O-Blam!-a backfire
New York Post, by Carl Campanile

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/3/2013 5:14:36 AM

He’s full of skeet! Gun owners lampooned President Obama as Elmer Fudd yesterday after the White House released a photo — in the middle of a fierce national firearms debate — of the commander-in-chief shooting clay targets at Camp David over the summer. While the president’s shooting skills were being mocked, his own gun-control allies privately fretted that Obama risked being ridiculed as a phony for suddenly trying to portray himself as a friend of sportsmen and hunters. Or, conversely, that he was glorifying the use of guns. The photo was taken last Aug. 4, on Obama’s 51st birthday.

I know pretty much nothing about guns but in the pic they released there doesn´t seem to be any sign of recoil as the shot goes off.Why would somebody be shooting at a skeet at ground level?

Here are early photoshop shooting pics making the rounds. Can´t say they didn´t ask for it. Emjoy.

It should be noted, once again, that the Second Amendment has nothing to do with skeet shooting or hunting.

Reply 4 - Posted by: cshoff, 2/3/2013 6:54:24 AM     (No. 9155341)

Mounted to shoulder as in picture will bruise clavicle terribly. Shot gun is not aimed down barrel as a rifle. That´s why drop (downward slant) of stock differs between rifle and shotgun.

Shoots like he throws. Sorry, I was going to say like a girl but girl shooters do it right. Shoots like a klutz.

Reply 5 - Posted by: planetgeo, 2/3/2013 6:55:20 AM     (No. 9155343)

The only thing dumber than Obama´s girl-stance with that rifle is the White House´s warning to not photoshop their photoshopped picture. Apparently they never heard of the first amendment to our constitution. Maybe that´s what Obama was aiming at in their picture off-camera.

Reply 6 - Posted by: Ecclesiastes, 2/3/2013 7:05:53 AM     (No. 9155349)

We don´t know what he was aiming at.

We don´t know when the photo was taken.

We don´t know who is in the photo, really.

We don´t know if the photo was altered.

But whoever it is, if he held the gun like that, it was the FIRST time he ever pulled the trigger. Nobody does that twice. It hurts too much.

Reply 7 - Posted by: rolfnader, 2/3/2013 7:13:19 AM     (No. 9155354)

Will someone please tell him that proper way to shoot skeet is to place the bootplate loosely on the bridge of his nose? That way-you can aim with both eyes.

Just trying to be helpful.

Reply 9 - Posted by: bmw50, 2/3/2013 7:23:16 AM     (No. 9155364)

Who can believe anything this administration releases? Obama is a liar that puts Bill Clinton to shame. Honesty and truth are not in their vocabulary.
When and where was the picture taken, what was he shooting at, did he fire more that one shot, was it choreographed, why was the picture taken???...

Obama is a creation, marketed by the media, a
"brand" sold to the public by people who want to take all the spoils, leaving America in ruin. Nothing about him is as it appears. Everything is done to promote "the agenda" and fits the narrative.

So when the WH releases a photo of Obama skeet shooting, who would believe it (except the 60% American sheeple)?

If he was really shooting at a clay pigeon the gun would be aimed up not straight out. Looks to me like he´s shooting at a target. If it´s really him. My hubby questions the plume of smoke coming out of the side of the barrel. That shouldn´t be there.

#13, that´s what I was thinking. The only reason I can imagine for that side gas vent is to reduce the kick so the first sissy doesn´t break his shoulder.

That side venting would reduce the range of the shot to about 3 1/2 feet or about the distance these commies think past their collective noses.

#4, you do aim down the barrel of a shot gun if you want to hit anything.

Check out the attempt by Obama & Production Co. to paint the 2nd amendment as a sports issue or hunting issue, neither of which it is:

The Second Amendment has nothing to do with skeet shooting.”

The 2nd Amendment is ONLY about protecting the people from exactly the kind of over-reaching power-hungry government Obama´s Administration is making America into.

