| President Barack Obama on Sunday said Scouting should be open to gay members. Details to come. The Scouts´ national leadership is mulling scrapping the mandatory exclusion of gay members. Instead, the group could allow different religious and civic groups that sponsor Scout units to decide for themselves how to address the issue — either maintaining the exclusion or opening up their membership. Even though the Irving-based Boy Scouts reaffirmed the no-gays policy just seven months ago, the proposal is expected to be discussed, and possibly voted on, at the meeting of the Scouts´ national executive board,

If the Scouts will allow homos to join, then they must allow girls to join. There is no difference, sexuality-wise. Both the homos and the girls are attracted to the boys in the Scouts.

My children had gay teachers in theater, music and dance and didn´t suffer for it, but they were just regular people with no agenda. Today,everything has an agenda.

If I were president... If somebody asked me about football or a local arrest or the Boy Scouts or any pop culture phenomenon, I´d just say it´s not a federal matter and any comments I might make could improperly influence things that weren´t my concern.

Boy Scouts range in age from 11 to 17 years of age, chances are a kid between those ages would have little or no knowledge of the gay lifestyle, if the liberal entertainment industries were not making such a big issue of it to them. I don´t believe anyone or any group has denied them the privilege of starting "Gay Scouts of America." Those individuals or families that like the idea can become leaders or become troop members. Then they are free to do their thing. But I just bet lawsuits would soon be plentiful. That´s a risk for any organization, especially where youth are involved. Would they be brave enough. is it important enough to go independent of the Boy Scouts? I think not, as the radical ´pushers´ of moral decline, aimed at traditional American families, operate better as parasites on the healthy host... If they REALLY believe in this lifestyle.. go for it, independently.. willing to learn from the results of their standards, their efforts within their own organization. Put it to a test..

Responding to a federal appeals court mandate, lawyers for former Enron CEO Jeff Skilling and the U.S. Department of Justice Wednesday reached an agreement that could knock a decade off the disgraced CEO’s 24-year sentence. Skilling, 59, was convicted in 2006 of conspiracy, securities fraud, making false statements to auditors and one count of insider trading in connection with the energy company’s 2001 collapse. The new agreement provides for a jail term of 14 to 17 years and a financial penalty of $40 million. He would be credited for time already served. Skilling’s sentencing is set for June 21

Of the three cable networks, Fox News on Wednesday offered the most substantial coverage of whistleblower testimony on the September 11th terrorist attack in Benghazi. Fox broke in first at 11:36am and has been airing the hearings mostly unobstructed since. CNN followed at noon. Anchor Wolf Blitzer appeared and introduced coverage. The cable network stuck with the testimony for 15 minutes before leaving to feature discussion by Blitzer and Jake Tapper. MSNBC, unsurprisingly, was last. It wasn´t until 12:17pm, after spending copious amounts of time on the Cleveland abduction case, that the network finally showcased the hearings.

Ahead of today’s House Congressional hearing on the Benghazi attack, Stephen Colbert took a head-first dive into Fox News’ speculative coverage of what that network has been promising will be “explosive” revelations. When it first became clear that the CIA’s Benghazi talking points had been altered, many of us viewed the White House as the prime suspect. After all, it served President Obama’s political purposes to claim, at the height of a political campaign in which he was taking credit for the fall of al Qaeda, that the death of a U.S. ambassador was down to spontaneous outrage over a video, rather than pre-planned terrorism. It turns out, however, that the State Department was the prime culprit. It was State that pushed back hard against the original talking points.

The Seattle Police Department collected more than 700 guns during a buyback in January, and now city officials have a plan for what to do with them. Former Gov. Mark Sanford completed the trail to political redemption Tuesday with a win over Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch to reclaim his old seat in Congress. Sanford defeated Colbert Busch 54 percent to 45 percent, according to full unofficial results. Mark Sanford has won the South Carolina special election in a competitive race for what in normal circumstances is a safe Republican seat. The former governor beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert Busch, for the state’s 1st congressional district. The AP called the race for Sanford early in the evening, with the Republican leading Colbert Busch 54 percent 46 percent.
