He’s full of skeet! Gun owners lampooned President Obama as Elmer Fudd yesterday after the White House released a photo — in the middle of a fierce national firearms debate — of the commander-in-chief shooting clay targets at Camp David over the summer. While the president’s shooting skills were being mocked, his own gun-control allies privately fretted that Obama risked being ridiculed as a phony for suddenly trying to portray himself as a friend of sportsmen and hunters. Or, conversely, that he was glorifying the use of guns. The photo was taken last Aug. 4, on Obama’s 51st birthday.
The only thing dumber than Obama´s girl-stance with that rifle is the White House´s warning to not photoshop their photoshopped picture. Apparently they never heard of the first amendment to our constitution. Maybe that´s what Obama was aiming at in their picture off-camera.
Who can believe anything this administration releases? Obama is a liar that puts Bill Clinton to shame. Honesty and truth are not in their vocabulary. When and where was the picture taken, what was he shooting at, did he fire more that one shot, was it choreographed, why was the picture taken???...
Obama is a creation, marketed by the media, a "brand" sold to the public by people who want to take all the spoils, leaving America in ruin. Nothing about him is as it appears. Everything is done to promote "the agenda" and fits the narrative.
So when the WH releases a photo of Obama skeet shooting, who would believe it (except the 60% American sheeple)?
If he was really shooting at a clay pigeon the gun would be aimed up not straight out. Looks to me like he´s shooting at a target. If it´s really him. My hubby questions the plume of smoke coming out of the side of the barrel. That shouldn´t be there.
Check out the attempt by Obama & Production Co. to paint the 2nd amendment as a sports issue or hunting issue, neither of which it is:
The Second Amendment has nothing to do with skeet shooting.”
The 2nd Amendment is ONLY about protecting the people from exactly the kind of over-reaching power-hungry government Obama´s Administration is making America into.
Let´s not let the Left define what the 2nd amendment is about. The photo would be laughable were it not for the fact that too many Americans will construe it to mean that the amendment is about sports and not government tyranny.
The notices warn against ANYONE ELSE photoshoping the picture, but no codicil as to the WH photoshoping it BEFORE its ´timely´ release.
The wife pointed out his gray hair, back in August of 2012 his hair color was shown much DARKER (Election time ya know!), more recently he has been allowed to ´gray´ (more ´Statesman-like´ ya know!). As pointed out by other posters: A shotgun held high on the shoulder will leave a hurtful, powerful bruise that will tAKE A LONG TIME TO HEAL. FURTHER, Holding a shotgun next to the cheek to sight down the barrel will possibly cause a ´punch´ to the jaw that could leave a hell of a bruise on one´s face; potentially causing a tooth to be broken. Also holding a shotgun by/or on the barrel, and not on the fore grip, when shooting multiple shots at the clays will create a burn that will hurt for some time. The picture of Barry was posed, and the discharge was added, IMHO mostly because modern smokeless powders do not leave a plume as shown in the photo, after one shot. Looks like the WH was being only reactive to public opinion. The people who released it, passed the photo for Lo-Fo public; had no idea as to what an individual would look like while shooting skeet. Another lame,hurry-up job to cover Barry´s gimlet Arse.
What shows arrogance and dislike for the gun owners is the mocking words that the WH Plume used when he released the photo, calling the "Would be" skeptics... skeeters.
We all know that BO wants to disarm the U.S. citizens and trying to appear to be "just like us" is how he´s going to try to fake-out the gun owners. Problem is, the gun owners know what BO is trying to do, and they don´t trust him. Nor should they.
#25 is correct. Obie is holding a rifle which of course are not used for shooting skeet. Only the imagery and fakeness of Obie himself as shown in the photo would fool the sheep...again as #9 notes very astutely.
Amazing shot. I mean camera shot. Precisely as the shot left the barrel and before the recoil. Amazing, and with only one take. Actually I think he was shooting (if this is even real) at a cardboard cutout of Rush Limbaugh.
