 2000 election. What better way to show one´s donkey than wahooo, "you screwed me now just see how crazy I can be! Me, me hey! look over here! I´m nuts!". ie Tipper had enough. It reminds of how Bob Barr of Georgia, supposedly conservative, lost an election and then went and joined the ACLU as a consulting attorney.
Al thinks he is a new version of Chrisopher Columbus. He assures us there is something "over there" but most aren´t buying it. Two of his three ships have sunk and the third is taking on water and listing.
When one is taking flak from different camps for different reasons, the image is going down in flames like the Hindenberg.
If you want to win an argument with a liberal family member, etc over global warming quickly, just mention the cache of emails discovered where scientists were caught rigging data their way, or the fact Charles Manson believes in global warming.
actually, of all his personae, his hubristic one always seemed his most obvious, not his least obvious, persona. Go and actually watch his speech accepting the nomination for VP in 1992 (don´t read the transcript, this part is a bit cleaned up in the transcript). Gore actually said that when his son was fighting for his life after an accident, that while many were praying, God only heard his (that is Gore´s) prayers and that is why God saved his son. As if Gore himself was Christ or somehow more beloved of God than anyone else in the world. That is beyond the typical insane arrogance of the politician.
The wind bag is deflated. The priceless moments come when he gets skewered after expecting the LSM to fawn. You can just feel him wanting to say, ´Hey, come on guys, I´m just trying to make a buck here . . . well, a lot of bucks actually . . . hey, you know me, I´m the Gorebot, your heart´s darling . . . what was that question again? Ack--k-k-k
#16, at least Larry Flynt produced an actual product people wanted to buy, even if it was an indecent product.
Algore has never produced anything but hot air. I laugh when thinking how he managed to con people into believing he was the honest and decent half of the Clinton/Gore administration. Those two were made for each other.
Anybody preaching socialism, no matter how stupid, fake or pompous, will always get a fake serious reception from the likes of fascist supporting Diane Sawyer, Steve Pelley, Piers whatshisname, Brian Williams, all those overpaid traitors to the truth. Algore is the ideal commie blowhard to appear on one brainwash show after the other Happy he´s failing his tour with real people
The liberal jackasses of the world may preach any number of mantras, from clean air to equal opportunity to helping the children but when the tea leaves become visible, two words are left, power and money.
The Gorester wasn´t satisfied with the tobacco money he inherited so he´s made over $100 million by my count peddling global warming snake oil to the rubes and now he´s got another cool half billion from the oil sheiks by selling them a worthless TV channel. The guy is a great flimflam man. My only objection is the people trying to drag me into his fraudulent schemes.
Hey, Ratslayer. He was my representative before we became Razorbacks in the 80s. We could have been neighbors. Let me toss some Tennessee political skeletons at you....Buford Ellington (D), Ray Blanton (D), Jake Butcher (D), Harold Ford (D). Does one see a pattern here? These guys were from the same era of Alblimp´s upbringing. Too bad his daddy DID raise a fool. But he´s just livin´ what he learned. He doesn´t know any other way.
Just a few weeks ago (before the algwhorezero money deal) I told a liberoid acquaintance what a total sleazebag this worthless lying blowhard is.
That "friend" has not brought up algwhorezero nor GloBull Whore-ming since this oil money deal became news. Can we guess why?
Not only was algwhorezero booted from Vanderbilt Divinity School, he was a pathetically bad student at Harvard before that. He has zero scientific credentials.
And perhaps even worse, he and his family made a reported half million dollars on a strip-mine operation in Tennessee that left a massive pie-hole scar on the land. That Earth Pie-Hole is algwhorezero´s true legacy. He´s still eatin´ Eskimo Pies and guzzling Cokes with polar bears to this day.
