Lawmakers call for probe into
´botched´ ATF sting in Milwaukee

Fox News, by Barnini Chakraborty

Original Article

Posted By:earlybird, 2/2/2013 1:07:46 PM

WASHINGTON – Several members of Congress are calling for an investigation into an embarrassing series of blunders made by the Milwaukee arm of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after a newspaper reported this week that the agency conducted a months-long undercover operation that cost taxpayers thousands of dollars and netted very few results. (Snip)the agency conducted a deeply flawed sting operation that resulted in a still-missing machine gun being taken from an agent’s car, thousands of taxpayer dollars being lost in merchandise and angry residents saying that ATF officials reintroduced crime into their neighborhood.

Comments:
Senators Sensenbrenner and Grassley, and Representatives Issa and Goodlatte, are on the case. This is just another example of expensive (to us) Obamafoolishness.

Want to cut the size of government? Don´t just trim around the edges, which is the current approach. Whack whole departments at a time. BATF would be a good start. Since the days of Al Capone, they haven´t done one bit of good.

So to recap...Obama is incompetent...Holder is incompetent...both blatantly ´hiding´ facts in the Fast n´ Furious ATF program (botched job numero uno) in defiance of Congress...

And both want to ´instruct´ the American public in...wait for it...firearm ´competence´.

Oooohhhhkay. Sounds about par for the course in this ´don´t do as we do, do as we *say*´ administration.

The farce that just keeps on giving.

President Barack Obama’s appearance on funnyordie.com’s parody show “Between Two Ferns,” where he took mock questions from comic Zach Galifianakis, was a lot of things: funny, unusual, an intriguing way to sell Obamacare and very popular. One thing it was not, though, was an “interview” — unless you’re White House press secretary Jay Carney. Carney was defending the administration’s aggressive campaign to get young people to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. (Snip)That’s some quality trolling of the media by Carney, a former Time magazine bureau chief.

BURBANK, Calif.—A 3-year-old boy who fell out of a third-story window in Burbank was saved by a quick-acting couple who threw a mattress out to break his fall. KABC-TV reports Konrad Lightner and his wife, Jennifer, were moving out of their apartment Sunday when they noticed the toddler and his sister throwing their toys out the window. When they saw the little boy throw his leg over the window sill, Konrad rushed to put the mattress down. He was able to break the child’s fall, placing him onto the mattress. California public health officials say 19 of the 32 cases of measles they have confirmed so far this year are in people who had not been vaccinated, and of that group, 14 were intentionally not vaccinated. As the number of measles cases continues to grow across the state — there were only three by this time last year — officials at the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) have urged parents against opting out of vaccinating their children. They say an increase in the number of people choosing not to vaccinate could drive a resurgence of the respiratory disease, since

In Eastern Europe, Biden

VILNIUS, Lithuania—Vice President Biden’s we’re-all-in-this together tour of Eastern Europe, a two-country stop that concludes here Wednesday, has highlighted not only the growing regional anxieties over Russia’s designs on Ukraine but also how much work the Obama administration has to do to convince allies of its support. At its core, Biden’s message here and in Poland was a simple reaffirmation of what one senior administration official called a “bedrock commitment”: The United States would honor NATO’s basic premise that if one member nation is attacked, all would come to its defense. Black students are more likely to be suspended from U.S. public schools — even as tiny preschoolers. The suspensions — and disparities — begin at the earliest grades. Black children represent about 18 percent of children in preschool programs in schools, but they make up almost half of the preschoolers who are suspended more than once, the report said.