"He´s full of skeet!" Campanile rings the bell. #7 made me laugh out loud. Hard to do after watching my beloved Jayhawks lose last night. The White House showed what fools they are releasing this photo into the public where many, many millions really do know something about guns. The comments above are great. I´d love to see one of the WH press corps press Carney on this.
I have been laughing, a thing I have not done much of since Nov. 6, 2012. This is so ludicrous. Do they really think we are that stupid, or are they making fun...what is going on they want to hide while we are mocking this photo? And hey, now they think they can ignore the First Amendment, too.
No recoil, wrong sighting, wrong gun, wrong posture, wrong smoke pattern. If I shot a gun in this posture, I would be on my butt on the ground, not standing there like a statute.
But what a HOOT. Thanks, White House for the cometic relief.
The photo is odd. When firing a shotgun, you use what is called a sighting plane (or plain) where you are using the bead sight on the front of the barrel. In the photo, his left thumb is blocking his view, and he is about two inches below the proper position. (depending on the structureof one´s cheeks, it is necessary for some people to pad the stock area to sight properly. In addition, the fingers on his right hand, on the forearm of the gun, are blocking his view. What the photo represents to me, at minimum, is a shooter who has never fired a shotgun before. A girlie man.
Is Obozo going to ride around in a tank next to show his overwhelming support of our troops?
Notice that everytime something comes up questioning Obozo´s truthfullness, after a period of time, schazam, here comes the proof with a nice photo. (birth certificate) I wonder if these people really believe that we are that stupid. This is America! The country that has invented over half of modern technology and sent men to the moon and back. WE ARE NOT STUPID!
Thanks for that last one, #6. Cracked me up... probably more than today´s comics will.
Something about it looks strange for a shotgun. Could that be an antique rifle instead of a shotgun?
Considering the way the birth-certificate matter was treated (with the press testily defending Obama when the first document he produced wasn´t even the right format!), do you suppose they´ll call the same play this time? I don´t imagine any of the MSM will put any resources to critical analysis of the photo (or even given any time or space to competent -- and independent -- photo analysts).
Pictures of O holding guns reminds me of the new Volkswagon commercial with the dad teaching his son to throw a baseball. Unfortunately, O has surrounded himself with girly men that cannot even tell him when he looks lame.
Just what would they be worried the photo would be photoshopped as, altered to, after the release? It looks just fine the way it is and says so much; wouldn´t change a thing. It´s another feather in the hat of potemkin village.
Why would conservatives make an issue of photoshopping Obama´s head over someone else firing the weapon in this picture? It might hold water if the stance and technique were correct but they are not so what difference does it make? If the libs were going to paste bamsters picture over someone else firing, the least they could have done was henched it to someone who knew what they were doing.
A friend on FB posted that the AP published that Obama spent Aug 4, 2012 (his birthday) on the golf course before taking a helo to Camp David for a "quiet evening with his family off the campaign trail."
So when did he fit this round of skeet in? And I never noticed him favoring his arm as he surely would have had he ever really fired a gun as shown in this photo...
Me? I´m breathlessy awaiting the photo of President Obama catching a fly in mid-air with chop-sticks. As Mr. Miyagi from the movie, Karate Kid, said, ´´Man who catch fly with chopsticks can do anything.´´
He for sure wasn´t shooting skeet, unless they were dangling a motionless one for him to aim at. I think there was a copy of the Constitution in front of him. Would probably give him immense satisfaction.
Ye gods! Let the laughing, hooting, thigh-slapping, cartooning, and other rowdy fun begin. These people asked for it by assuming 95 percent of the people are idiots. Even their own commies must now know that they jumped the shark. But his narcissism will not withstand the fun. Should be interesting.
He, one man child, may be laughing at us, but there are millions upon millions laughing at him in the US alone. Add in the rest of the world and there are billions laughing at him. Just imagine how that gets under his thin skin. Alinsky was right - ridicule is the best weapon. I hope that zippy reads this thread.