TALLAHASSEE —A nearly 6-foot-tall "Festivus" pole made from empty beer cans will be put up in the Florida Capitol this week as a not-so-subtle protest to the recent placement of a Christmas nativity scene. The mock monument will be erected most likely on Wednesday in the same first-floor rotunda as a nativity scene depicting the birth of Jesus Christ put up last week by the Florida Prayer Network. "I still chuckle, I literally can´t believe there will be a pile of Pabst Blue Ribbon cans in the state rotunda," said Chaz Stevens, a Deerfield Beach resident who applied to the
The federal health care exchange is incorrectly determining that some people are eligible for Medicaid when they clearly are not, leaving them with little chance to get the subsidized insurance they are entitled to as the Dec. 23 deadline for enrollment approaches. State and industry officials haven´t quantified the problem yet, but the National Association of State Medicaid Directors may release information next week after following up on reports from around the country, says Executive Director Matt Salo. Here´s what happens: When consumers applying for insurance put their income information into subsidy calculators on HealthCare.gov — the exchange handling insurance sales for
HAVANA — Elian Gonzalez, the young Cuban boy who survived a boat sinking and became a political football during the 2000 U.S. presidential campaign as the subject of an international custody fight, is on his first trip overseas since being reunited with his father. Cuban state-run media say Gonzalez is in Ecuador this week as part of a 200-strong delegation to the 23rd World Festival of Youth and Students, which runs through Friday. In a recent interview published on the official website Cubadebate, Gonzalez said living in Cuba afforded him more privacy than if he had stayed in the United
When a former hard-hitting news anchor’s daytime talk show suffers dangerously slipping ratings, what’s the next step? If it’s Katie Couric, the answer is to trade a history of responsible reporting for irresponsible scaremongering. In her segment last week on the HPV vaccine, Couric delivered a blow to both public health and her image. The question now is what Couric – if she’s willing – can do to repair the damage. It’s a sad turn of events for Couric, once known for drawing attention to public health issues such as colon cancer, which killed her husband. The former CBS anchor, soon
If a five-part opus in The New York Times by Andrea Elliott is to believed, we live in a hard-hearted city. But if you read closely, it suggests just the opposite. Begin with the family at the center of this story. The mother, father and eight kids aren’t really homeless at all. True, they live in housing meant for “homeless families.” But their 540-square-foot unit gives them a solid roof over their heads, in addition to city-provided meals and services. One city official tells us Elliott and the Times ignored many key facts about the family and that its situation is “atypical.” “New
President Barack Obama is flying to South Africa Monday morning to join the emotional extravaganza around the graveside of former president Nelson Mandela, leaving Vice President Joe Biden on his lonesome to attend meetings in the empty White House. The president will board U.S. Air Force One to jet around the world to Johannesburg, the capital of South Africa, while Joe stays behind to keep the lights on at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Obama is flying away from supposedly high-priority negotiations to prevent another budget shutdown of Uncle Sam’s federal government, and also from the top-priority effort to rebuild his crashed Obamacare program. He’s
New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has been in the news fairly often of late, and not just in his home state. The Democrat has been the frequent subject of some admittedly long-shot speculation over a 2016 presidential run if Hillary passes on the ticket. (Personally, I would find a Cuomo candidacy hilarious, not to mention good news for the GOP, when he tried to explain to the rest of the nation how he signed the NY Safe Act, one of the most restrictive and odious gun control laws in the nation.) When he was elected Governor of New York, he
In the late 1930s, as humans managed to launch yet another war that would fail to end all wars, H.G. Wells wrote a series of essays laying out a plan for a better world. Wells, a novelist, reformer and sometime historian, believed that technology could connect people in ways that had never before been possible, joining them in a network and uniting their wisdom into a kind of synaptic and singular mind. The structure Wells imagined would be, he declared, “a sort of mental clearinghouse for the mind, a depot where knowledge and ideas are received, sorted, summarized, digested, clarified,
The story of a special Allied unit dubbed the "Monuments Men" has inspired a Hollywood film set to premier early next year. But who were these men who saved countless European cultural treasures from being lost or destroyed by Nazi forces? It was May 17, 1945, not long after Nazi forces had surrendered, ending Word War II in Europe, when miners dug through the wall of rubble with picks and shovels in Altaussee, Austria. There was a 12-meter thick layer of debris blocking the entrance to the salt mine, and though no one knew what was inside, they all hoped they
SAN DIEGO -- Bob Filner has almost vanished from public view since a defiant resignation speech as San Diego mayor amid widespread allegations that he sexually harassed women. He returns to the spotlight at least once more. The former 10-term congressman will be sentenced Monday for one felony and two misdemeanors for placing a woman in a headlock, kissing another woman and grabbing the buttocks of a third. He pleaded guilty in October in an agreement with prosecutors, who will recommend that he get three months of home confinement and three years of probation. Filner, 71, has avoided even close supporters since
WASHINGTON — The warning resounded through the 2012 presidential campaign. Massachusetts’ groundbreaking health reform, Republican nominee Mitt Romney said, would never work for the country as a whole. Democrats widely dismissed Romney’s comments as politically opportunistic, an effort to distance himself from the plan he backed as governor. Now, given the epic scale of problems that have bedeviled the rollout of President Obama’s plan, some state legislators, insurance and hospital executives, and others around the country are returning to Romney’s refrain. Was the Massachusetts plan, in hindsight, really the best blueprint for the nation? “They should have allowed more flexibility on a state-by-state