Let´s not let the Left define what the 2nd amendment is about. The photo would be laughable were it not for the fact that too many Americans will construe it to mean that the amendment is about sports and not government tyranny.

The notices warn against ANYONE ELSE photoshoping the picture, but no codicil as to the WH photoshoping it BEFORE its ´timely´ release.

The wife pointed out his gray hair, back in August of 2012 his hair color was shown much DARKER (Election time ya know!), more recently he has been allowed to ´gray´ (more ´Statesman-like´ ya know!).
As pointed out by other posters: A shotgun held high on the shoulder will leave a hurtful, powerful bruise that will tAKE A LONG TIME TO HEAL. FURTHER, Holding a shotgun next to the cheek to sight down the barrel will possibly cause a ´punch´ to the jaw that could leave a hell of a bruise on one´s face; potentially causing a tooth to be broken. Also holding a shotgun by/or on the barrel, and not on the fore grip, when shooting multiple shots at the clays will create a burn that will hurt for some time.
The picture of Barry was posed, and the discharge was added, IMHO mostly because modern smokeless powders do not leave a plume as shown in the photo, after one shot.
Looks like the WH was being only reactive to public opinion. The people who released it, passed the photo for Lo-Fo public; had no idea as to what an individual would look like while shooting skeet.
Another lame,hurry-up job to cover Barry´s gimlet Arse.

What shows arrogance and dislike for the gun owners is the mocking words that the WH Plume used when he released the photo, calling the "Would be" skeptics... skeeters.

We all know that BO wants to disarm the U.S. citizens and trying to appear to be "just like us" is how he´s going to try to fake-out the gun owners. Problem is, the gun owners know what BO is trying to do, and they don´t trust him. Nor should they.

#25 is correct. Obie is holding a rifle which of course are not used for shooting skeet. Only the imagery and fakeness of Obie himself as shown in the photo would fool the sheep...again as #9 notes very astutely.

Amazing shot. I mean camera shot. Precisely as the shot left the barrel and before the recoil. Amazing, and with only one take. Actually I think he was shooting (if this is even real) at a cardboard cutout of Rush Limbaugh.

I have been laughing, a thing I have not done much of since Nov. 6, 2012. This is so ludicrous. Do they really think we are that stupid, or are they making fun...what is going on they want to hide while we are mocking this photo? And hey, now they think they can ignore the First Amendment, too.

No recoil, wrong sighting, wrong gun, wrong posture, wrong smoke pattern. If I shot a gun in this posture, I would be on my butt on the ground, not standing there like a statute.

But what a HOOT. Thanks, White House for the cometic relief.

Reply 40 - Posted by: lakerman1, 2/3/2013 9:13:38 AM     (No. 9155535)

The photo is odd. When firing a shotgun, you use what is called a sighting plane (or plain) where you are using the bead sight on the front of the barrel. In the photo, his left thumb is blocking his view, and he is about two inches below the proper position. (depending on the structureof one´s cheeks, it is necessary for some people to pad the stock area to sight properly. In addition, the fingers on his right hand, on the forearm of the gun, are blocking his view.
What the photo represents to me, at minimum, is a shooter who has never fired a shotgun before. A girlie man.

Notice that everytime something comes up questioning Obozo´s truthfullness, after a period of time, schazam, here comes the proof with a nice photo. Something about it looks strange for a shotgun. Could that be an antique rifle instead of a shotgun?

Considering the way the birth-certificate matter was treated (with the press testily defending Obama when the first document he produced wasn´t even the right format!), do you suppose they´ll call the same play this time? I don´t imagine any of the MSM will put any resources to critical analysis of the photo (or even given any time or space to competent -- and independent -- photo analysts).

Just what would they be worried the photo would be photoshopped as, altered to, after the release? It looks just fine the way it is and says so much; wouldn´t change a thing. It´s another feather in the hat of potemkin village.

Why would conservatives make an issue of photoshopping Obama´s head over someone else firing the weapon in this picture? It might hold water if the stance and technique were correct but they are not so what difference does it make?
If the libs were going to paste bamsters picture over someone else firing, the least they could have done was henched it to someone who knew what they were doing.