Obama and the Ploofter are using this to belittle and mock Americans.
Prior to Obama, I have never seen the President of the United States stoop to derisive name-calling toward any segment of the population. Conflating the terms ´skeeters´ with ´birthers´ is derisive and mocking - and quite intentional (Aliksky tactic).
With the coronation of Obama, civility´s slide has accelerated dramatically. whereas Bush followed in the mold of Washington, who proclaimed with his entire life story that the most important part of leadership is setting an example, Obama is following in the mold of the kings and emperors of old, as well as Stalin and Chavez and Kim Jung Il.
Well, if Americans respond to mocking, then lets give the skinny, poofter with a shotgun a good dose!
Magna porting a shotgun provides approximately the same action/benefit as the "Outlawed/Deadly" flash suppressors do on an "assault weapon"...in fact their presence is what MAKES them an "assault weapon" as opposed to just another "sporting" rifle.
We read every day that some child is expelled for bringing a photo or drawing of a gun to school. Will they now be expelled If they bring a photo of Barry and his blazing Blunderbuss ?? # 60 It´s reported that Barry usually spends between five and six hours on the golf course. Reuters reported that on August 4 , he played in " hot , muggy weather conditions ". They also reported that he planned to spend a quiet evening at Camp David. It seems illogical, knowing Barry´s level of physical stamina and self indulgence , that after spending 6 hours on a hot and muggy golf course, he´s going to race back to Camp David and suddenly engage in an activity he despises. More likely he got a massage and then relaxed in the hot tub with Reggie Love and judging from his stomach pooch , they also drank a lot of beer.
Modern shells use smokeless powder. Judging from the heavy smoke, the ammo evidently was pretty old or more likely simply blanks.
The most compelling argument for the pic being a phony or fraud, is what has been pointed out already about the precise timing of the photo capture of the smoke exit, before the slightest reaction to a non-existent recoil. Which in itself eliminates the pic as possibly originating from a video.
Skeet shooters wear either a vest with big pockets to hold the shells or a shell pouch on a belt.So if he is really shooting skeet, somebody by his side hands him the shells? I want to hear him yell pull!!!
Shotguns haven´t emitted smoke like that since the invention of smokeless powder.
Also, the porting is done in a V shape and there should be smoke on the left side of the barrel as well, which we do not see. The lower barrel is ported the same as the top and should exhibit a V pattern, IF YOU COULD SEE IT. Not like this stupid smoke in the picture.
THE most important point is that the 2nd Amendment is in NO WAY related to hunting or sport shooting.
The smoke coming from the side of the barrel indicates a ported barrel, used to reduce recoil. The stance and head and shoulder positions are fair/poor, clearly someone that has never done this much or maybe ever before.
I, too, question the smoke quantity, suspect a blank round. No recoil evident and it should have quite a bit by the time the gases are exiting the muzzle.
It IS a shotgun, not a rifle, an over-under double barrel, of the type commonly used for this sport. I´ll bet $100 he could not hit even 8 of the shots on a 25 "bird" round of skeet.
While the President of France is focusing on eliminating al-Qaeda terrorists from Africa and the President of Israel is concentrating on destroying chemical weapons in Syria, the President of the United States is preoccupied with exposing photos of himself shooting at pieces of clay.
Have we ever in our lifetime been lied to so much? By this curtain-hanging skinny punk? My Muslim Religion! 57 states! Marine CORPSE! You didnt build that ! You werent born here!
Now he attempts a bigger lie, that he regularly goes "skeet shooting"....And this fake photo is supposed to shut us up? Only if we are blind dumbass doofuses! Which we here at this wonderful salon ARE NOT! He should be forced to take Donald Trumps $5 million and SHOW US THE TRANSCRIPTS!! LIAR! PHONY! FAKER! Impeach both bozos in the White House now and let Boehner run things until the next election, thats my dream..yes, white men have DREAMS too!
i believe the porting on this gun is a row of ports several inches long. being so, any smoke should be a wide band not what appears to be a single point source and not so wispy. If someone can identify the model shotgun i would think SOMEONE would be able to reproduce this picture and compare the flash signature. I agree, that is quite a bit of smoke...
