LONDON/DUBLIN -Burger King, one of the most popular fast-food chains in Britain and Ireland, said on Thursday it had stopped using one of the firms caught up in the scandal of supplying grocers with beef that contained horse meat. The British food industry has been rocked by the revelation last week that retailers including market leader Tesco and smaller chains Aldi, Lidl and Iceland had sold beef products that contained horse meat. The scandal has left Ireland´s 2 billion euros ($2.6 billion) beef industry, which accounts for 21 percent of all of the country´s food and drink exports

Well, horse meat is routinely consumed in much of Europe. It seems unlikely that it´d be added to, or substituted for, beef, since I was under the impression that horse meat was typically more expensive.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise.