Obama and the Ploofter are using this to belittle and mock Americans.

Prior to Obama, I have never seen the President of the United States stoop to derisive name-calling toward any segment of the population. Conflating the terms ´skeeters´ with ´birthers´ is derisive and mocking - and quite intentional (Aliksky tactic).

With the coronation of Obama, civility´s slide has accelerated dramatically. whereas Bush followed in the mold of Washington, who proclaimed with his entire life story that the most important part of leadership is setting an example, Obama is following in the mold of the kings and emperors of old, as well as Stalin and Chavez and Kim Jung Il.

Well, if Americans respond to mocking, then lets give the skinny, poofter with a shotgun a good dose!

Magna porting a shotgun provides approximately the same action/benefit as the "Outlawed/Deadly" flash suppressors do on an "assault weapon"...in fact their presence is what MAKES them an "assault weapon" as opposed to just another "sporting" rifle.

We read every day that some child is expelled for
bringing a photo or drawing of a gun to school.
Will they now be expelled If they bring a photo
of Barry and his blazing Blunderbuss ??
# 60 It´s reported that Barry usually spends between
five and six hours on the golf course.
Reuters reported that on August 4 ,
he played in " hot , muggy weather conditions ".
They also reported that he planned
to spend a quiet evening at Camp David.
It seems illogical, knowing Barry´s level of physical stamina and self indulgence , that after spending 6 hours
on a hot and muggy golf course,
he´s going to race back to Camp David
and suddenly engage in an activity he despises.
More likely he got a massage and then relaxed in the hot tub with Reggie Love and judging from his stomach pooch ,
they also drank a lot of beer.

Modern shells use smokeless powder. Judging from the heavy smoke, the ammo evidently was pretty old or more likely simply blanks.

The most compelling argument for the pic being a phony or fraud, is what has been pointed out already about the precise timing of the photo capture of the smoke exit, before the slightest reaction to a non-existent recoil. Which in itself eliminates the pic as possibly originating from a video.

Shotguns haven´t emitted smoke like that since the invention of smokeless powder.

Also, the porting is done in a V shape and there should be smoke on the left side of the barrel as well, which we do not see. The lower barrel is ported the same as the top and should exhibit a V pattern, IF YOU COULD SEE IT. Not like this stupid smoke in the picture.

Reply 91 - Posted by: dvc, 2/3/2013 2:13:41 PM     (No. 9155999)

THE most important point is that the 2nd Amendment is in NO WAY related to hunting or sport shooting.

The smoke coming from the side of the barrel indicates a ported barrel, used to reduce recoil. The stance and head and shoulder positions are fair/poor, clearly someone that has never done this much or maybe ever before.

I, too, question the smoke quantity, suspect a blank round. No recoil evident and it should have quite a bit by the time the gases are exiting the muzzle.

It IS a shotgun, not a rifle, an over-under double barrel, of the type commonly used for this sport. I´ll bet $100 he could not hit even 8 of the shots on a 25 "bird" round of skeet.

So here’s the formula. An independent agency of the U.S. government. United States Senators. A powerful campaign contributor to said United States Senators. A powerful campaign contributor who wants something from said independent agency. Add it all together and what you get is — The Keating Five. And the IRS Ten. Let’s start, by way of illustrating how the game worked, with The Keating Five. There were five of them. Five United States Senators. Two already military heroes before they spent a day in the United States Senate. The other three were garden variety U.S. Senators, lifelong politicians.

One of the most concerning things about recent revelations about the extent of our surveillance state is that nothing revealed was illegal. What is more, to the deciders, this apparently wasn’t all that controversial. I mentioned this Monday, but it bears repeating. By design, the founding fathers pit ambition against ambition, creating an adversarial system where power is divided. Yet despite this power and responsibility, the other players have served as a rubber stamp for the White House. Let’s discuss some of these checks and balances. Obviously, we have three co-equal branches of government — and differing layers of government, too.