Bet me a spent 12 ga cartridge that The Putter Prince of the Fairways Fields and Streams makes a hole in one on some obscure golf outing before he is out of office and make my prediction, there will be no one around as a witnessto the feat just like no witnesses of his photo-op shotgun blast.
I think the original message got garbled. What Obama actually said was that they go snipe hunting all the time. The reason the picture looks strange is that most L-Dotters have never used special-purpose snipe guns.
HOT SPRINGS, Ark.—On a recent late-fall Saturday, Barbara Deuschle, a local restaurant owner, was recounting her first impression of her congressman, Tom Cotton, who is now running for the Senate. It was back in August 2011, just before the young Republican lawmaker formally announced his first campaign for the House, and Cotton and his dad came to a party meeting to get to know the faithful. Cotton was a 34-year-old political unknown who had recently lived in Washington. "When he just parachuted down into this district, nobody ever heard of him," she recalls. "I said, ´Who are you? We´d never
WASHINGTON — Taxpayers can expect to get stuck with a more than $1 billion bill for the creation and repair of the federal ObamaCare Web site, a top House Republican warned. “The fact is, eventually they’ll get this Web site working at the cost of probably over a billion dollars,” House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (Calif.) said on Fox News Channel. The Obama administration did not respond to The Post’s questions Thursday about the tab for the round-the-clock “tech surge” deployed in mid-October to repair HealthCare.gov. The cost of building the bug-ridden site, which launched Oct.
On the list of scandals that plagued the Obama administration this past year, Benghazi has been the one the White House, Democrats, and their cheerleaders in the mainstream media dismissed with the greatest of ease. Unlike the IRS scandal, which though it has faded from the news had obvious constitutional and political implications, or the various spying scandals involving news organizations and the National Security Agency, which outraged large numbers of ordinary Americans, Benghazi was put down as a manufactured story that had little traction. Part of it was due to the obsessive, though understandable, focus of Republicans on the
No disrespect to Macaulay Culkin (#ALLDISRESPECTTOTHEPIGEONLADY), but we prefer The Pet Collective´s retelling of Home Alone to the original movie. Mostly because Kevin McCallister is now played by an adorable pug puppy. And if a pug puppy setting booby traps for teddy bear burglars isn´t adorable enough for you, the video also narrated by a small child. So forget Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Forget Elf. This is the only Christmas movie you need to watch this year. (Snip for video)As you might suspect, the pug, named Jackson Rosa, could not be more over it...
I’m not sure what Chris Matthews was doing with President Obama yesterday, but it wasn’t hardball. It wasn’t even softball. It was more like wiffle ball. Everyone knew going in that the MSNBC host would be a sympathetic interviewer. But he knew he would be graded on his aggressiveness, so I expected at least a few fastballs. Uh uh. Instead, in a half-hour sitdown, there was one challenging question. Just one. It was as though Matthews was channeling Jay Carney. Matthews is a likable guy with a passion for politics, but he left his interviewing chops at the door. The
WASHINGTON — Sen. Ted Cruz, elected 13 months ago by actual voters, said Thursday he’d prefer to see state legislators pick U.S. senators – as they were until a century ago, when the 17th Amendment came along. Direct election of senators has eroded states’ rights, Cruz argued, speaking to a ballroom filled with conservative state lawmakers from around the country. “If you have the ability to hire and fire me,” he said, “I’m a lot less likely to break into your house and steal your television. So there’s no doubt that was a major step toward the explosion of federal power and
I´m sitting at my desk, looking at a photograph of a gangrenous foot. It is a bloated thing in hues of phlegmatic gray rot, sanguine inflammation, melancholic black bile, and choleric open sores — exhibiting all the humors of a meeting of the United Nations Human Rights Council. Above the photograph, in bold white capitals on a dull, matte background are the words “smoking causes peripheral vascular disease.” The photograph is helpfully labeled “gangrene.” Below the photograph, in a bland sans-serif typeface with letters an eighth of an inch high, is “Marlboro Red.” This is a pack of Australian cigarettes,
