Can Rahm Emanuel’s Illegal
Thug Tactics Be Stopped?

FrontPage Magazine, by Michael Volpe

Original Article

A number of pro-2nd Amendment groups have condemned a series of letters written by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel encouraging both Bank of America and TD Bank not to honor credit lines with gun manufacturers, but so far, Emanuel is not facing any legal action for his interference in a private contract. Last week, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel sent a letter from his office to two banks, Bank of America and TD Bank, asking each to suspend doing business with gun manufacturers in the hope that this will pressure these companies into helping gun legislation pass.

Both banks should consider suspending doing business in Chicago.

Hey Rahm have you thought about having some of your nearby thugs shifting their fire from Chicago´s citizens to Gun manufactures?

And the voters of this once great country have handed the White House and executive branch of the US government to the Chicago Mafia--twice.

And I didn´t even get my "free" Obama cell phone.

Rahm truly thinks he´s king. I don´t understand why anyone able to move - doesn´t.

Politicians have all kinds of ideas for the bankruptcy of Bank of America. Write off their home mortgages, don´t lend to gun manufacturers, government forced loans to those who have no income. Yee HAA, democrats are wizards of finance and ruin.

Of course Rahm is the guy who also didn´t want Chick-fil-A to be able to do business in Chicago. Unbelievable. He gets to pick and choose what businesses will be allowed to operate there. What a thug.

Even before this letter from Emanuel, Bank of America has been asking gun sellers and manufacturers to close their accounts and has frozen the account of one of them..

And what would Bank of America and TD Bank do if people threatened to take their business elsewhere if they come close to complying with the thug?

I can tell you one thing for certain: if either of these banks comply with Emmauels´ "suggestions" there will be a major pull-out of customers throughout the U.S. What a bunch of thugs these Chicago pols are (and I include our President and his illegal strikes against the Constitution).

By seeking to ban just about all modern firearms produced and sold in the USA, the liberal Democrats are affectively attempting to put most of the conservative oriented US small arms and relating industries out of business, as those industries could not survive bidding on the diminishing number of military small arms contracts. If the liberal Democrats are successful they will also be eliminating the tens of thousands of well paying American jobs that now exist in those industries.

Notice that the liberal Democrats have nothing to say about the Hollywood movie, and the video game industries that produce an unending stream of very violent movies, and addictive and very violent video games, that give the unsound minds of young people with mental disorders who grow up in places like peaceful rural Connecticut towns, ideas as they set out on their own personal suicide missions, that by committing criminally insane mass murders they can draw worldwide attention to themselves. That´s because the movie and video game industries are big time liberal Democrat financial supporters.

In that speech of his, 30 years ago, Reagan said, I know this is a formidable technical task, one that may not be accomplished before the end of this century. Yet current technology has attained a level of sophistication where it’s reasonable for us to begin this effort. It will take years, probably decades, of effort on many fronts. There will be failures and setbacks, just as there will be successes and breakthroughs. Yes — failures and setbacks, and successes and breakthroughs. The economist Thomas Sowell has just released a new book entitled Intellectuals and Race. (Snip) AmSpec: In the book you have a definition of “multiculturalism.” Can you talk about that and its implications? Sowell: The central premise of multiculturalism is that no culture is superior to another. The proponents of this draw conclusions such as it is wrong for school teachers to insist that black kids from the ghetto speak standard English. The idea that no culture is superior is another fact-free premise. If you look at the actual history of any society, they borrow from other societies.

The economist Thomas Sowell has just released a new book entitled Intellectuals and Race. The American Spectator sat down with him recently for a lengthy interview. In this first part of the interview, we discuss some of the causes of differences between ethnic groups, and how intellectuals in the early 20th century viewed race versus intellectuals today. (Snip) AmSpec: One of the things that comes across in the book is that it’s possible different racial groups will have different outcomes but those differences may be in no way related to genetics. It’s the easiest thing in the world to be a pessimist, and the least American. We’re optimists, and as tough as things are, as many skirmishes as we’ve lost, we haven’t lost this country to the left quite yet. If you had to choose between being them or us, you’d be crazy to choose being them. We’re going to win, and America is going to rise again. Pessimism is a cop-out, an excuse to do nothing and wait for the end instead of figuratively fixing bayonets and charging head-long into the enemy.

For those who don’t remember, the Mavi Marmara was a Turkish ship that set sail in a bid to break Israel’s lawful maritime blockade of Hamas-controlled Gaza’s coastline. When Israeli naval commandos boarded the ship to interdict it, passengers on deck attacked them – in breach of international maritime law.

Taxpaying citizens opposed to abortion without restrictions, open borders, balkanization of the country, erosion of their constitutional rights, dumbed down education of their children and environmental extremism are fighting opposition very generously funded by these groups. The irony of this development is that capitalists -- like Ford, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Pew -- who owed their fortunes to American free market policies, started most of these foundations.

Recent research indicates that the number of people who do not consider themselves a part of an organized religion is steadily on the rise. Interestingly enough, though the number of those religiously unaffiliated is increasing, there is little to no trend in the number of those who express atheist or agnostic beliefs. People aren’t saying they don’t believe in God. They’re saying they don’t believe in religion. They are not rejecting Christ. They are rejecting the church. This begs the question, “Why are we losing our religion?”

Gluten-free diets are all the rage, but they can be dangerous if not done right. What is gluten? It´s the spongy complex of proteins, found naturally in wheat, rye, and barley, that gives elasticity to dough and allows it to rise. When flour is moistened and either kneaded or mixed into dough, gluten molecules form an elastic, microscopic latticework that traps the carbon dioxide produced when yeast ferments, causing dough to inflate like a hot air balloon. Baking hardens the gluten, which helps the finished product keep its shape. Wheat — and gluten — is ubiquitous in the American diet.