In what could be a scene straight out of The Thorn Birds, a once high-ranking priest will finally marry the mother of his child, who happens to be the daughter of a former U.S. ambassador to the Holy See. During his time as a priest, Father Thomas Williams officiated over countless weddings. This weekend, Williams, who left the priesthood in May after admitting he fathered a child out of wedlock, will be on the other side of the altar. The former priest will wed Elizabeth Lev Glendon in a private wedding at an undisclosed location in the United States. Theoretically, the wedding cannot be held in a Catholic church—both because Williams
A veteran Washington adviser who has worked for four Presidents on both sides of the political aisle said that the stunning Government Accountability Report report that found President Barack Obama has not had a one-on-one meeting with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius since the passage of Obamacare over three years ago is an indictment of the entire White House operation and shows that the Obama administration has bordered on "malfeasance." "I have no doubt the White House is right, that Secretary Sebelius was in several group meetings with the president about health care," Gergen caveated, "but the whole
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
Just how much do many Hollywood liberals hate conservatives? In an interview with Playboy, Ben Affleck said, "When I watch a guy [on film] I know is a big Republican, part of me thinks, I probably wouldn’t like this person if I met him": PLAYBOY: You developed a political profile campaigning for presidential candidates Al Gore, John Kerry and Barack Obama. How did that come about? AFFLECK: I grew up in a house with a mother who was a teacher and a Freedom Rider—very left-wing Democrats living in a heterogeneous working-class neighborhood. I picked up a lot of those values there, and I
On his way to the podium at the memorial ceremony for former South African president Nelson Mandela, President Obama walked down the line of dignitaries, greeting other leaders there to pay their respects. Among the hands shaken: that of Cuban leader Raul Castro. Obama neither made a special effort to shake Castro’s hand nor to avoid him. A snub might have been awkward: In his speech, Obama praised Mandela’s “greatest gift” as “his recognition that we are all bound together in ways that can be invisible to the eye; that there is a oneness to humanity; that we achieve ourselves by
The Obama State Department has finally released a second round of photos revealing the harrowing devastation wrought by a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012. The new photographs depict rampant damage to the consulate. They show charred walls, smoldering fires, Arabic graffiti defacing exterior walls, and scattered debris throughout. The extent of the damage would lead any reasonably serious person to conclude that this was a cold, calculated attack, carefully coordinated to mark the 11th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001. Unfortunately for the American people, the Obama-Clinton-Rice cabal that led to the Benghazi cover-up was
MSNBC host Melissa Harris-Perry opened her program over the weekend with a commentary about the Affordable Care Act’s colloquial moniker: “Obamacare.” She said that the word was originally created as a “derogatory term,” designed by white men as a way to delegitimize President Barack Obama and his achievement. However, she said that the term will soon be synonymous with all of Obama’s accomplishments and she urged her audience to use the term with pride. “I want to talk today about a controversial word. It’s a word that has been with us for years, and like it or not, it’s indelibly
A “presidential selfie” featuring President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister David Cameron, and Denmark’s Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt at Nelson Mandela’s memorial service began making the rounds this morning, but it’s the person not included in the frame who caught everyone’s attention: As anyone with two eyes and a Twitter account has noticed, Michelle Obama does not appear amused. Of course, though a picture says a thousand words, not all of those words are necessarily true. FLOTUS might not have even known the photo was taking place. Or she could disapprove of funeral selfies. Either way.
A black fashion student says he was brutally attacked by a gang of Hasidic men who shouted anti-gay slurs at him while he was walking through Williamsburg after a night of partying, the Daily News has learned. Taj Patterson, 22, was headed home to Fort Greene around 4:30 a.m. on Dec. 1 when he says more than a dozen ultra-Orthodox Jewish men began assaulting him on Flushing Ave. and yelling, “Stay down, f----t!”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a last minute decision not to participate in a memorial service for the late South African President Nelson Mandela, despite having notified the South African government that he would attend the event. The decision was made in light of the high transportation costs resulting from the short notice of the trip and the security required for the prime minister in Johannesburg. The Prime Minister’s Office found that the trip would have cost roughly 7 million shekels ($2.4 million) – 2.8 million shekels for chartering a private El Al plane and a further 3.2 million shekels for
President Obama, former president George W. Bush and their wives departed Washington Monday morning on Air Force One on their way to a memorial service in South Africa for Nelson Mandela. The president and first lady Michelle Obama are being accompanied by Mr. Bush, former first lady Laura Bush and former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on the flight to Johannesburg. A four-hour memorial service will be held on Tuesday for South Africa’s first black president. Mr. Mandela, the anti-apartheid revolutionary, died on Thursday at age 95. Former President Bill Clinton and daughter Chelsea are traveling separately to South Africa. Former President
President Obama will make remarks on Nelson Mandela´s legacy during a memorial service Tuesday for the late South African freedom fighter, officials said Monday. "We do expect President Obama to speak as part of the program," said Ben Rhodes, deputy national security adviser for strategic communications. The president and first lady Michelle Obama departed Monday for Johannesburg, where a Mandela memorial service will be held in a soccer stadium. Obama, who will also spend time with the Mandela family, is not scheduled to hold any bilateral meetings with foreign leaders while in South Africa, Rhodes said. Rhodes also said the
Barack Obama has arrived in South Africa to lead the American delegation at a memorial service for former South African President Nelson Mandela in Johannesburg. But his party is reportedly stuck in traffic and he is said to have arrived late at the stadium for the ceremony. [Snip] But Mr Clinton, Mr Carter and his wife Rosalynn have all traveled separately to the event. According to reports, Mr Obama and his delegation are stuck in a lines of traffic caused by tens of thousands of people making their way to the event. Mr Obama is among the foreign leaders who