Come January, when some number of Americans have bought insurance on the new health exchanges and are starting to use the services, you can expect another controversy to arise when many of them find out just how few doctors and hospitals they have access to. Call it “doc shock,” though the biggest outcry will not come when people try to schedule an appointment with their physician, but when someone gets sick and they learn they cannot go to whatever top-notch hospital they want, only to the hospital that is included in their plan. The problem varies across the country. In Washington,
Last month in San Francisco, President Obama called on Congress to enact comprehensive immigration reform. His speech was novel in many respects: The president used the backdrop of a community center in Chinatown to remind voters that immigrants are racially diverse. Also, for the first time in prepared remarks, the president signaled that he would consider a piecemeal approach to immigration reform long favored by Republican leaders in the House of Representatives. What got the most attention, however, was an unscripted exchange between Obama and Ju Hong, an undocumented UC Berkeley graduate who interrupted the president, calling on him to use
No matter how you spell it, ice is a four letter word Friday. Just ask folks living anywhere from Texas to Tennessee. Those areas are in the bulls eye of a treacherous ice storm, threatening to coat everything in its path with up to an inch of frozen water. Ice is slippery, but also heavy. It tends to bring down tree limbs and power lines when accumulations get thick. In Tennessee, Memphis Light, Gas and Water has 426,000 customers and is ready for the worst. "MLGW employees have been monitoring this winter storm situation and we have all of our
U.S. authorities have charged 49 Russian diplomats and their spouses with conspiracy to commit healthcare fraud, alleging that they stole $1.5 million from the American government via a years-long Medicaid scam. According to a criminal complaint made public today, the former and current diplomats lied about their income and citizenship status in order to qualify for the health benefits, which they used towards pregnancy care, births, and post-natal medical needs. They were also charged with conspiracy to steal government funds and make false statements relating to health care matters, reports the Associated Press. The complaint notes that medical costs associated with
Seduced and then disappointed by a hipster who turned out just to be another solipsistic boomer, now chastened yet still hopeful for change (if no longer swept away by the promise of Hope and Change), young Americans are ready to ditch Barack Obama. Things had been getting rocky for a while, but seeing the dawning of the Age of Obamacare in its full glory seems to have been the final indignity. The young will of course never acknowledge that maybe their old-fogey parents were right all along, but they do understand that what they thought was going to be a
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
Last summer on his $100 million family tour of Africa, Barack Obama hoped for a priceless photo op with Nelson Mandela, the ailing freedom pioneer who went from prison cell to the presidency of South Africa. Mandela´s family suggested that wouldn’t happen. So, the Obamas did a photo op in Mandela´s former prison cell. Which Obama’s White House quickly tweeted upon word of the icon´s passing at 95. [Skip] But Obama was also caught staring at television coverage of Mandela’s passing, which became Obama’s Photo of the Day.
Hardly a week goes by without Hillary Clinton receiving another award. Last month she was named a “Global Champion” by the International Medical Corps, received the American Patriot Award at the National Defense University Foundation and the Hermandad Award from the Mexican American Leadership Initiative. [Snip] At this rate, if a bunch of elderly left-wing Swedes toss her the Nobel Peace Prize early on, the way they did to Obama, it will barely rate mention among all the other glittering trophies that have been bestowed on a woman whose only actual accomplishment was being married to a crooked governor with
Speaker John Boehner said his party should support gay Republican congressional candidates and urged his colleagues to “be a little more sensitive” when running against women. “Some of our members just aren’t as sensitive as they ought to be,” Boehner said. When asked if he thinks his party should support gay candidates, Boehner simply said: “I do.”
