When Obama reveals his own plan today, it will completely undercut the "bipartisan" plan. Democrats don´t want legislation; they´d rather have the issue. Just like minimum wage, where an inflation kicker would eliminate the issue, democrats much prefer a gift that keeps on giving.

My family came to this country in 1719, we have been here a long time, yet I have more in common culturally, morally and my work ethic with the illegals crossing our southern border for work than I do with the urban populations on the East or West coasts or even Chicago. I have been a conservative, Republican most of the time, all my life (65 years) but on this issue I agree with what these Senators have proposed. BUT immigration reform must be tied to border security or it won´t work.

Why don´t we just invite them ALL here.....? Let them come in freely and vote like they want. Keep the Democrats in power forever, and the free stuff flowing.

Eventually they´ll run out of money and maybe figure it out.

First off, its not 11 million, more like 13 million and thats before friends and family. Grand total - maybe 30 million.
Second, what happens if we throw 8 million blue color workers willing to work for minimum wage in the labor force. Think your union will protect you - think again. The union shops will not be able to compete with non-union minimum wage shops. Think you are safe in government service, don´t bet on it. The Republican aide quoted says why the GOP tried to find a way to be able to vote for this bill when he said "our side wants Rubio to be successful". The Democrats have made this impossible and the Republicans recognize that fact.

Many of the illegals who cross the southern border settle in urban centers on the east and west coasts, plus Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Omaha, and so on. They may have come here for work but they also come to USA to connect to the social services lifeline. They also bring their 3rd world culture which for many of them includes resentment of this country. Here is my anecdotal experience: I work in a high school in metro Denver with 78 percent hispanic student body. I estimate 80 percent of them obtain at least one form of social services. We had a mock election. Romney received 8 percent. I doubt you share much in common with the latest waves of mexican "immigrants."

In November I drove from San Diego to the Grand Canyon and part of the trip took me right along the border. You can see the fences from the interstate. In Arizona, which is supposed to be tough on illegal immigrants, the US Border Control checkpoints along the highway were mostly sporting signs that said CLOSED. Secure the borders? Dream on.

I think we should have a Constitutional Amendment that allows only native born Americans the right to vote.

They are on social services because they do not get a fair wage because they are illegal! Data presented at the National Review Conference in DC this past weekend was that 50% of Hispanic mothers are unwed, with conclusion that most are on the dole, and 70%+ of black womena re unwed mothers and most are on the dole.

1) Make illegal immigration a felony with 1-10 years in prison.
2) Amend the constitution so babies born to illegals are not citizens.
3) Illegals can bring in any but immediate family.
4) Sanctuaries or aiding illegals is a felony.
5) Federal law enforcement agency dedicated to pursuit of illegals.
6) Failure to enforce these laws is a felony.

I´m open to this, once the border has been secured. That was the "deal" with Simpson-Mazzoli, upon which the Dems reneged. Fool us once ..