In February, the Bush family’s personal emails were hacked by Guccifer, a hacker who uncovered photographs of former President George H. W. Bush in a hospital bed and George W. Bush’s oil paintings in the process. It seems Guccifer has struck again, this time targeting former President Bill Clinton and the Clinton Library. The hacker has reportedly uncovered doodles of Clinton drawing on what were, at the time, classified documents. Among the doodles is apparently a picture of a penis. The document uncovered is a briefing of the strategic measures the United States could take prior Clinton’s decision to intervene in
Denver - A baker who refused to make a wedding cake for a same-sex ceremony must serve gay couples despite his religious beliefs or face fines, a judge said Friday. The order from administrative law judge Robert N. Spencer said Masterpiece Cakeshop in suburban Denver discriminated against a couple "because of their sexual orientation by refusing to sell them a wedding cake for their same-sex marriage." The order says the cake-maker must "cease and desist from discriminating" against gay couples. Although the judge did not impose fines in this case, the business will face penalties if it continues to turn away gay
Amid an array of “knock-out” attacks against a number of Jews in Brooklyn’s Crown Heights neighborhood, a city councilwoman pointed to the success of the Jewish community as triggering the aggression. Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo emphasized that while she “admire[s] the Jewish community immensely” for its work ethic, black teens may see it differently. “While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success,” Cumbo, who was recently elected, wrote in a letter. Chief among the issues
On Tuesday, The Boston Globe reported that Onyango “Omar” Obama, uncle to President Obama, says that his famous nephew stayed with him while a student at Harvard Law School in the 80s, in contradiction to The White House’s contention that the two had never met. At Thursday’s White House daily briefing, Press Secretary Jay Carney confirmed that the President had, in fact, briefly stayed with “his father’s half-brother,” as Carney described Omar Obama, and that no one had actually asked the President about it when the White House initially commented. The 69 year-old Omar Obama has been facing deportation back
Former President Bill Clinton shared an anecdote regarding Nelson Mandela and the aftermath of his impeachment Friday on CNN. Clinton revealed shortly after the “impeachment business” finished on Capitol Hill, Rep. Henry Hyde (R., Ill.) who managed the impeachment trial requested a meeting at the White House. The former president granted the meeting out of lessons of humility and forgiveness he learned from Mandela, he said: BILL CLINTON: I remember one day, oh, about a month after the whole impeachment business was over, Henry Hyde, who had run the whole show, unbelievably enough, maybe a few months after, it was
The world premiere of the “Ballad for Trayvon Martin for Orchestra and Jazz Quartet” is set for tonight. Princeton University’s director of its jazz-studies program composed the work in honor of the Florida teen. Anthony D. J. Branker told the Star-Ledger that the piece is intended to “be a form of healing” after Martin’s death and the controversial court case that followed it. The ballad, which will be performed by the university’s official orchestra and jazz ensemble, is intended to be a tribute to victims of racial violence, Branker explained. He hopes that the performance will be “one that speaks to
WASHINGTON – A fourth straight month of solid hiring cut the U.S. unemployment rate to a five-year low of 7 percent in November, an encouraging sign for the economy. The Labor Department says employers added 203,000 jobs, nearly matching October´s revised gain of 200,000. The job gains helped lower the unemployment rate from 7.3 percent in October. The strengthening job market is likely to fuel speculation that the Federal Reserve may start to scale back its bond purchases when it meets later this month. The economy has now generated an average of 204,000 jobs from August through November. That´s up
WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama has high praise for potential 2016 contenders Vice President Joe Biden and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. “I think Joe Biden will go down in history as one of the best vice presidents ever, and he has been with me, at my side, in every tough decision that I’ve made,” Obama told MSNBC in an interview Thursday held at American University. “Hillary, I think, will go down in history as one of the finest secretaries of state we’ve ever had, and helped to transition us away from a deep hole that we were in,
